Silent Night

The last day of January and I have managed to make three Christmas cards this month. Not too bad considering I didn't do much crafting when I was so poorly earlier this month. I seem to be in a distressing mood at the moment with a lot of my cards. I sprayed the coloured art sheet image (from the Girlie Christmas sheet), with iridescent spray and sparkle. The papers are the new ones I treated myself to last week. Wild Rose Frosted Lace. I added some glitter washi tape, a LOTV grungy Christmas sentiment which I coloured with weathered wood DI and some white flowers from Hobbycraft.  I used an old Memory Box precious stars die and a Woodware holly punch.

Always follow the music of your heart

I was asked to make some samples using the new art sheets from LOTV. I love these Jasmine images and really enjoy colouring the stamps but of course the coloured art sheets do make for quicker cards. I have two sets of the art sheets so am making two the same of each image, one for Prima Rosa to sell and one for me to sell. I took some cards in there yesterday and wait to see how they will sell.

I used a couple of he MFT paper pads. MFT are some are some of my favourites as I love the colours and small patterns and they go so well with these coloured art sheets. I used one of the teenage girl sentiments and used MFT pierced banner and music dies.

You and Me

I got this digi a long time ago, printed it out and it has been sitting in my images box waiting to be used. I don't know why it has taken me so long as I love the image.
Image - Tiddly Inks You and Me
Medium - Copics
Papers - Nitwits Romance and Roses
Dies - Sue Wilson sentiment, Gummiapan double heart, Gummiapan Inversus (leaves)
Flowers - Wild Orchid
Other - Dovecraft 3D pearl effects, ribbon

Trip out and about today. I need to take some stock into Prima Rosa including some cards which they are going to sell. It is a lovely vintage team rooms and gift shop so we will stop for some light refreshment too. Then off to the farm shop and butchers and Tesco. Hopefully some crafting time this afternoon.  Really hoping we don't get the snow they are predicting but I do have some new snow boots I bought before Christmas.

Time for a snowman

This is only my second Christmas card this year but it is a start. I used one of the cute coloured digis from the Lee Holland digi shop. You can find details of his new digis, any special offers and inspiration on the  Lee Holland Facebook page.

I diecut the image using a wonky stitched circle die and added some pearl drops and fun flock mixed with glitter. The papers are some old Kaisercraft Letter to Santa.  I used white glitter card with one of my new Gummiapan dies from Swedish House Crafts.  I couldn't resist a new Christmas tree die especially at half price.  It is amazing how many different Christmas tree dies I have but I do use them a lot.

Elephant anniversary

When I saw this new digi from Pink Gem I couldn't resist using it to make a couple of Anniversary cards. I decided I am going to make two cards exactly the same sometimes so that I will have one to sell at fairs and one to take into Prima Rosa where they will be selling my cards.  The image is called Valentine elephants and you can but it at the  Pink Gem digi shop.  I used the precoloured one but you also get a black and white outline one to colour.

The paper is MFT, ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, pearl trim from The Hobby House, roses from Wild Orchid, double heart die is Gummiapan from Swedish House Crafts. Their Gummiapan dies are all half price at the moment.

Champagne in the bath

I still have several of the old Lili of the Valley coloured diecuts in my stash and am determined to use some of them this year. So far I have been very frugal with my crafty purchases. I did buy some half price dies from Swedish House Crafts this week and a stamp and paper pad from a local craft shop. I am on a mission to use a lot more older stuff this year.

So my papers are Crafter's Companion vintage Wedding. I added some burlap with lace from Ebay and used some old punches for the flowers and a folk art heart punch from Hobbycraft. The sentiment stamp is from a very useful set from Stamposaurus.

Our builder friend is coming his morning to measure up the bathroom and look at the products we have chosen for our conversion to a shower room. Think we will be spending a day at home today.

Football and exciting news

I was asked to make a card for someone who is a huge football fan and and I remembered I had this Hunkydory topper amongst the male pack I was asked to review for them. I made a 7x7 card as the topper is so large and simply added some football ribbon and some boots which I found amongst my old stash. There was also a football on foam pads so I added that to the image.

I was delighted to be invited to join the new design team for Lee Holland Illustrations as I love his cute digis. You can see my D badge and link to Lee's shop in my sidebar.

Birdhouse

Another Elisabeth Bell Hobby House topper today.  I think I have the stamp of this too, an old Sugar Nellie stamp. I created a 7x7 card as the topper is quite large.  The papers are some old LOTV ones. I added some cheesecloth and a butterfly from Poundland. The dies used were a Marianne birds on a branch and Impression Obsession birdhouses.  I love making this style of card.

You may know that I sell some of my gifts in a local vintage cafe and craft shop. The person who used to sell handmade cards in there is giving up cardmaking so I have been asked if I would like to sell some of mine in there. She does sell printed cards too but I am hoping that my cards will sell in there and hopefully I will pick up some orders too.

Off to see my Mum today and go out for lunch. We should have gone last Wednesday but we were both too poorly and I didn't want my Mum to catch it.

New Job

I am on a mission to use some of my toppers, some I have had for years and amongst them I found this Hobby House topper with an Elisabeth Bell image. Ideal for a new job card I thought and something I need to add to my stock.

The papers are Bo Bunny Double Damask. I used a LOTV sentiment, an old suitcase die from Die-versions and a Joy pocket watch die.

Out for breakfast again this morning before a long session at the hairdresser's having a cut and highlights. A good chance to read my book.  I have always loved reading and always have a book on the go.

With a heart

I love the Gorjuss Girls as you may know but I do find them tricky to colour. I coloured her with Copics and used victorian velvet DI around the edges. The papers are MFT beautiful blooms brights. Another sentiment from my stash, some pretty ribbon and a wooden heart button.

We are off to order a new shed today and have a look at some bathroom showrooms as we want to convert our bathroom into a shower room.

A little bird told me

My energy levels are still way down. Saturday we both took a real dip but yesterday started feeling a bit better so took ourselves out for breakfast and a little walk in the frosty sunshine. I think it will be a while before we both feel back to normal.  Thankfully the coughing is much less, hubby's cold has dried up and we are now sleeping ok.  This certainly has been a nasty virus.

So it is nice to feel up to crafting again and I am working my way through my stamped and printed images. This cutie is from Lee Holland and has been coloured with Copics. The papers are MFT trail mix. I found the sentiment in  my stash. I think t may have come from a Little Claire set.  I liked the clean lines so just added some enamel dots.

An oldie but a goodie

I have so many images stamped or printed and I am determined to use some of them without buying new stuff. This is an old Delicious Doodles digi. I added a little colour with Nuvo glitter markers and used a clear Spectrum Noir sparkle pen on the snow. The papers are Dovecraft Winter Blooms, the sentiment is from another paper pack. I used a Marianne Christmas tree die with white glitter card.

My first Christmas card this year. Need to keep making a few each month.

The End

Well recovery is cerainly slow but I did manage a little crafting Wednesday afternoon. I don't feel up to colouring yet and with that resolution to do more scrapbooking in mind am trying to finish off my Orlando theme park scrapbook. This is the last page and the picture is the end of the parade hence the title.

I love to use banners on layouts and the MFT jumbo stitched banner dies were just what I needed. I found a set of Disney stickers I bought in America and added the string of stars and balloons from the sheet. I wanted something to just finish off the top banners and simply punched some stars to match the ones on the backing paper.

I am off for my massage and facial which I had to cancel last week as I was so poorly.  I hope I don't cough too much.

The owl and the elephant

I made these last week before I became ill. I actually bought them as kits but before I made them I cut patterns from the felt pieces so I can make some more. The kits come with a bit of thread to hang them bu I like to use pretty ribbon. I also used brads on the eyes rather than the tiny felt dots that come in the packs.

More heat embossing

It is several years since I have felt as ill as I have the last few days, Now hubby has caught it so we are both coughing and feeling awful. I haven't been in the craftroom for days but I made this one last week and only summoned up the energy to get out the laptop yesterday afternoon.

I have used some of the LOTV large Birthday sentiment stamps and heat embossed them in gold. The papers are Crafter's Companion Vintage Wedding. Lots of distressing with vintage photo DI and my distressing tool.  I love to add lots of different textures to vintage cards and found a pack of burlap butterflies and flowers amongst my stash. The ribbon is one of my faves from Crafty Ribbons.  I also added a small vintage doily, pearl brad and a wooden butterfly.

Love gardening

I made this one for a friend's Birthday. He loves pottering in the garden so I thought this Hunkydory topper was perfect for him. The paper is MFT and the sentiment is from an old LOTV stamp set. I used a Memory Box snail, grass and Whimsy fence dies

Thanks for all your get well wishes. It hasn’t turned into a cold, just a horrendous cough and very sore throat. Keeping me awake a lot and last night I couldn’t get my breath at times. Went to the walk in centre this morning, thankfully chest is clear. A day indoors again, keeping warm and plenty of fluids. I hope you enjoy your Saturday whatever you are doing.

Under the weather

I didn’t get my pampering session yesterday afternoon as I felt dreadful. I started with a sore throat and severe cough Wednesday afternoon and it got worse yesterday. No doubt it will turn into a cold today. So no card on my blog today but I do have one scheduled for tomorrow.  Luckily I have rebooked my massage and facial for next Friday. First cold of the Winter, hope hubby doesn’t catch it. Hope you are all keeping germ free.

You are magic

I did treat myself to the new unicorn and magic sentiment stamps when LOTV had a 50% off sale recently. Unicorn cards are very popular and the sentiments are so useful so I teamed one of them with the unicorn image. The little group of stars are also from the unicorn set.  The papers are First Edition Wanderlust, the super cute ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons and I used 3 Hobbycraft punches for the stars.

Pamper afternoon today with a facial and back massage. lovely.

Vellum sentiment

I said I was enjoying using vellum didn't I so I decided to use it again with some stamps from the one of the greeting sentiment sets from LOTV. The paper is First Edition Mulberry Kises. I wanted to keep a really soft but textured look so added a doily, rose ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, a Prima butterfly, and flowers from Wild Orchid and The Ribbon Girl.

I have had the ribbon and butterfly for a few years and the paper must be at least 2 years old so I am doing well with using up some older items.

Poppy

I love the Stamping Bella girls though they are quite a challenge to colour.  I was lucky enough to have this stamp as a Christmas pressie from my friend Lynsey. I coloured her with Copics and teamed her with First Edition wanderlust papers. I stamped on vellum for the sentiment for a change and used a Joy die for the flowers. I only have a grey Stazon ink pad so have just ordered a black one as that is the best ink to use on vellum without smudging. I am really enjoying getting back into some techniques I haven't used for ages.

Special Friend

I have been playing with the new large sentiment stamp set from Lili of the Valley. I love making vintage style cards. I don't heat emboss as much as I should as I love the effect so I embossed the sentiment with metallic copper onto kraft card. Lots of distressing with my distress tool and vintage photo distress ink. The papers are Crafter's Companion vintage wedding. I added some jute ribbon, lace from Crafty Ribbons and flowers from The Robbin Girl. The double heart is one I bought at the end of last year from Swedish House Crafts and I used an old EK butterfly punch.

I am determined to buy less and use more of what I have this year. The trouble is new products are so tempting so I will see how I go with that resolution. I know it is one many of us crafters make. I am loving the freedom to make what I want and have decided not to enter any blog challenges, at least for a while, but to try and comment more often. After all there is no point in blogging if nobody looks at it. It is so easy to press like on Facebook but commenting takes more time.

Springtime

The new Crafts Beautiful magazine was out yesterday and this is the Springtime card I made for it. I used a coloured digi image from Pink Gem and papers from LOTV.  I diecut the stitched circles and fussycut her out to sit her on the circles. The sentiment is from LOTV, ribbon from The Range and diecut butterflies using a Crafts Too die.

We have quite a bit of Winter to get through before Spring arrives.  Let's hope it isn't as bad as last year.

Perfect Moments

This is the second card I made for Papercraft Inspirations using the Nitwits Anabelle digital kit.  For this one I used a MFT scalloped border die, Go Kreate frilly 10 die, lace from Crafty Ribbons and a small bow.

Cinderella

Here is my first scrapbook page for 2019 and I hope it is the first of many. Once I get back into scrapbooking I want to keep going with it.  This is a photo from one of the Disney parades in Florida.  I started off with the idea of adding blue and white flowers around the image but then once I started laying it all out completely changed my mind and went with the midnight theme.

I sanded the Core'dinations backing card, adding some distressed Craftwork Cards papers. The clock is an old Tim Holtz weathered die and the circle is a die from Swedish House Crafts. I have a number of journal pages in packs from America and the old typewriter with remember on it was just what I wanted.  I also added some Tim Holtz words.

Happy New Year

This seems like a good card to start off a new year. It is one of two cards I was commissioned to make for Papercraft Inspirations. Most of the items are from the Nitwits Annabelle digital kit. I simply add a small white doily, pink heart pins, wooden butterflies with added glitter pen and some flowers from Wild Orchid.
