New toadstool home

Today I have used one of the woodland fairy extra digis which are launching on 23rd October from LOTV.  I coloured it with Copics, using chalk for the sky.  The papers are  Craft O'clock home sweet home.  I used a LOTV block sentiment, MFT stitched cloud and Sweet Dixie flower dies.

Time goes so quickly and I have lots of Christmas cards to make still plus sew Christmas decorations.  How is your Christmas crafting going?

Home Sweet Home with a difference

A good friend asked me to make a card for her middle daughter who is going to rent an apartment with her partner for the first time.  So she asked for a new home card with 2 ladies on it. Normally I don't include people on a new home card so this was a bit of a challenge.  They live and work in London and love dressing up to go out.

I used images from 2 different All Dressed Up stamp sets which I coloured with Copics.  The paper and houses, which I decoupaged are from the Craft o-clock pad Home sweet home.  I added some pearl dots and found a piece of ribbon just big enough for the sentiment on the card.

Vintage new home

I love this Inkylicious sentiment for new home cards. It really suits vintage style but I really should try a bright card with it too. I stamped it in brown on kraft card.  The paper is Crafter's Companion rustic Wedding. I added some cream burlap and a wooden heart. The burlap flowers and butterfly go perfectly and I added some tiny pearls to finish.

Another milestone today as our line dancing classes start. That's an hour and a half of exercise we could do with. We have been practicing a little as we have only been 7 times since last March. It will be good to have the class back together again. No doubt we will be going over all the dances we have learnt so far for a few weeks before learning any new ones.

New home, new stamps

I sold a large new home Woodware stamp on Facebook as it was so big it nearly took up the whole card. Just after I sold it I saw someone selling a Woodware set for the same price but this one has various patchwork stamps. I love their patchwork stamps and had great fun paperpiecing the house, tree and sign. The papers are Craft O'clock home sweet home. I just added some little banners and used the paper with MFT stitched cloud dies.

So looking forward to our back massages today. It has been so long since we had them and we both really feel in need of them. We have really missed going once a month.

Happy Birthday Hubby and a new home card

Yes today is Graham's Birthday so I won't be around to visit you today as we are off out to celebrate.

I bought this Woodware stamp the other day and I was going to make a vintage style card but decided on a modern bright one this time. It is a rather large stamp so didn't need to much embellishing. I used MFT papers and pierced banner dies and added an enamel heart.

Playing with some new papers

I had a lovely crafting day yesterday as hubby was out all day at powerboat racing where he is part of the rescue team of volunteers. I ordered two packs of gorgeous new Mintay 12x12 papers and made a couple of cards, one from each pack. I also made some other things which I shall be sharing on here during the week.

There are some gorgeous toppers on one of the sheets and as I needed some new home cards I used one of the toppers, a suitcase from a sheet of images and one of the pretty papers from the Dreamer pack. I used a Doohickey banner die with some spotted card and a Joy leaf die along with some flowers from Te Hobby House.  The sentiment was diecut with a Doohickey die and stamped with a LOTV stamp.

I have lots to look forward to this week. Today we are going into the city and I am having my hair cut. Tomorrow we are back at line dancing class where we shall be recapping on many of the dances and learning a new one. On Wednesday I am having a facial and massage and on Friday we are out for a meal and the theatre with friends. Enjoy your week.

Shabby chic new home

Back in shabby chic mode for this one.  I wanted to make a multi layered and textured card and really love how it turned out.
Sentiment - Inkylicious
Paper - Crafter's Companion Vintage Wedding
Lace and ribbon - Crafty Ribbons
Paper flowers - Michaels, Florida
Die - honeycomb die (no packaging, bought from a friend)
Metal flower, key charm and burlap flowers from stash

I need to stocktake all my cards and gifts today ready for the new financial year, plant a couple of pots for the garden and so some other odds and ends. Then this evening we are out for a meal and the theatre we are seeing Paul Merton and chums. Should be funny.

New toadstool home

I was asked to make some cards using the Thinking of You art sheets for Lili of the Valley. This is my first card. Such a sweet image. I love playing around with papers to create the design and found these MFT rainbow stripe papers at the bottom of my MFT paper pile. I used Joy flower and Lawn fawn bunting dies to echo the bunting on the image.

I am feeling a lot better now, just need to finally get rid of the cough which is much better but doesn't seem to want to go away completely.

New Home and a New Die

i made this for one of my crafting friends who has just moved house. She likes CAS cards and yellow so I kept it simple. The papers are MFT and I used a new die I bought just before Christmas. I saw it on Carole Pollard's blog and liked the quirky shape and embossed detail. I thnk it is meant to be for Christmas but I would use it any time. I am also thinking I could cut some of the branches off and use it as a sign post. The image is one of a trio of digis from LOTV which I diecut with a Lawn Fawn stitched circle die and coloured with Copics.  The sentiment I found stamped in my stash but I think is from LOTV.

We have a fun day planned, more on that tomorrow.

Vintage new home card

We had a good day yesterday, the weather was gorgeous, the breakfast was yummy, went all round the garage sale, didn’t buy much but we walked 13000 steps. You may have seen the new home card I was asked to make which was on my blog last Friday. This is the card I made to send to the couple. As a complete contrast to the other card I went for a vintage style. The paper is Crafter's Companion vintage Wedding and I added some scrim from B&Q. The sentiment is Inkylicious. I used an old Tim Holtz on the edge townscape die I haven;t used for ages. I diecut it from kraft and coloured one house with Copics.  The sold sign is a Stamposaurus stamp and I added some green burlap and wooden flowers.  I would like to enter the anything goes challenge at Simon Says.

Another busy week ahead, how did I have time to go to work! Looking forward to a facial and back massage this afternoon.

New home, new cat

Well An Officer and a Gentleman was absolutely fantastic yesterday, one of the best shows we have ever seen on stage, and we have seen a lot. It was full of 80’s power ballads and we came out with St Elmo’s Fire singng in our heads. Isn't this an idyllic Summer scene. My friend asked me to make a card for her daughter and family who moved house yesterday. They are going to get a cat so I was asked to include it on the card. Mind you when the 5 year old son was asked what colour cat he would like he said a blue one!  The image is one of the digi printables from LOTV, papers are Jen Hadfield everyday. I bought this from a friend who is having a craft room clearout. Of course I needed more papers!  The sentiment is from LOTV and I added some Hobby House flowers and a Bo Bunny border.  This image is also available as a printed art sheet from LOTV. I would like to enter the Summer challenge at Crafteezee and anything goes at Simon Says.

A clean sweep

This card shows how you can make a really quick pretty card using one of the LOTV precoloured simply print images. I simply added a backing paper, glitter washi tape and diecut and layered some butterflies using Joy dies, adding some pearls.

We are out tonight at a BBQ and quiz evening at the powerboat club as here is no racing this week.

Home is where love resides

Some friends moved home at Easter and this is he card I made for them.  I went for a shabby chic style using a sentiment stamp from Inkylicious.   The fun papers are Nikki Sivill's Tree Love from Dies to Die For.  The burlap with lace is from my stash, flowers from Michaels in the US and wooden butterfly from The Works.

Packing

The second of three new home cards I made for Making Cards magazine using the LOTV moving home trio digis. Coloured with Copics and teamed with Echo Park papers. The sentiment is LOTV too. I love my little crimper and used on kraft card it is perfect to go with the packing boxes.

So for my Birthday we went to Lowestoft with friends where we had a walk along the prom, dinner and then went to the theatre for our third music show in a week! We saw Legend of a Band- a Moody Blues tribute band. Then we stayed in the Premier Inn overnight and will be going out for breakfast this morning before heading home. The meal was lovely, the show was brilliant and we had a great time and a good laugh with our friends. I hope you will enter my candy in the post above.

So today is a bank holiday in the UK which means hubby is driving a rescue boat at the powerboat racing. He will go about 8am to get all the boats ready and set out the course etc. That means I get most of the day in the craft room, yippee.

Have you entered my new candy?

Moving house

Lili of the Valley had some more of their lovely new trio stamps launching at the end of the month and I have a sneak peek for you today of one of the new home digis. Coloured with Copics and cut out with a Lawn Fawn stitched circle die. I teamed it with some lovely new papers I bought on holiday, Echo Park I love family. I also used a Lawn Fawn little town border die and added some wooden embellishments. I was so pleased I remembered I had the wooden sign as it was perfect to write on sold.

I would like to enter this into the anything goes challenge at Allsorts.

New Home Snail

We are back at A Gem of a Challenge and our first challenge is celebrate something new. I need some more new home cards for stock so I used this cute precoloured Pink Gem digi diecut with a MFT stitched round corner die. The papers are Crate Paper Farmhouse. I love the bright cheery colours. The dies is a new one I just bought, Lawn Faswn little twon border. Most of it is covered by the image but I think you will be seeing a lot more of it. In my resolution to use more of my older stuff I used an old Sizzix corner die. The sentiment is LOTV and I added a wooden butterfly button. The scrummy ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons.

Moving Day

Sorting through my old LOTV precoloured diecuts I cam across this cutie and as I need some more new home cards for stock this image was perfect to make a quick card. I teamed it with MME Lime Twist and used my favourite sketch. The flowers were made using EK success retro flower punches and I found the sentiment in my stash.

On our way

If you saw my post on 15 January you will have seen one of the samples I made for Stamposaurus using this set of new stamps.

I wanted to make a completely different card to show how these stamps can be used. I created a scene using Crate Paper Farmouse and DCWV gauze papers. I used Spellbinder curved border, Memory Box house, All Occasions birds and Lawn Fawn puffy clouds dies.

I stamped part of the sold sign onto a wooden sign I bought from Stamposaurus at the NEC and two of the stamps onto card.
