Keep calm and go fishing

This was a card I made for my friend Lynsey's husband's Birthday as he loves fishing. The keep calm is from Pink Gem. The background paper is from the old faithful men's Dovecraft pack which everybody seems to have bought years ago. I've used a TH embossing folder with kraft core Core'dinations which I sanded. The corners were cut with a Sizzix die and the fishbone embllie I found in my stash.

Sledging in Mulberry Wood

Our challenge this week at Totally Gorjuss is punch and die. I've used one of my fave images from the Mulberry Wood stamps from Crafter's Companion called sledging, coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with German glass glitter from The Hobby House.

Here's the front in more detail.

The papers are Marianne Designs Merry Little Christmas. I've used 2 MS punches, Sizzix tree die and MB landscape die. The sentiment is a grunge one from LOTV. Do pop over and check out the rest of the team's creations and enter for the chance to win something from Craftwork Cards.

Baby's First Christmas

At Winter Wonderland this week is is Lynsey's turn to host and she has chosen Baby's First Christmas as the theme. On offer we have a voucher from one of our regular sponsors, Simon Says.

I have used one of my fave baby Christmas stamps from Humphrey's Corner, coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with lots of German glass glitter. The papers are Papermania's Percy and Penelope. I have used an MS border and snowflake punches. The velvet ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons and you can find their velvet ribbon selection here. The ribbon is a much better match then it looks in this photo. I made a flat bow, which is so easy to make. You simply make a loop the size of bow you want and secure the 2 ends. Take another piece of ribbon and wrap around the middle, cut and secure and secure bow to ribbon.

Love is in the air

This is the Anniversary card I made for my hubby, which I haven't got round to posting on my blog. I have been so busy getting ahead with DT work that I decided to post this card today. I love Sarah Kay images and this is one I bought at Ally Pally in April. My hubby likes Country Rock, amongst other music and he rather likes the country style of clothing so I thought this image was very appropriate.  I've used First Edition Desert Bloom papers and DI Vintage Photo. Image coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers of course. The sentiment was a freebie in a mag. I've used a Crafty Sentiments heart border die, MB Sofia heart die and a button with baker's twine.

I would like to enter this into the picture challenge at Sir Stampalot, based on the colours and love in the picture and Anything Goes at Whimsy, Simon Says and The Paper Shelter.

Birthday Fairy

I just love these adorable fairies from Lili of the Valley. She has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with German glass glitter on her wings. I have used DI Weathered Wood on the edges. The papers are Pink Petticoat Wild Blossoms and I have used a MS border punch. I've been playing with my new Memory Box dies, mostly on DT cards, but I have used one here with some tiny X cut flowers and pearls. Pearl heart from Meiflower.

Autumn colours

I was so pleased to be asked to be guest designer at the Elisabeth Bell's World challenge as she is one of my favourite artists. This gorgeous digi is Little Rapunzel and I absolutely love her. She has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. The papers are First Edition Desert Bloom and they have been distressed with a TH tool and DI spiced marmalade added to the edges. These papers are double sided so I used the other side of the offcuts from the backing paper as the two strips, rather than binning them. The leaf arrangement was made with a TH Autumn Gatherings die and I added some Prima flowers and pearls. Check out the gorgeous cards from the DT for the Autumn Colours challenge.

Turquoise Tomboy and new stash

This card is for an order from one of my lovely Facebook crafting friends whom I have met a couple of times at craft fairs. This lady makes fab crocheted items.

The challenge at The Sugar Bowl is another great sketch with an option of turquoise. I've used Chillax from Sugar Nellie. I really love the turquoise Promarkers and Island Lagoon from the Summer limited edition fits beautifully inbetween Turquoise and Marine.I've used these colours on her jeans along with Petrol Blue. The papers are from various pads and I've used some blue ric rac from Crafty Ribbons, Lucy Cromwell sentiment, buttons and raffia. I thought that tying the buttons individually might look a bit messy as I like to tie them with the ends at the top so I stitched them in rows and then stuck them in place. So that leads me nicely into the button challenge at Crafty Catz.

What a fabulous day I had at Ally Pally on Saturday with Lynsey. I took my samples to Jayne at Stamposaurus and thankfully she was delighted with them. Here's a pic of the new stash I bought.

Yes, there are 30 rolls of double sided tape. I must get though about a roll a week and at 50p a roll at the show I just had to stock up. Nowhere in Norwich sells it at anything like that price. You will notice just one cute stamp and a set of cute stamps and sentiments, both from LOTV.

Bethlehem

I expect I shall be busy sorting out my new stash this morning so have scheduled this post, which is yet another sample for Stamposaurus. If you saw my post on Thursday you will have seen this image in blues and purples. This one is such a contrast as I went for browns, beiges and gold. The papers are Forever Friends Timeless. I used a MS star border punch, made a photo corner from kraft and added a LOTV grunge sentiment. Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

I would like to enter this into the browns and creams challenge at Crafty Calendar and Trip around the world at Fussy and Fancy.

Thank You

I haven't made a thank you card for a while but that's the challenge this week at Totally Gorjuss where you could win a prize from The Hobby House. I have used one of the sweet LOTV girlies, coloured wit Promarkers and Flexmarkers and edged with DI Faded Jeans. The backing paper is Echo Park Victorian Garden and the striped piece a remnant from my use up pile. I've used the MS doiley punch, MB butterfly, dragonfly and fence dies. Sentiment was made with a wooden stamp.

I was up very early today to get to the Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show at Ally Pally with my friend Lynsey. Hubby is driving us there, isn't he a star. Have made my list and looking forward to meeting up with a few fellow bloggers. Will catch you tomorrow.

Butterflies

This is my second post for today and after a couple of fairly cas cards things are back to normal and I'm back in my comfort zone of lots of layers and embellishments.

Did you know that Funky Kits are releasing some of the Simply Sassy girls as digis. I wanted this girlie, butterfly on her nose for a while but she sold it in rubber so I was delighted that she is one of the first released in digi. She has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with a touch of Sakura goldstar pen. The edges of the Nestie die cut image have been inked with DI Vintage Photo. Paper are a variety from my need to use up pile. I've used a butterfly charm and roses from Wild Orchid, MS punched fern leaves, MB butterfly die, Viva pearl pen, gold bow from stash and Craftwork cards sentiment.

This is one of the samples I have been working on.  It's a very traditional Christmas card, perfect for the traditional Christmas colours challenge at Christmas Crafting and choose a holiday at Paperplay. The lovely stamp is one of the new ones from Stamposaurus. I've used one of the gorgeous new ribbons from Crafty Ribbons. The image has been coloured with Promarkers and I've used a  Viva decor pearl pen for the white berries. The holly was made with a Woodware punch and red pearls.

Let's dress up

This is my second post for today. Please scroll down for my Crafty Ribbons DT card.

Now you will know that I find less is more quite difficult. I always want to add more but I nearly always enter Passion for Promarkers and this week the challenge is CAS so I thought I would give it a try. The image is from Stamposaurus and has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers of course. I have used DI Vintage Photo around the edges. Papers and sentiment are last years Forever Friends Timeless and the ribbon I found in my stash so that fits the challenge of show us your ribbons at Oldie but a Goodie. I would also like to enter fun and games at Craftyhazelnut and children at CRAFT

Vintage Journey

It's inspiration time with the second week of our challenge at Crafty Ribbons where our theme is Vintage. I decided to join in both weeks as I love making vintage cards as you know.

The backing paper is Bo Bunny Et cetera and was perfect for the card I had in mind. I used ric rac ribbon with a brad to look as though a journey was plotted on the map. Both the ric rac and seam binding which I distressed with DI Vintage Photo (there's a lot of that been used on this card) are from Crafty Ribbons. The car is Tim Holtz stamp from the Journey stamps set and the destination stamp from a Papermania journey stamp set.I used a Tim Holtz Sizzix die with thick kraft card and heat embossed them with copper. I rarely heat emboss bt love the effect so will try to do it more often. Finished off with a couple of TH wheels and cogs and a Kaisercraft travel ticket.

Here's the fabulous prize on offer.

I would like to enter this into the embossing challenge at Simon Says.

Knitted with love

This is my second post for today Please scroll down for a Stamposaurus sample.

Regular readers will know what a huge Sugar Nellie fan I am and this just might be my favourite, certainly in my top 5. She has such a sweet face and looks so well wrapped up. She has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with German glass glitter on her hat. All the edges have been distressed and I've used DI Vintage Photo, papers are Bo Bunny Snowfall and DCWV Winter Stack. I've added some kraft and white glitter MS punched snowflakes and baker's twine.

Sneak Peek 2

I'm sharing another of the new stamps from Stamposaurus. Isn't this fabulous. As soon as I saw it I thought of Moroccan colours. Coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with Sakura Goldstar for added sparkle. The gorgeous ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons. I've used a Woodware star punch, crimper and a gold star gen I found in my stash.

The new stamps will be launched at the Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show at Alexandra Palace this Saturday. I'll be there on Saturday so if you are going and see me please stop and say hello. I have my list ready, very excited to be going there again.

Daisie's Christening

This card was an order and as the occasion has now passed I can share the card with you. The couple had looked through my bog and specifically chose this cute LOTV image. I kept the colours on the image very soft to contrast with the deper pinks in the Henbury Lane papers. I used the MS heart border punch and the last of my K&Co daisies. As they had yellow middles I attached card candi to the middle and also used DI spun sugar. The doily is from Dovecraft, butterfly from The Works.

Sneak peek 1

I am busy working on some samples for Stamposaurus for display at shows and on their website. They have a lovely new range of stamps coming out and this is my first sneak peek for you. The images are great for those people who don't want cute girls and boys on their cards, something I get asked for at craft fairs. Coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with a touch of Sakura goldstar pen. I have used Di bundled sage around the image. I have used MS bird on a wire and cherish  boder punches, Memory Box bird die and ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.

I would like to enter this into the punch it challenge at Di's Digis and the use more than one 1 diecut or punch at Paper Shelter.

Relax it's your Birthday

Well I know it's more like Autumn now but I love this digi from Delicious Doodles, which has such a relaxing feel about it. Coloured with Promarkers and edged with DI Forest Moss. I don;t know why but after years of not liking green very much I am beginning to really like it. Maybe it's seeing all those Christmas cards. I blame my dislike of green on my bottle green school uniform, mind you that was many many years ago. Those large bottle green gym knickers did nobody any favours believe me.

Anyway back to my card. The papers are from my use up pile, Raspberry Road Summer Delights and a piece of K&Co Roam. I've used some faux suede leather trim and some decoupaged shells and lighthouse from my stash.Olive card is Core'dinations Darks.

T-Rex

Our challenge this week at Totally Gorjuss is RAWR and we are sponsored by Heather's Hobbie Haven. I saw this challenge as my opportunity to get another scrapbook layout made as I knew I had this picture of a dinosaur taken in the T-Rex restaurant in Orlando. It's such a great place to eat. It is owned by Landry's who also own the Rainforest Cafes so if you have ever visited one of those you know it will be a fun restaurant. There is a meteor shower across the ceiling every so often and there are themed rooms based on the different animals. Graham was feeling very hungry so he chose this meal, which was rather larger than he expected.

I thought this page was just right for a distressed look. I've used some K&Co papers which have been torn and edged wit DI Spiced Marmalade. I added some scrim, Tim Holtz recipe salvage sticker, one the edge bracket die cut and ticket for journalling, string recycled from a clothes ticket, Marianne die cut circle and star border and the title letters from Dunelm Mill.

Lilac and Lace

Over at Winter Wonderland it's my turn to host the challenge and I have chosen lilac and lace. We have 2 fabulous sponsors, Crafty-emblies who are offering a £10 voucher and Squiggle Stamps who are giving away 2 digis of the winner's choice. I have used the gorgeous Snowman papers with a cute Pink Gem image coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with lots of German glass glitter from The Hobby House. This is the last of this gorgeous lace, sadly. Pinsetties were made with Marianne dies and pearls from The Hobby House and I used a Viva decor pearl pen from My Crafty Heart around the image.

My first DT card for Crafty Ribbons

I was so pleased to be asked to join the lovely team at Crafty Ribbons and I am delighted that the first challenge is Vintage as I absolutely love making vintage cards. We are split into 2 teams although this is not my week to post a card Mandy thought it would be nice if all the new girls (!) posted this week too. Most of my vintage cards are brown and creams but I wanted to use this stunning french roses ribbon which you can buy here. I've used a floppy latte cameo silhouette, Marianne designs Eline's Huis papers, TH distressing tool, Wild Orchid flowers, MS punched rose leaves with sanded Core'dinations, pearl pins from The Hobby House and DI Bundled Sage.

I have some of the new Christmas ribbons which are being released every day at the moment and I can tell you, these are fabulous.

I have used one of the gorgeous ribbons from Crafty Ribbons. They have so many Christmas ribbons and more coming every day so do hop over and take a look. I won this cute stamp from Crafty Sentiments last year and I don't think I have ever used her before, hangs head in shame. It's not like me not to use a stamp. I may have several which have only been used once though. The papers are almost the last bits of the lovely Papermania Hampstead pack. Better late than never today. We visited my Mum today and I have only had time to make a couple of cards so thought best get one posted. This is a cute Little Claire image which has been coloured with Promarkers. Now I have said before I am jut not into green but I must admit it is growing on me, having used it a couple of times lately. The papers are Papermania Hapstead. Just a few odd sheets of this left now, which is a shame. I've used DI Forest Moss around the edges.. Now think, ribbon is just for girl's cards, not so. I've used some of the ric rac ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. The olive green matches my colour scheme perfectly. What, no image!

Good evening lovely people and what a fabulous sunny day it has been here today. Yes here I am in case you thought I wasn't posting today. I don't think I have missed a day this year yet and don't intend to unless I can't help it. Actually the second post yesterday was meant to be today's post but I was so busy adding Dt cards to admin blogs that I forgot to schedule it and after merrily linking it to challenges thought, oops that was meant to be today's which I would have linked this morning using the iPad.  We have had a lovely day out at Southwold, went for a really long walk near the beach and by the harbour and finished it with a late lunch. I had a prawn and crayfish tail salad and it was so yummy. For those of you who don't know Southwold it's a lovely old fashioned seaside, quite gentile with lots of beach huts which cost a fortune. It was used as the town East Lee in this week's drama A Mother's Son.

Any better get onto my card, which is a bit different for me and was one of the cards I taught my non cardmaking friend this week at her monthly class with me. This was the 3rd lesson and we haven't tried colouring, not sure if we ever will as she doesn't like cute images.

A rose for my sweetheart

These Lili of the Valley images of this couple have to be some of the cutest images suitable for anniversaries. I challenged myself to colour them only in red, black and grey apart from the hair. Not a couple combo I use much but I think they look adorable. I just had to give her red shoes like Dorothy.

The backing paper is from Hobbycraft and the other is Victorian Classic from Papercellar. They have been coloured with Promarkers with red glitter pen for the pattern on her skirt. I have used DI Worn Lipstick around the image. Ribbon and pearl hearts are from The Works, sentiment is Lili of the Valley, corner was made with a Memory Box die, Macarena corner, bow from Meiflower.

Coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with lots of glitter on the fur. \the papers are my absolute faves this year, Bo Bunny Snowfall and I love blue and brown together. Parisian chic

I bought a couple of items from Ebay which arrived yesterday. One of them was Tim Holtz Visual Artistry stamp set called French Market. These sell for about £20 but I got it for £4.50, bargain, and it was brand new. It's an anxious moment watching the last few seconds go on an auction wondering if someone will step in at the last minute and outbid you which is what happened to me on another on the edge die.

I stamped the Eiffel tower onto kraft, teamed it with the dress digi with french writing from LSS and a piece of torn dictionary with the word style highlighted. The backing paper of books is from BO Bunny Weekend Market, flowers from Wild Orchid and MS punched leaves. The sentiment is from a Teddy Bo stamp set. Lots of distressing and DI Vintage Photo.

Christmas Presents

It's funny how some weeks here are several challenges all with the same theme and this week it is shaped cards. I decided to challenge myself to make a large shaped easel cards using my large Nesties and Grand Caliber. I have to say these Nesties are very underused but I love the way this turned out so although it was very time consuming I really enjoyed making it.  The papers are from The Snowman pack, image is Lili of the Valley of course coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with a touch of Sakura clearstar and goldstar. I am so pleased with the gorgeou new grunge sentiment also from Lili of the Valley and they just cry out to be stamped onto kraft. I added a tag distressed with DI vintage photo. Snowflakes were made with MS punches, kraft and white glitter card.

So I made this card this morning using one of the older LOTV images, coloured with Promarkers with a Sakura goldstar pen on the dots. I don't use green a great deal, apart from Christmas cards, not really into green much. The papers are Papermania Happy Days and I added some Memory Box die cut clouds and umbrella. Elegance

I'm selling at a craft fair, my last for a few weeks, so I have scheduled a card a made a couple of weeks ago. This one sold the first time I took it to a fair. A lady bought it fora 92 year old as she said it would remind her of times gone by. Isn't that lovely and weren't people so elegantly dressed years ago. A bit different to today's hoodies and jeans. Mind you, wouldn't want to have to iron this.

The image has been edged in DI Antique Linen, the papers are from my need to use up pile, and I added some black flowers from a local shop with some red roses from USA, sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

When the Red Red Robin comes bob bobbing along

This is my second post today. I just had to buy this cute Christmas stamp even though I was going to wait until I get to Ally Pally before buying any new LOTV stamps. The image has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and I added German glass glitter to the snow. The papers are Forever Friends Timeless. I wanted to keep it neutral colours and just have a splash of red to match the robin's redbreast so I added some satin ribbon. The snowflakes are Kars wooden ones coloured with DI Antique Linen, Marianne die cut from karft and MS punched from white glitter card.

Christening

It's Saturday and that means another challenge at Totally Gorjuss and as it is the first challenge of the month we have a sketch for you. I really enjoyed working with this sketch and there is a lovely Joanna Sheen voucher waiting for the lucky winner.

I have been asked for Christening cards a few times so thought I had best make a couple. I have used the sweet LOTV image, the postcard is a Pink Gem digi. I wrote Christening on it with a Letraset Fineliner. The gorgeous papers are Lucy Cromwell and the hearts a Sizzix die. Minimum embellishments for me I know but somehow the card just didn't need any more.
