Heart plaques

Sorting through my wooden items to decorate I found these hearts and felt inspired to make them into plaques using some Fiskars sentiments, papers, Prima flowers and spotted ribbons from crafty Ribbons. The papers are Papermania Henbury Lane, Craftwork Cards chalkboard and the butterfly papers were some freebies with Making Cards magazines. Hopefully these will sell well.

Crafting from the heart anything goes

Well after resisting for a very long time I have finally joined Pinterest. Not too sure what I am doing with it all though I have managed to pin some of my creations so if you would like to follow me on there that would be great. I am sure it will all become clear as I go along just like it did when I started my blog. It took me so long to add some stuff though that I ended up with no time for commenting on blogs so apologies for that.

Back at lunchtime with a card.

Upcycling

I thought I would share these upcycled projects with you today. They were a commission for the June edition of Cardmaking and Papercrafts Magazine using old song sheets. You could also use musical papers of course. The ribbon and lace are from Crafty Ribbons, flower made with a Go Kreate die.

The bouquet was made with a Spellbinders scalloped die. I cut the circle, wrapped it around the flowers which I had wired together and then cut off the excess paper. Same ribbon and Memory Box die cut butterflies.

I bought the Fiskars quote sentiments in America and they were perfect for the project. I use a Go Kreate die, flowers and bow from Hobbycraft.

Mmm, glass of wine, don't mind if I do

My card for this week's challenge at Totally Gorjuss was made for a male friend's Birthday. The images and sentiment are from a Fiskars set of stamps. It took a little while to get the arrangement just right but I really like the result. As our challenge is Swirly Whirly I thought the swirly grapes and leaves were just perfect. I coloured the images with Promarkers and used a Sakura Green Star pen for some shimmer. For a change I used an MS corner punch I hardly ever use these on their own which is a shame as they are effective. The swirls were made with a Crealie die. The leaves were made with an X cut ivy leaf embossing punch but I thought they look like vine leaves. We are sponsored this week by Simon Says so hope you will be able to join in the challenge.
