Whew it's been far too hot today. Thunderstorms are predicted tonight and cooler temperatures from tomorrow thank goodness. Surfin' Safari and some exciting news

I can't get the song Surfin' Safari out of my head since I started making this card. The image and sentiment are from Pollycraft. The surfboard paper is from a 12"sheet by Karen Foster which I bought reduced for 15p from Crafty Emma's Store and the star paper is K & Co Americana. I used the MS cherish punch and some card candi, both great for male cards, and some Baker's twine.

Before I go to link up and do some commenting I must tell you my exciting news. I was checking my e-mails last night and was taken aback to receive one out of the blue from Linnie at Whoopsi Daisy saying she loved my work and asking me to be a guest designer for 6 months. So I hope you'll play along with this Sunday challenge with me.

Sailing home

Good evening. I hope you have all had a lovely weekend. We had a great time last night, lovely meal out and then saw Foorloose, which was fantastic. We've been out visiting all day and am out again tomorrow so apologies for not visiting your blogs for a couple of days. Will catch up with you all as soon as I can. It's great to see the entries coming in for the Winter Wonderland bloghop. If you haven't played along yet then I hope you will, as there are 22 prizes up for grabs this week.

Now onto my card, which is a bit of a change for me. When I won 5 digis last week from delicious Doodles, this was one I chose as I thought it would make a great men's card. I left the image black and white as I like the sketchy style of it. I used some scraps of papers and a star punch. I just love bunting and when I saw the fab sketch at Willow Sketchie knew this was the perfect sketch to use.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:

Teddy Bo - Beach bum

Thanks to those of you enquiring about my health. Thank goodness I haven't had any more spinning but still dizzy at times. Definitely not at my best at the moment. Dr confirmed it is labyrinthitis and to continue with the tablets. Normally goes within 2 weeks so fingers crossed.

Onto my card which features Teddy Bo. I could buy all these digis but when the new release came out last week this one made me smile so much I just had to buy him. The papers are K&Co Daisy and Americana and the beach ball is also K&Co.  Yes, that's the MS cherish border punch again.  I used my crimper roller for the first time for years. I wanted to give a beachy feel to this card with the ripples and the border which reminds me a bit of waves.

Blogger was playing up with commenting again yesterday, which was annoying as I was feeling a bit better yesterday afternoon and wanted to leave more comments than I managed. Pop up windows worked but after signing in about 20 times and still remaining anonymous I had to give up so apologies.

Little drummer boy

This is my second post for today. Scroll down if you are looking for today's Humphrey card. I've made an 8" square male Birthday card, wasn't that brave!!  I really wanted to showcase this fab digi  image from Pollycraft. The paper is from HOTP. I remembered I had some star pins which worked so well with the Sizzix cut stars. The MS cherish punch has been out again. I sorted through my brads and found the lovely metallic square and large round ones which add a bit more detail and shine. The sentiment is from the FF retro kit. Sizzix cut corners to finish.

Gone fishing

Another card made with an LOTV square. As there was a lot of whit space around the image I die cut it with a Nellie die. Papers are K&Co Hopscotch. I love these bright papers, just right for male cards. The border is also K&Co. I used one of my new punches which is Michaels own make. For those of you who have been to the US and shopped at Michaels I have exciting news. They hope to open in the UK at some stage, could be a couple of years time though. However they are going to extend their website to sell in the UK. How great will that be.

I've had a lovely day out today with my friend Lynsey. We visited 2 great craft shops and had lunch. Lots of lovely crafty chat and a few purchases of course. Why don't we have any good craft shops in Norwich? So a quick post from me tonight as I want to see the last of Gok's programme tonight at 8pm.

This is my hubby's Birthday card which he loved. He's always been a keen photographer so this Pollycraft digi image is just perfect and was a great image to 3D. I decoupaged the face, camera, camera bag and strap and shoes and then added glossy accents to his glasses, camera lens and flash.

Happy 3rd Birthday

Hasn't this little boy got two lovely big pressies to open on his Birthday. The image is one of the LOTV cute squares. I love the muted colours on this image which I have teamed with MME Wild Asparagus papers. As you can see the MS zigzag punch has been hard at work here. What did I use for male cards before I had it I wonder? I added some card candy and a Sizzix cut 3 to finish.

One for the boys

This week's challenge of men's cards at Penny Black had me thinking hard this week. I seem to have a lot more of their images suitable for females but once I matched the image with this K&Co Hopscotch paper and the fab sketch at Sketch Saturday the card came together. I added some card candy and a simple sentiment to finish.

I would also like to enter this into the challenges at:

Floating around

Did you manage to catch any of the Appley Dapply launch programmes on Create and Craft yet? It was so exciting to see my cards on the TV. I have had another parcel with yet more new products so start saving your pennies because these are delish.

Something different to show you today. As well as using up some of my papers I am determined to use some other stash this year as well. When I first spotted this topper in Sainsburys it was £2.99! All it had with it was 4 squares with buttons so rather expensive I though but very cute. Some time later browsing in the store I found them reduced to 25p so bought a couple. I have used the squares and the toppers were still sitting amongst my unused stash so I decided to use one for a change. Papers are K&Co Hopscotch punched with an MS zigzag punch. Ribbon and buttons to finish. Cute, I think.

Let's go Dotty

For our first challenge of 2011 at Winter Wonderland Lynsey has challenged the DT to go dotty. We are very pleased to welcome a new regular sponsor, which is Pollycraft, hooray. You may have noticed that I am a huge fan of Paula's fab images but of course I can't win, shame.

I needed a card for a friend's Birthday in a few days time and used this lovely LOTV bear for the first time. I coloured the image with Promarkers and tried to get an old plaster look to the unpapered wall. The papers are MME Wild Asparagus and the MS zigzag punch came out again. I have had these Woodware tool brads for ages and it's the first time I have used them, aren't they great. Sentiment and card candy are from Craftwork Cards.

Now you may have noticed I haven't been entering any challenges nor visiting your blogs. Well that's because I am on holiday in Orlando. I have one more scheduled post will be up tomorrow. I will be flying home this evening and will be home tomorrow. At the time of typing this on 21st December there are cancellations and delays so I am hoping that we got away on holiday OK and that we get home when expected. I'll let you know how the holiday went and what crafty stash I bought. I will also be buying some candy for one lucky follower so stay tuned as I will post this once I have settled back home.

Don't forget we have a DT call out at Winter Wonderland. I'd love to see some of you entering.

This is my second post for today and after a very girly card here's one for the boys. I was given this image ages ago and am not sure where it is from, may be Sugar Nellie. A bee, a bear and a surfer

Second post for today. Please scroll down for my Winter Wonderland card.

I had a lovely surprise yesterday as Emma at CES Challenges has asked me to be guest designer for her new challenge for September. The challenges start tomorrow so be sure to check it out. I also made the top 3 at Crafts 4 Eternity.

The socket on my laptop is playing up so I have to fiddle about with the lead to get it charging so am going to have to get it fixed. I'm thinking about getting a netbook as it is sometimes a nuisance only having one computer for 2 people to use and if it goes wrong how will I cope while it is being mended?

I coloured some images last night and as I have the day off work today I had time to craft after some housework was done. Three contrasting cards here. Teri at Delicious Doodles was celebrating her first birthday (of the online shop, not her personal Birthday!) last week and gave away a digi a day. She has a competition running to make a card using one of the free digis, so here's mine. I glittered the veins on the wings, papers are MME Wild Asparagus and Dovecraft, sparkly ribbon (which is just visble)is Laura Ashley. The sentiment was done on the PC and cut with a Spellbinder label die.
Other Challenges
The Pink Elephant sketch
One Stitch at a time Say it with shapes
A spoon full of sugar 3 flowers, 2 buttons and 1 ribbon
Papertake 3,2,1 (see above)

The second card is a bright one, no wonder he has his sunglasses on! The cool dude is from Freshly Brewed and the beach huts were a freebie. Papers are K&Co Hopscotch. I used my much neglected decorative scissors on the border, added some card candy, a couple of bird stickers and some glossy accents to his sunglasses. The sentiment is another K&Co chipboard one.
Challenges
The Craft Garden Beach huts
Stamptacular Two's better than one
Charisma Hot, hot, hot
Cute card Thursday Dieing for a punch! (No dies or punches)

Sorting through my stamped images I found this little bear sitting there. Some kind person stamped him for me ages ago. I used some old Papermania paper Simply Elegant and some strips of Craftwork cards lovely shiny paper along with a sentiment and some of their candy again. I added glitter to the icing on the cake and the pink candy. Flowers are Prima and Wild Orchid with leaves punched form glitter card.

Three for Tuesday

Three rather different cards from me tonight. The first card is a seaside one featuring Grace, a digi image, from Freshly Brewed, an image I won a few weeks ago. I sued an assortment of papers for this one and some K&Co chipboard embellies along with some pearls. I saw an article in a crafting mag about grounding your image so I thought I would try it by using Saffron Promarker at her feet for sand and I think it has worked really well.

This little fella from LOTV looks in a bit of a hurry, zipping along with his dog. I used Bev's lovely sketch at Lili of the Valley Papers are MME Wild Asparagus and K&Co Hopscotch. I added some sticky ribbon from an old Dovecraft male pack but had to miss off the bow, didn't think it went with the image. Sticky corners from an old Lakeland pack and squares and a star button to finish.

I decided to make a card with no stamping for a change. Yesterday I cut out a couple of butterflies using my friend Lynsey's Marianne die. The circle was cut with a Nellie die and the border was cut with an MS punch. I made the flower using retro punches and a brad and added some sparkly flowers.
