Gorjuss Bumblebee

After doing some tidying in the garden on Tuesday I decided to make a card. I had a pack of Gorjuss toppers on my desk and used this cute bumblebee image. I diecut it with a MFT wonky stitched oval and punched tags from the sides of the remaining topper using a Fiskars tag punch.  The papers are some old Crate Paper ones, burlap flowers are Docrafts.

Cake and balloons

I made this card for a friend's Birthday and can now share it with you. These Gorjuss Girl toppers are so pretty and i love making cards with them. I went for a shabby chic look, adding some lace, flowers and pearls from stash and a Dovecraft paper posies sentiment. I used a Doohickey tag die with sanded Core'dinations and an old stitch stamp from Tim Holtz which I haven't used for a long time.

Gorjuss Bee

I had a good time at Peterborough craft show though there were not as many stands as the last time I went. This seems to be a growing trend sadly. I even came home with some money! I did get some essentials and some nice papers and stamps and a few other goodies. I made this card for a crafting friend's Birthday using another of the lovely new Gorjuss Girl papers which I cut with a MFT wonky stitched oval die. The main papers are Anna Marie Blissful Pink and I used some scraps of various papers with various punches. One good thing to come out of my cardmaking classes is that I am using my old punches more. The borders were cut using a MFT stitched die.  The sentiment is LOTV.

Two Gorjuss Girls

This is another of the toppers I bought recently. They are all lovely but I just had to use this one as I love this colour combo. I found some lovely Gorjuss paper, added a doily, and a wooden heart coloured with a sparkle pen. The flowers are from The Works I think, butterflies from Poundland and I use my lovely old Martha Stewart fern punch.

New Gorjuss papers

We popped into The Range last week and of course I had to look at the latest Gorjuss Girl goodies. I found a pack of 4x4 papers each one with a different Gojuss Girl image printed on them. I teamed her with some Crafter's Companion vintage Wedding paper, cream burlap, LOTV sentiment, burlap flowers from America and a wooden butterfly from The Works.

I had a lovely day crafting alternating between crafting and doing a jigsaw whilst hubby was out. I can't share most of what I made yet as it is for upcoming celebrations and a magazine commission. I do have one of them scheduled for Friday but I may not have anything to blog before then. It depends upon crafting time this week.  We are off to a quiz night for charity tonight, line dancing class tomorrow lunchtime and getting ready for a craft fair on Wednesday at the hospital and then Thursday night I have my monthly cardmaking class.  Have a good week.

Gorjuss showers

I made this for a friend's daughter whose Birthday was yesterday. She loves Mary Poppins and in fact when she was much younger she played the young girl in the musical in London. We went to see it and she was brilliant. Now she is a trainee lawyer in London, quite a contrast.

Image - Gorjuss Puddle of Love
Medium - Copics
Papers - MFT
Dies - Go Kreate frilly 9, Memory Box umbrella and clouds
Sentiment - LOTV teenage girl

Looking forward to seeing my Mum today and going out for lunch with her.

With a heart

I love the Gorjuss Girls as you may know but I do find them tricky to colour. I coloured her with Copics and used victorian velvet DI around the edges. The papers are MFT beautiful blooms brights. Another sentiment from my stash, some pretty ribbon and a wooden heart button.

We are off to order a new shed today and have a look at some bathroom showrooms as we want to convert our bathroom into a shower room.

Purple and Gorjuss

I made this card for a friend who shares my love of purple and Gorjuss Girls.  A least that makes it easy to choose what to use on her card. I  prefer the small stamps but don't find them that easy to colour though especially their hair.  Mind you the bigger stamps are even harder.

Medium - Copics
Papers - MFT hearts and stripes
Dies - MFT stitched scalloped border, Joy vintage leaf flourish, MFT wonky stitched oval
Sentiments - Digistamp Boutique Happy Birthday and friends found in stash
Flowers - Wild Orchid
Butterfly - Poundworld

Challenges
As you like it favourite card shape (mine has to be square as I find it the easiest to work with and to embellish. The symmetry appeals to me more than rectangular.)

First colouring in mono

I have wanted to try colouring an image using just grey Copics and when Faye challenged us in the Copic group on FB it made me determined to give it a go. I have lots of these lovely little Gorjuss Girls stamps which come with such pretty packaging. I thought a small image would be a good starting point and apart from the hair I am quite pleased with the result. The wavy hair threw me a bit so I will try another image next time. I used Go Kreate frilly squares 10 die for the card base and MME touch of chalk paper. The image was cut with a MFT wonky stitched rectangle die and the umbrella is a Memory Box die. I wanted to keep it simple just adding some blue enamel dots for a splash of subtle colour.

Gorjuss for Crafts Beautiful

I made this card for the latest Crafts Beautiful magazine now in stores.  I was delighted to find it made the front cover, although only a small pic.

I coloured the Gorjuss Girl with Copics and used MFT papers, MFT stitched scalloped border and pierced rectangle dies.  The sentiment is LOTV and the leaf die is a Joy one.

I would like to enter this into the anything goes challenge at Simon Says.

Gorjuss Snowman

I am doing rather well in using some of my older stamps this year. I bought this Santoro Gorjuss snowman from somebody on Facebook a few years ago. Very easy to colour with Copics of course. The papers are Echo Park keepin' cozy.   I used a snowflake banner die from The Works and two of the MFT layered snowflake dies. The material sentiment is from Me to You.

Very pleased with my Christmas card makes so far this year. Have you made a start yet?

Simply Gorjuss

Every year I have a Gorjuss Girl calendar and diary. The calendar has such lovely pictures and I cut some out to use on cards. They seemed to pretty to just throw away and I do love a bit of recycling. The papers are from various Tilda packs. I rarely use so many papers on a card these days as I tend to go for simpler layouts. The sentiment is LOTV and I used three different Joy flower dies with more scraps of Tilda paper.

Time for something Gorjuss

It was my friend Lynsey's Birthday on Thursday and this is the card I made for her. She loves Gorjuss Girls, teacups (though like me, not tea), flowers and bunting so I incorporated all of these into her card. The paper is Pebbles Tealightful and I added a doily. The bunting is a MFT die and I used Marianne dies for the flowers.  I found the sentiment in my stash.

We went to a show at the theatre in Lowestoft last night with 4 friends and we all went for a meal first with another couple who live locally and were also going to the show. 6 of us stayed at the Premier Inn last night and this morning we are off out for a breakfast and a walk on the beach if the weather is nice before heading home.

Little Violet

Another very early start for us today. As this publishes we shall be setting up my cards and gifts at the hospital shop. Regular readers will know I love Gorjuss Girls and I bought several of these new smaller stamps. I do struggle with the hair colouring on them for some reason though.

Mini pictures

I am always looking for new ideas for gifts to make for my craft stall and I recently spotted some little pictures in a magazine using wooden frames. I knew I had some Santoro ones in my drawer of things I rarely use so I made some simple pictures. These two feature my favourite Gorjuss girls and the two below use the smallest of the new LOTV simply print precoloured digis.

Gorjuss butterflies

As you may know my favourite colour is purple but I do struggle with matching the Copics. There are so many variations of purple, some lilac, some pinker so I am really glad I bought a hex chart as recommended by Faye. It helped me to match the colours on this one and it came out better than my usual efforts at purple. You may also know that I love all things Gorjuss and am surrounded by Gorjuss items in my craft room. As I type this I am drinking coffee from my Gorjuss mug.

I love this colour combo and it makes a lovely change for Christmas cards. I bought this Gorjuss stamp from somebody a couple of years ago and I think I have probably only used it once. Sorting through my stamped images I cam across him so here he is.

Flower Girl

Time for a new challenge at Sugar Nellie, anything goes providing it is a Sugar Nellie image or one of the other stamps sold by Funky Kits such as the Gorjuss Girls. This is another of my new stamps which I coloured up to make a card for a friend who loves purple and Gorjuss Girls, what good taste she has! I love these girls but they are not that easy to colour for some reason and I am not entirely happy with my colouring on this one, could do better.

Anything goes for our monthly challenge over at Sugar Nellie, of course that is anything using a stamp sold at Funky Kits, home of Sugar Nellie. I used another new stamp. I seem to be very good lately at using my new stamps, just need to colour some of my older ones which have been stamped and never used.
