Christmas at the North Pole again

I am looking a bit different this morning after my visit to the hairdresser. My hair is lighter and quite a bt shorter. most of my life I have had long hair and I haven't had it this short for many many years. Now when I say short, it isn't short by any means. I will have to get my profile pic changed shortly so you can see. I am loving it, much cooler too in this weather.

I did warn you this week is mostly Christmas cards and here is another of my sample cards for Stamposaurus using one of their new Christmas stamps which is due out in September.

Snowpeople

I seem to have lots of Christmas cards to share with you this week. My new LOTV stamps came on Saturday and I finally got to play with them yesterday. I love snowmen and jut had to get this cute snow family which I coloured with Copics and added some stickles and Viva Decor pearl pen. The papers are Echo Park Winter Wishes. I love this colour combo for Christmas. I also just bought the new Memory Box night sky border which I added along with some baker's twine and a snowflake charm.

Candy Winner

We have had a really nice day out today, went to the coast and had a very long walk. It was very breezy at times and lovely and sunny without being too hot. I even managed to pop into a craft shop there and get a half price die and a new stamp.

I'm on the iPad so can't take a pic of the random org but it chose ........
number 15
so check out the candy post which is two posts below and if that is you please email me on the sidebar link so I can get the LOTV pad out to you.

Thanks to everyone for entering, welcome to my new followers and thanks for all your continued support and comments.

Quick update on the weight loss, 2.5lb off this week so am now 1 stone 1 lb lighter and some of my clothes are already too big. Onward and downward.

A little LOTV candy

You may have guessed by the short posts and lack of entering challenges that I have been away for a few days. I scheduled posts for each day and have scheduled this one so will change the date when we get home later today. We have been to the Cotswolds. At the time of typing it was due to be very hot which neither of us like, low 20s is hot enough for us. Still not much you can do about it.

I will have taken the iPad but doubt I will have got much blogging done. So I thought I would offer a little candy to say thank you to one of my lovely followers. Some of you take the time to visit and comment every day. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.

Edited when I got home to say that we had a wonderful sunny time. Am feeling so much better since starting the balance exercises. Spent most of the time outside so very little time on the iPad. Please bear with me until I have time to catch up with blogs x

I'm sure you will have seen these gorgeous sketch pads from LOTV. I was so lucky to visit the shop a while ago when we were away in Yorkshire and while I was there as well as buying two pads fro myself, vintage boys and fairies I bought two to give away. So today I am offering this one as candy. If you haven't tried these I thoroughly recommend them. 30 images for you to colour and the quality of the card is superb for colouring.

All you have to do is
Be a follower
Place a pic of the pad in your sidebar with a link to my blog.
Enter via the link below.

Candy will close 27 July.

Get Well Wishes

It's so strange that at craft fairs I don't sell any of a particular occasion and then suddenly I have a run on them. Last Saturday I sold 2 Get Well cards and my only Christening card and if I had another could have sold that too. Time to stock up on different occasions and what better way to say get well soon than some gorgeous flowers.

Motorbiking

The craft fair went well yesterday and this is one of the cards I sold. It's so funny that I always sell at least one of my most recent cards.

I was lucky enough to win some of Teri's fab images at Delicious Doodles a few weeks ago and this is one of the images I chose, a vintage motorbike. I have used lots of DI Vintage Photo, Spellbinders Mixed Media papers, Woodware chipboard shapes, Tim Holtz mini gears, hessian and a LOTV sentiment.

No papers and no image!

I made this card on Monday afternoon after making a card with a coloured image. It was so hot the inks were drying very quickly and trying to blend colours was proving challenging. I decided to make something different with no colouring after that and really pleased with the way it turned out. Great for those who want a non cute card.

I have wanted some 6 x 6 embossing folders for a while and finally got round to buying some from Crafter's Companions. I've used a flower folder with sanded Core'dinations. The large sentiment is a Stamposaurus stamp cut with a Nestie and coloured with DI Weathered Wood. The gorgeous butterfly was sent to me with some other die cuts I bought on Facebook. The flowers and corner are from Wild Orchid and the metal flower and pearl are from stash. I used shabby blue frantage on the butterfly and metal embellies. Unfortunately the metal embellies had very little are for the frantage to cling to so as soon as I started heat embossing from underneath I ended up with more frantage on me and my desk than the embellies!

I am selling at the hospital craft fair today so will link up when I get home this afternoon.

Mia

A very different colour scheme for me today. I do love using peach but don't often make such a citrus card but I have to say I am pleased with how it turned out. It's good to try out different colour combos don't you think? Really enjoyed colouring her hair, isn't it fabulous, would be rather hot though in this weather.

Happy 21st Laura

If you visit regularly, and thanks so much to those of you that leave me comments, you may remember a very girly pink graduation card last week for Laura. This is her 21st card I was asked to make for her Grandad. I am so pleased with the way this one turned out, a card I would send myself, without the 21 of course! I love the shaby chic, distressed look and mounting on black card for a change makes the colours really stand out.

A very special card

I made a similar card with this image in aqua and used it to advertise on a Facebook Page that I would be at a local fair a couple of weeks ago. Somebody saw it and came to the fair and asked if I could make it in pink but with a butterfly. I was very touched to be asked to make it as it is for a memory book. They had a stillborn girl 7 years ago and collect pretty things so my card will be preserved in her memory book.

The farmer's market and craft fair yesterday went really well and I sold lots of cards and had some great feedback with people asking if I would be there again as it is a fornightly market. I am booked in for the next one so hope that is as busy. First craft fair outing for yesterday's card and I sold it.  I also bought some lovely fresh vegetables too and resisted all the delicious cakes and pastries.  Quick update on the slimming, 9.5 lbs lost in 4 weeks on Slimming World which is a total of 12.5 lbs lost this year.

Christmas in July

Time for the weekly challenge at Lili’s Little Fairies and this week we want to see your Christmas cards. I know the weather has been gorgeous and Summery but we are nearer to this Christmas than we are to last so if you want to get ahead it's the perfect time to get another card made. I'm sure you must have loads of gorgeous LOTV images to use, I know I am spoilt for choice.
Image - LOTV diecut
Papers - Echo Park Winter Wishes

I did have more frantage on the card but I found the heatgun was taking the sticky off the double sided tape and my laters were starting to lift so I had to remove the bits which hadn't already melted and restick my layers. Previously I have only used it on one layer so haven't had this problem.

I was very pleased  to be asked to be a guest designer for this week's challenge at Delightful Challenges. I chose Singing Sally to make my card, isn't she a cutie. She has been coloured with Copics. The paper is Papermania Ahoy There. I used the whole sheet by using the strips as embellishments. The sentiment was a mag freebie and I added some crimped Woodware punched stars.

Number One Ted

I bought this cute little LOTV stamp a while ago and finally got round to using him. I have been asked a few times for a general well done card so thought he would do perfectly. He has been coloured with Copics and die cut with Nesties. The papers are Prima Youth and suitable for male or female. I used some Xcut nesting dies and Spellbinders arrows along with some Crafty Ribbons nautical ribbon. Quite a simple card for me.

Once it gets over about 24 degrees I really don't like it much.

Midway reminder time for our Die-ing for it challenge at A Little Bit Crafty. This card was for an order for a friend's daughter who has achieved a 2:1 and also got a job, which is great news. She is a girly girl and is mad about pink so I thought it would amuse her to have a pink cap and gown rather than black.

North Pole House

One way of cooling down in this hot weather is making Christmas cards.Thinking of snow and snowflakes is lovely in this heat. Today I am showcasing one of the new Amanda Loverseed stamps now available from Stamposaurus. The stamp is on their revamped website and this card is one of the samples which will shortly be on their gallery and show stand. I love Amanda's quirky style and I have 2 other great stamps to play with too. It has been coloured with Copics with loads of Stickles added. I found the paper in my oddments pile and added some baker's twine, Christmas tree charm and Prima flowers with yet more stickles.

C'est Francais

I places an order last weekend with the lovely Teresa at My Crafty Heart and one of the things I bought were some new Spellbinders Ephemera papers. They are quite thin, double sided and full of really interesting images which you can cut out and use on your creations. So I decide to have a play and for my card I used 3 sheets of the paper including one for the backing. I cut the main image from another sheet and the stamp on top of the image and the Paris plaque on the left hand side from another.

I used a TH distressing tool and DI Frayed Burlap. I added a die cut Dienamics Eiffel tower and some jute. The other die cut was made using part of a Sizzix sign die. I also used the words Carte Postale and the Paris watermark from part of a TH French Market clear stamp stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa on the backing paper at the bottom left and up the bottom right hand side.

Vintage Sewing

Got back yesterday from a lovely few sunny and hot days in the Cotswolds. Sticking to my Slimming World plan was more difficult when you are eating out but I chose wisely. Pleased to say that the balance exercises are really helping with my balance and dizzy issues so feeling great at the moment despite catching a Summer cold. It feels wrong having a cold in the sunshine. I'll be bloghopping as soon as possible. At the moment the holiday washing is in the machine.

This week at Crafty Ribbons our challenge is anything goes with ribbon. I love making this style of card so much as you may have noticed and aim to make each one different. The image is from free vintage digital designs, paper from Marianne Designs Eline's Huis. The lace and tape measure ribbon are both from Crafty Ribbons of course and the gauze from LOTV. I've distressed all the edges and used DI Vintage Photo on the image, paper and ribbon. The dress form and cotton reel are MB dies. I've added a pin and pearls from The Hobby House. Looking for something to add to it I remembered I bought some little frames so added one and used glossy accents to look like a picture with glass.

Time to catch up on some challenges after being away.

Retiring to enjoy the garden

A card today using diecuts and a punch. I tried to make this suitable for men or women with these colours. I have used a Joy birdhouse die with distressed Core'dinations, Marianne bench, MB branch and butterflies. The flowers were made with a small Xcut punch with pearls. The stamp is LOTV.

No Image Wedding Card

This was on order for a couple who don't like anything too fussy. I was asked for something with no flowers, no wedding couple, you get the picture. This is what I came up with. The papers are Prima Roses in Harmony, dies are Impression Obsessions lovebirds and La La Land hearts banner. I added some of my favourite ribbon from Crafty Ribbons and used a MS hearts border die.

Must admit I'm not very happy with it but my Mum who ordered it said it was perfect, just what she wanted and the customer is always right.

Look what Hubby bought me

No card to share today so I thought I would share a picture of a Gorjuss luggage label hubby bought me last week. When we were in Cromer last Saturday we popped into a shop I knew stocked a lot of the Gorjuss Girl range where I found the lovely Ruby on this luggage label. Hubby immediately said I'll buy that for you, isn't he kind. He know how much I love these girls and I don't have one of these. Of course I won't be entrusting this on my case when we travel abroad but will use it on my hand luggage. Not sure it would still be attached when we got to the other end otherwise.

Enjoy your Sunday x

Snowy Postcard Easel

Team Snowflake's challenge this week and our newest member of the team, Susan is hosting at Winter Wonderland. Our challenge is easel cards and the DT have a variety of shaped easel cards to inspire you.  We are sponsored this week by The Hobby House who are offering a £10 voucher to one lucky winner.

I've used the gorgeous Stampendous Snowy Postcard stamp I bought at the end of last Christmas so didn't get too much chance to use it. That will change this year so expect to see it a lot more. I stamped it in DI Vintage Photo and heat embossed it with frantage. The first time I have managed to use it without any mess on my desk, hooray. The papers are some old Forever Friends ones which fitted in with my idea of keeping this card neutral. I've used the lovely MB Frostyville border die and an MS snowflake border punch which has been used with white glitter card but not sure the glitter really shows up.

Building a Snowman

Our challenge this week at Lili’s Little Fairies is Red, White and Blue in honour of today being the 4th of July. I decided on a Christmas card as I love that colour combination for Christmas, well I love most colours for Christmas actually. I've used on the pre coloured die cuts and added lots of Stickles. I created a sketch using lots of papers, which are from an old DCWV Winter stack and an old Papermania pack. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and the Snowflakes were made with an MS punch. Quite a simple card for me.

Another busy day ahead, bit of housework and ironing and then some gardening before heading up to my craftroom. I seem to be playing catch up with my DT work at the moment and really want to try to get more ahead which is where I like to be.

I've used one of the cute Wee Stamps pre printed squares from The Hobby House and added DI Milled Lavender and used a Viva Decor pearl pen on the roses. What The Librarian Reads

It's challenge time again over at A Little Bit Crafty and this month is to use my favourites things, dies. Yes our challenge is Die-ing for it.  One of our sponsors is Saturated Canary and the DT were lucky enough to choose an image to use. I chose What The Librarian Reads, such a fun image. I love her old fashioned hair and glasses which contrast with the young face, shapely body and choice of books. I decided to give her a serious brown cardigan and then show off that other side of her with red lipstick and a red skirt. The papers are Bo Bunny Weekend Market. I added a dictionary page, Tim Holtz film strip die and Marianne corner die. Lots of distressing, DI Vintage Photo and sanded Core'dinations for a vintage feel.
