And here is the wizard

I don't celebrate Halloween or have anyone to send Halloween cards to but these images are so cute they make great Birthday cards.

As promised here is the wizard. Another simply print from LOTV. As these are already coloured they do make for quicker cards. I used black soot distress ink around the image and again added some waste stars from yesterday's card. The sentiments are again from the LOTV Halloween and magical sentiments set.

Happy Halloween if you celebrate it.

Cute little witch

A bit later than usual with my post today. I made two cards yesterday morning but didn't have time to schedule them as we went to visit my Mum in the afternoon. We set her up with Netflix as there is so little to watch on mainstream TV. Mum reads my blog so hope you are getting on ok with Netflix Mum.

I used one of the new LOTV simply prints for my card. The papers are First Edition Wanderlust. I added a little black soot distress ink around he edges of the image. I decided it was time some older dies got used so out came the star border and the Memory Box precious star dies.  I added some of the waste stars around the girl. The sentiment is from the new Halloween and magical set from LOTV.

Back tomorrow with a wizard.

Mr Snowman

I haven't been in the craftroom for a few days. At the weekend we both felt a bit poorly, nothing specific, just really lethargic, no energy and occasional pains. Thankfully on Monday we felt back to normal and decided to go into the city for the day and do some Christmas shopping. We have gor most of it done now as we don't want to be shopping nearer Christmas when it will be much busier. We had a lovely day as it wasn't too crowded. Bill's were doing special price lunches so we enjoyed a leisurely lunch before doing a bit more shopping.

The weather was really miserable yesterday and the light was very poor for taking photographs.  I did manage to improve it slightly with Photoshop. I used two of the new kraft and white digi papers from LOTV and an old favourite rubber stamp Mr Snowman. He is now available as a digi stamp. Coloure with Copics, sentiment is LOTV and I added some diecut trees and a Whimsy fence and some sparkle on the snow and baubles with a clear sparkle pen.

You will know how much I love snowmen so when I saw some snowmen masks on Ebay I had to buy us one each. We will be wearing those a bit nearer to Christmas.

Stay safe x

Penguin and present

I got back in the craft room and had a play with some of the new digi papers and a cute penguin digi. The papers, glitter papers and image are all one layer making a nice flat card for posting. I coloured the penguin with Copics and added some Stckles for snow and on his hat. The sentiment is from LOTV and I added some diecut trees and punched snowflakes from glitter card.

My stock of Christmas cards is coming along well but still more to make. Hope yours are coming along well too.

More from the holiday

A few more from our holiday. A glorious sunny day in Falmouth

A visit to the Cornish seal sanctuary where they do marvellous work rescuing abandoned and injured seals. Most are returned to the wild and if that is not possible eg one of the seals is blind, then they are given a home there.

One of many lovely long beach walks.  Now we are home, refreshed and ready to face the Winter.

Returning home from holiday

Well having cancelled so much this year we wondered if we would be cancelling our October holiday which we had rescheduled from June. Thankfully we did get away and had a lovely relaxing time in Cornwall, which has very low cases of Covid. If it had been high we wouldn’t have gone. The picture is the lounge of the cottage where we have stayed the last couple of years. It is always spotless and so comfortable.

We didn’t visit some of our favourite places like St Ives as it has very narrow streets and tiny shops so social distancing would be challenging. We had some lovely days out though and we were impressed with people following the guidelines.

We ate out at lunchtimes and always felt very safe. We got back to the cottage late afternoons and we were happy to stay in, relax, have easy prepare meals, do a jigsaw, read and watch Netflix or Amazon on the large screen smart TV.

This was Trebah Gardens.

We had an overnight stop at Premier inns both ways as it is a long journey from ours. Today we are on our way home. More pics tomorrow.

China Vase

My card today uses a LOTV coloured art pad image called China vase which you can now buy as a digi stamp.  I diecut it using that pretty circle die again. The papers are some old Craftwork Cards ones. I added flowers, ribbon and pearls and a paper butterfly from a pack I bought ages ago in Poundland. I haven't been in there much lately but when I have they haven't had any good craft items.

Rusting away

Yes it's another scrapbook page. When we saw this old rusty truck in Key West Graham got out his hankie and pretended to be cleaning it which made for a fun picture. Key West is beautiful and we had a lovely few days there one year before heading back to Orlando. We used to get the trolley outside our hotel into town, stopping off at various points and hopping on another one. There was a Cuban coffee stall near this truck and Graham had the strongest coffee I have ever seen. He loved it but you couldn't drink many of those.

I wanted to go for a grungy look to go with the car so sanded bits of the Core'dinations card. I found a few suitable stamps and stickers. he grungy postcard is an old LOTV stamp which was just right for a bit of journalling.

Wizard Birthday

Isn't he a cute wizard, the perfect image for any Harry Potter fans. The papers, image and sentiment are from the new Halloween range from LOTV.  There are some lovely sentiment and as each word is separate it is easy to put together your own sentiment. I coloured him with Copics, added the star half circle die and used star punches.

Purple butterflies

I love butterflies and use the a lot on my cards. I made this butterfly outline die the main focus of my card. The paper is Crafter's Companion. I found some small doilies in my stash so cut one into quarters for two corners. I used lots of dusty concord DI. The sentiment is LOTV. I added a flower spray sing flowers from Wild Orchid and a Britannia die cut in half.

Changing weather

Yes I finally did some more scrapbooking. There can be a real  contrast in the weather in Winter in Florida as you can see. I am so glad we had some great holidays there as we won't be going any more. These photos were both taken a few years ago. The bottom one was from a particularly cold spell we had for a couple of days. Graham was videoing in Busch Gardens as we rode round on the train and his hands were so cold her had to stop filming. They had covered all the tender plants and even put some of them into the toilets to keep them warm.

I bought the diecut at the bottom in a lovely little scrapbook shop in Lakeland and it went perfectly with my layout.  The stitched sun and clouds were made using MFT dies. The sweater is from Hobbycraft bought a few years ago and the mittens were from a Christmas set bought in Florida.

Witches aren't just for Halloween

It's launch day at LOTV for a set of witches, wizards, Halloween extras, sentiments and more lovely papers. I used Toadstool witch along with some toadstools from the extras. The papers, backing card and sentiment are all from the new paper range. I don't make Halloween cards but this little witch is cute enough for a Birthday card.

I coloured her with Copics. I used a Memory Box tree, Crafts Too toadstool and grass and Joy butterfly dies.  I coloured the sky with chalk and then used my Copic blender pen on it for a change.

Well it looks like the weather should improve this week. We have certainly had our fair share of rain the last few days. At the weekend we only ventured out for back massages on Saturday and breakfast at the garden centre with friends yesterday. Have a good week everyone.

Get building

I made this card for a builder friend. I thought the Hunkydory topper was perfect and was really pleased to find the brick paper in my stash.  I think it was a mag freebie. I added some wooden chevrons and Tim Holtz game spinners along with a sentiment from LOTV.

Building a snowman

I know it has been a few days since I last blogged but I haven't been doing as much crafting as usual. I really enjoyed  creating this vintage looking card though. With all my craft fairs cancelled and the vintage tearooms/gift shop closed I haven't had the need to make as many cards. I do want to get more Christmas cards made though and a friend asked me to make hr two Birthday cards. I will also get round to some scrapbooking I have promised myself.
