Magnets

This morning we shall be off to the hospital to set up the retail unit ready for tomorrow.  This year we are trading on our own so fingers crossed it goes well. I have been busy making lots of extra stock to fill it and here are a few of the magnets I have made. Cats and dogs are always popular images so I bought some wooden ones from Ebay and added wooden hearts and lettering. The Home sentiment is from Inkylicious.  I buy the wooden coasters from MDF Craft Supplies and cover them with paper and add magnetic strips to the back.

We had some devastating news on Saturday morning. Our best friends' 40 year old daughter was rushed into hospital late Friday night, had a blood clot on the brain causing a heart attack and she died. You never know what is going to happen in life so make the most of it and enjoy yourself. She certainly did and packed more travel into her life than most people do in a lifetime. She had visited every American state, some more than once. Very sad that she is gone.

Key to my heart

I have several things sitting in a folder on my laptop which I have made but haven't yet blogged and today is one of those. This was part of a feature I made for Papercrafter using Docrafts papers. I made three cards and two gifts. The rest have been blogged so today is the last of this feature.
I made a heart magnet using a MDF heart from MDF Supplies. The sentiment was part of the papers and was diecut with a Lawn Fawn stitched circle die. I added small MDF hearts coloured with white Wink of Stella and a diecut key using a Marianne die.

Tomorrow I have a very special post for you and I hope you will all leave me a comment tomorrow.
We are out with friends tomorrow afternoon at the coast, going for a walk then trying out a new restaurant, well new to us, then of to a  charity quiz night to test our brains.

Magnets

Today I am sharing a few of my recent fridge magnets, some made with my new Inkylicious sentiments.  I have been amazed at how many magnets I have sold since I started making them.

Home is where the heart is

I have been playing with my Zig Woodcraft pens after admiring Carol's plaques when I went to see her lovely stall last week. I loved the effect she does on her plaques and tried it out on these magnets. I think the paint pens dry to quickly to achieve the crackle effect but I like the way the colours blend and I added some crackle accents to get the crackle. I left the bottom one solid. To get the effect on the top two I painted one coat, then when it was dry added streaks of PVA glue, let that almost dry and then painted the other colour on top. I found the Kaisercraft letters in my scrapbook stash and added a wooden house to one and enamel hearts to the other two.

More gifts

I am sharing a few more gifts with you today. The first of these are these little MDF houses which I bought at Ally Pally. I only bought 4 to try out. I painted them with Zig Woodcraft pens and then wondered how to decorate them. I remembered I bought some leaf ribbon at the first NEC craft show I went to several years ago, possibly from Crafty Ribbons. It was perfect for the design I had in mind. I added some rose and mni sweethaert blossoms from Wild Orchid and butterflies from Hobbycraft.

These are some more magnets I made as they are proving popular. I found the shoes sentiment when I was having a sort out. I think it was from a Crafter's Companion stamp. The shoe die is a Marianne one I bought a couple of years ago and I think this was its first outing. The other two sentiments are Inkadinkadoo. I used MFT and Lawn Fawn dies to cut them out and added some enamel dots and hearts.  I would like to enter these into the add a quotation challenge at Cute Card Thursday.

More gifts

Some more new gifts which I shall have for sale today at the hospital shop. I used some stamps which came with Simply Cards and Papercraft along with some cat and dog dies and various papers and ribbons. The MDF plaques are actually sold as beach huts and you may have seen some of those on my blog before which I decorated as beach huts. I thought they also worked as houses.

Something else new I am trying, fridge magnets. I added a strip of magnetic tape to the back of the MDF hearts.

For these ones I used Fiskars and Inkadinkadoo stamps along with wooden embellishments and a Memory Box umbrella die.
