So elegant

Another commissioned card for a female in her early 20's. I love being given free rein to make a card and chose to use an old Docrafts art deco pack. I have a few suitable cards in sock and sent the person some photos but she chose this one which is the one I was going to give her. I added some small white feathers and flowers from Wild Orchid.

Today is my Mum's Birthday so I will be sharing her card tomorrow as she looks at my blog every morning. We will be going to see her this morning and taking her out to lunch. That will be another week of August gone. Looking forward to the children going back to school and lots of holidaymakers going home so we can go the coast again. Much too busy for us at the moment.

Art Deco Anniversary

Another commissioned card using an old Docrafts Art Deco pack. I have had these for years and every now and again I make a card with them. They are lovely images though I am less keen on the shiny papers these days. I prefer a matt paper.

I found a lovely font on my laptop, Asimov to use for the sentiment.  I coloured two wooden hearts with a Nuvo sparkle pen and used flowers from Wild Orchid and added some heart bunting.

Art Deco

Another quick card today, this time using an old Docrafts art deco pack. I sold out of Anniversary cards a while ago so trying to get a few quick ones made before the next craft fair. The papers and image are from the pack and I added some hearts, flowers from Wild Orchid and a Stamposaurus stamped sentiment.

Tonight I have my last cardmaking class before Christmas.  This time they will be either decorating a bag or making card, the choice is theirs as the design examples I have are square so will suit either and then after coffee and cake they will be making tags.

Art Deco Anniversary

I made this card for some friends whose Anniversary was yesterday. I wanted to make something a bit different as I usually go for cute images but as they enjoy cruising I chose some old art deco papers and an image I have had for years. They are beautiful images, though our friends don't look quite this elegant on their cruises!  I added some punched leaves and roses from Wild Orchid along with a wooden heart.

Post it holder and bag

These are the last of the items I made with the free Docrafts papers for Papercrafter magazine. I was asked to make 2 papercrafted items. The first is a post it holder. I make a lot of these for my craft stall. I added a couple of punched holly leaves and a flower from Hobbycraft.

Secondly I made a gift bag. Everything is from the paper pack except the robin ribbon which is from Crafty Ribbons and I used my new favourite edging die from MFT.

A very busy day today. I am at the local council staff Christmas Fair  at lunchtime, set up is from 10am. Then will be popping home before going to meet Lynsey for a meal about 4.30 before her college course. We will then be heading of to set up the hospital shop unit for trading tomorrow. Then it will be home, hot chocolate and The Apprentice before bedtime ready for an early start tomorrow.

Last day of November

This is another of the cards I have published in the current issue of Papercrafter using the free Docrafts papers. The sentiment is part of one of the papers. I added some burlap from he Range and used a Marianne die to diecut a poinsettia from another of the papers. The holly branch is a Memory Box die. I used my favourite Go Kreate Frilly squares 10 die to create the shaped card.

So this morning the plumber is coming to service the heating. Once he has gone we need a quick clean round the house. Tonight we are out again with friends, this time for a carvery and then to see That'll be the day Christmas show. They are a fantastic troupe who perform songs mainly from the 50's, 60's and 70's with a bit of 80's thrown in too. Lots of fun, some comedy sketches and great musical performances. The Commitments show on Monday was excellent, great music and very funny.

Docrafts for Papercrafter Magazine

If you have the latest edition of Papercrafter magazine you will see the lovely free papers from Docrafts along with some useful nesting dies. I was asked to make 3 cards and 2 papercrafted items from the free papers.  Today I am sharing 2 of the cards with you. For this one I decoupaged the robin, added a doily, some punched holly leaves with card candi and ribbon from Crafty Ribbons

Most of the elements on this Z fold card are from the free papers. I added some punched holly leaves coloured with white Wink of Stella, a Marianne die cut poinsettia and used a MFT scalloped border edge die.

These Gorjuss Girl stamps are suitable for any age. I had an order a while ago for a 60th card using this image and the same person asked for the same image for her little girl's 3rd Birthday card. This is an 8" card which gave me plenty of scope as these images are quite large.

Dear Alice

Time for another Anything Goes at The Sugar Bowl but remember you must use a stamp from Funky Kits. Now mostly these are Sugar Nellie stamps of course but they also sell some Gorjuss Girls. I made this card for a friend's Birthday. I have to say the image was quite a challenge to colour and of course I chose the colour I find most challenging to use, purple. It doesn't matter which pens I have used over the years I have always found purple the most difficult, both in terms of blending and bleeding. However I got there with the second image I tried and I love it. I kept to the Alice in Wonderland theme with the crockery and playing card.

Not just Pretty but Gorjuss in Pink

I really didn't need any more stamps at the moment but when I saw the new Gorjuss Girls from Docrafts I couldn't resist this one. Isn't she adorable. There were lots of curly bits around the oval frame but it made her very big for a 6" card so I just used the oval. I decided to get messy with a bit of frantage too which I haven't used for a little while.   I really loved making this card. I make some and think mmmmm it is ok or quite nice but this is one of the ones I am very pleased with.

Anniversary in Paris

I asked for some of the new Docrafts art deco toppers for Christmas as they make quick cards and are so popular at craft fairs. I teamed it with a sentiment and papers from the previous art deco collection and a die cut Eiffel Tower. A simple but striking anniversary card.

Check out my blog tomorrow for updated news explaining my absence.

Gorjuss Time

Of the three craft fairs last week, two were great, one was disappointing. In fact of the two good ones, one was my best ever fair. In total at the three fairs I sold 55 cards, some tags, notebooks etc and some craft stash.  My stock is rather depleted now so I shall be working to replenish that as I have four more fairs this month.

Here's something you don't see on my blog much, decoupage. It is popular with customers and as I needed to make some quicker cards last week to build up my stock again thought I would use this image I found already made up in my stash.

Art Deco and new feather die

I'm off to sell at a craft fair this morning so a quick scheduled post from me. A very simple card using paper, sentiment and topper from the gorgeous Art Deco range from Docrafts. I was lucky enough to win a voucher for Stamp and Create's fab online store and I chose the gorgeous Doohickey feathers die along with some charms. I love the Doohickey dies but my goodness, why are they so much more expensive than other dies? I used sanded Core'dinations and added some Prima flowers and Wild Orchid roses. I would like to enter this into the Wild Orchid Anything Goes challenge.

Steampunk cogs and clocks

Something very different today. As much as I love making cute and pretty cards sometimes I love playing around with something like this. I had no idea where I was going with it to start with but once I had decided on the Docrafts Chronology papers the card grew from there. I used a Marianne key die and a Sizzix on the edge steampunk die which I heat embossed with WOW copper powder. The clock charm is from Wild Orchid and I finished it off with some frantage.

The forget me nots have finished so they all need taking out and once the weeds are also removed we can see what space we have for more plants. We also want to sort out which pots we are going to use this year. Then we will be off to the garden centre for lunch and some plant buying.
