Cross stitch tags

I have been busy sewing this week to make more things for today and tomorrow’s craft fairs. They are both about a 20 minute drive away and today’s is 11-2 and tomorrow’s 11-3 which suits me just fine.

I got this pattern for min presents from Catkin and Lillie’s Etsy shop and have been enjoying cross stitching them and attaching them to gift tags. I used an old Little Claire sentiment stamp which is just the right size for tags.

I have lots of odd pieces of perforated paper left from making snowflakes so these are a great way of using them and also using odd pieces of embroidery cottons.

Special request

A friend showed me a picture of something similar to these and asked if I could make some for her mother in law for scrapbooking. She chose the sentiments which I created on the laptop. I diecut the flowers using a flower set which came with a magazine, added the buttons and diecut the banners using a MFT pierced banner die. I made 10 in total all with different sentiments.  The spotted flowers were diecut from card to make them stronger. Luckily I had 5 different colours of  spotted card.

Tree tags

I need to make several tags, not too large or elaborate, as I do prefer to use handmade tags on my presents if possible. I used products from Craft Label for my tags. The papers are First Edition North Star and Almost Christmas. I was lucky to find that the First Edition bunting dies were perfect to use upside down as trees. I especially love the middle one which looks just like a tree decorated with baubles.
I used the adhesive glitter sheets from Dovecraft which is so easy to use especially as it sticks to itself whereas sometimes trying to stick glitter card to glitter card can be tricky. The pearl stars and glitter twine are also new from Craft Label. They have a clearance sale on their website at the moment so head over and check them out. Click on the link in my sidebar.

Christmas tree tags

As part of my new Craft Label stash I received these lovely glitter buttons and tartan bows. I knew immediately that I would make some tags with them. I used a tag punch from Hobbycraft, stuck the buttons and bows on using glue dots and used some of the Christmas twine from my new Craft Label stash.

Not much else to say about them really. I need to get some more tags made plus finish my Christmas cards. I must also make some cards using the new LOTV bears.

We have a new mattress coming this morning so we had to be up early as the time slot is 7-1. We have to strip the bed and get the old mattress into a bag they gave us so they can dispose of it.

Yes, more tags

I am really pleased with the way these ones turn out. I decided to make some coloured tags for a change. The stamps and dies are Lawn Fawn coloured with Nuvo glitter pens. I used an old Little Claire sentiment stamp and doodled around the edges for a bit of added interest.

A day in the city today, dentist and haircut for hubby, Christmas shopping for me, meeting up for lunch.

More tags

Another set of tags today this time using a Lawn Fawn forest border die and Mama Elephant stamps. I fussy cut the snowmen and penguins and coloured with with a mix of Copics and Nuvo sparkle pens.  I am so pleased with my large tag punch from Hobbycraft as it is so much quicker than diecutting tags.

Card-io tags

My first craft fair for November is next Saturday so I thought I should make some packs of tags. Today's tags were made using Card-io stamps.  The possibilities with these stamps are endless.

Another night out last night, this time for an Italian meal and a trip to the theatre to see a comedian, Josh Widdicombe. I have some ironing to start off with today then more crafting. How are your Christmas cards coming along? I make them all year but still have more to make. Enjoy your Sunday.

Cross stitch tags

I spotted a pack of cross stitch tags to make in Dunelm last week and here they are. There are 4 patterns in the kit, the others are a heart and a mitten but I preferred these.  They were quick to make and now I have the patterns to use again.  They came with plain tags to back them and some cream ribbon which I kept to use on something else as I preferred to use Christmas ribbon which is from Crafty Ribbons.   MFT make a cross stitch tag die so I may treat myself to that once it comes back into stock as it comes with a scalloped tag die as well as the cross stitch panel.

We are out for a meal tonight and then going to the theatre to see one of our favourite singers, Midge Ure. You may remember him from Ultravox. We have seen him more times than I can remember over the years and were so pleased he has come to Norwich.

Penguin tags

I had a play with my Copics yesterday afternoon, something I haven't had enough time for lately.  I have ben longing to use these new penguin stamps and dies from MFT. It was such a gloomy horrible day yesterday so the photo doesn't really do them justice.

I used a Spellbinder tag die and some MFT border dies with the spotted card. The sentiment is an old dinkie one from Little Claire which is perfect for tags.

We are out again tonight, meal with friends and then Chicago at the theatre. It is performed by one of the high schools and our friend's 15 year old daughter is in it. Last year's production of We Will Rock You was amazing.

Diecut tags

As this scheduled post is published I shall be on my way to the hospital shop for the last time this year. I am hoping for good sales as December was my best month there last year. I wanted to try something different with some Christmas tags this year as I like the idea of two layers with the di cut out of the top layer. This of course then gave me some diecuts to use as well. I used an old tag die, Spellbinders I think, MFT layered snowflakes, Dovecraft reindeer and Craft emotions trees.  I added some white wink of Stella to the trees and white gel spots on the kraft deer.  I would like to enter these into the anything goes challenge at Simon Says.

Elephant tags

For my guest designer post for My Mum's Craft Shop I decided to make some cute tags using MFT adorable elephant stamp and die set and Pebbles tealightful papers. I coloured the images with Copics and added clear Wink of Stella to the butterflies and a little bow to the kite. The tag die is a Spellbinders one I believe. The ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons.

Pretty tag

I have a tag to show you today for a change. This is one of the samples I made recently for the Crafty Ribbons show stand. So the lace and ribbons are of course all from Crafty Ribbons.  I used DI Vintage Photo on the handmade ribbon to tone down the white to match the other colours. The sentiment is from LOTV and the butterflies from Michaels.

Cute tags

I bought Papercraft Essentials magazine as I really wanted the cute stamps and dies which were included. I love the little accessories which come with the animals. I used up some scarps of Echo Park Winter Wishes paper. The tags were diecut with Spellbinder dies and I also used my Lawn Fawn forest border die. The sentiment is also Lawn Fawn.

These ones are similar to some I shared a while ago sing the skating penguin. Same dies as above but these stamps and dies are from the Lawn Fawn tobogganing together set.

Card-io tags

This is my second post today using Card-io stamps. I finished off an order today and thought I would have another play with these stamps and make some tags. I used a Spellbinders tag die, such a useful die and I really like the shape. The sentiment is LC Designs, the dinkie sentiments are perfect for tags. I used small ink pads for some colour and various sets of Card-io stamps.

Snowmen tags

Another thing I am really enjoying making this year is Christmas tags. I diecut the tags using a Spellbinder die set and stamped the cute Woodware snowmen. They are coloured with Copics and I stamped some tiny white snowflakes from the Lawn Fawn tobogganing together set. The sentiments come from the two stamp sets.

Penguin tags

I recently bought this cute Lawn Fawn stamp and die set and thought the penguin was a perfect size for tags. The sentiment that comes with it is Happy Holidays which I don't like to use for Christmas so I use the sentiment stamp from the Lawn Fawn tobogganing together set. The other die is Lawn Fawn forest border. Coloured with Copics and matching coloured baker's twine.

Tags and a DT call

Time for a new challenge at Crafty Ribbons and we want you to show us your tags with ribbon. I made these for the coffee and craft shop I sell some of my gifts in and used some of the ribbon from the £1 bags and diecut my tags using a Spellbinders die. The stamps are Inkylicious, Forever Friends and LOTV. I added a Memory Box diecut umbrella, paper covered wooden hert and some tiny punched flowers. The flowers on the bear image were coloured with Sakura pens. I love the glittery finish these pens give.

If you love using ribbons then check out our DT call at Crafty Ribbons.

I will be back at 9am with my DT card for The Sugar Bowl.

Another day and another craft fair. This is one that I have done a few times. They only do two a year in their village hall and it is always well supported by the local community. Yesterday's craft fair was brilliant. I sold far more than I expected. I have been making some tags both to sell and to use myself. I have seen a few Santa tags around and had a play with my Fiskars tag punch I was lucky enough to win on Facebook. I used a circle die and added some red chalk, googly eyes which I have had for years and used a Memory Box moustache die and some white glitter card.

For these ones I stamped my new Inkylicious twiggy branch stamp in brown and white and added some red glitter berries. I am amazed how much I have used that stamp already, what a great buy. I then die cut some houses and trees from white glitter card using Memory Box dies.
