Let sleeping dragons lie

Yet another card for the order. I was asked to make a card for someone who likes tropical fish and dragons. I don't have any fish images but luckily I had this Hobby House coloured topper.  I used MFT paper and a doily.  I added some pearl dots using coral Dovecraft 3d pearl effects and some flowers from Hobbycraft.  The sentiment is from the teenage girl LOTV set.

It's a bank holiday in the UK not that it means much when you are retired, just to avoid the coast where lots of families will no doubt be enjoying a day out especially if the weather is nice. A day at home planned for us.

Retro TV

A simple card using the Nitwits Peachy Keen digi kit. I printed the banner and retro TV onto the backing paper and added the sentiment onto the screen.  I then punched and crimped some stars and added enamel dots.

This is another card for my friend's order. This one is for a man in his 60's who enjoys watching TV so he should appreciate the retro style TV.

More cakes

Another order using another coloured image from LOTV. This one is actually from one of the old art pads but is available as coloured simply print digi.  I diecut it with a MFT stitched die and added a square doily.

The paper which is meant to look like a tablecloth if from the First Edition Oh so sweet paper pad.  I added some little pearls to the cake stand and used a clear sparkle pen on parts of the image finishing off with some punched butterflies.

We are meeting some friends at the garden centre for a cuppa and a catch up this morning. We haven't seen them since last year apart from a zoom chat so that will be lovely.

Here she is again

I have been busy crafting but haven't had a chance to schedule any blog posts. I am working my way through my June cards I need to make and my friend's July order of 10 cards,  Thank goodness for coloured images as I just don't have time to colour images for every card.

This is the coloured simply print of Romantic Rock from LOTV which my friend loves as much as me and keeps asking me to use for cards. This time she wanted a modern look so I used MFT papers, Lawn Fawn pierced rectangle and Sue Wilson sweetheart flower dies.  I love these dies and the waste hearts come in handy too.

Housework this morning and then more crafting this afternoon I hope.

Fore!

I made this card for a friend's Birthday at the end of the month.  I am doing well with getting ahead with next month's Birthdays. I used one of the coloured simply print digis from the new set of vintage boys from Lili of the Valley.

The papers are First Edition grand plans. I love these papers especially for male cards. In fact this is the second pack I have bought. Many of the sheets are double sided too. I was so pleased that the offcut of the main paper was just big enough for the bunting.  I used the other side of it as you can see. The corner is the other side of the moustache paper.

The typewriter sentiment is one of the new sentiment sets from LOTV and I used a Lawn Fawn bunting die and a wonky stitched rectangle die from MFT.

We have to pop out this morning for a prescription and shopping but I am planning on crafting again this afternoon.

Sweet treats

Another card for my July order. I used one of the old art pads from LOTV for this one. Again it is available as a coloured digi from the Etsy shop.  The macaroon paper from the First Edition Oh so sweet pad is a perfect match for the image. I used milled lavender distress ink and added some little drops of glitter and used a clear sparkle pen.

I used the Inkylicious sentiment again, MFT stitched die, Hobbycraft butterfly punch and lace from Crafty Ribbons.

Big Bouquet

I found this image in my stash and I think it may have come from one of the old art sheets. You can now buy it as a coloured digi at LOTV. I used First Edition oh so sweet new papers, Lawn Fawn stitched circle and MFT stitched scalloped border dies. The flowers are from Hobbycraft and I used a Hobbycraft butterfly punch. The sentiment is Inkylicious.

This is one of 10 cards I have to make for July for my regular customer. Three down, seven to go. I am trying to get ahead with cardmaking.

We are going out for breakfast this morning and visiting our favourite charity shop which only sells books, jigsaws, records, CDs and DVDs. We rarely come away empty handed. I have at least 30 books in my to read pile but I find it hard to resist when I see any I fancy reading.

It's a goal!

Another commissioned card today. I was asked to make a football card for a teenage male so I used 2 of the Lili of the valley football trio. I have the original rubber stamps but they are available as digis.  I coloured them with Copics.  The papers are some old K&Co Hopscotch ones. I only have about 4 papers left in the pack. I keep trying to use some of these old packs with just a few papers left.

The sentiment is one of the new typewriter ones from the latest LOTV launch.  I fussy cut the images, punched some small tags using a Fiskars punch and used Hobbycraft star punches.

A day in the city today as hubby needs another haircut. I told him he didn't have it cut short enough last month and it grows so quickly. We have booked a table for lunch at ASK Italian and I want to have a browse in a few shops. Although we have both been vaccinated fully we are still careful and wear masks and socially distance.

Vintage new home

I love this Inkylicious sentiment for new home cards. It really suits vintage style but I really should try a bright card with it too. I stamped it in brown on kraft card.  The paper is Crafter's Companion rustic Wedding. I added some cream burlap and a wooden heart. The burlap flowers and butterfly go perfectly and I added some tiny pearls to finish.

Another milestone today as our line dancing classes start. That's an hour and a half of exercise we could do with. We have been practicing a little as we have only been 7 times since last March. It will be good to have the class back together again. No doubt we will be going over all the dances we have learnt so far for a few weeks before learning any new ones.

Racing Green

Today is not only an important one for those of us in England with more easing of restrictions but it is also launch day at Lili of the Valley. I have used one of the new coloured simply prints, Racing Green, along with a new grungy sentiment and a new digi paper coffee bean.

I also used MFT wonky stitched oval and zigzag dies, Lawn Fawn little town border die, burlap and wooden cogs.

Depending on the weather today we may venture to a local garden centre for lunch. It will be lovely to be able to eat out occasionally again.

Cocoa beach and village

the

This is a pocket layout for the Florida scrapbook and terribly hard to photograph because everything is in plastic pockets.  Hopefully though you get the idea.  I used Craft Label Finding Paradise papers and toppers. The sentiment at the top left hand corner says lovely times.  I used my Brother label printer to print Cocoa Village. The Ron John sticker said Orlando so I covered that using Dovecraft mini alphabet tiles.  The photo to the left of it is inside Ron John's shop and the photo of us two outside the shop.  Pocket layouts are a good way of using a few photos together but not easy to photograph.

It's snowing in May!

Well thank goodness it isn't really snowing but I did make another Christmas card. I was dismayed to see this is only my 7th one so far this year so I need to get more made. I have used this sweet Penny Black mouse many times. He looks so joyful doesn't he. I coloured him with Copics and used a clear sparkle pen on the snow. The paper is an old Crafter's Companion The Snowman one. I used Lawn Fawn stitched circle, Memory Box snowflake and The Works snowflake banner dies.  I used a pearl pen for the falling snow.

Bon Voyage

I had a good afternoon in the craftroom yesterday and have several blog posts scheduled. I had two cards half made so they got finished and I made this layout and a pocket layout for the non theme park Florida scrapbook. That is the one which I hoped to finish last year, oh dear.

This is the final page of the scrapbook but there are several still to complete. I couldn't wait to use the new Bon Voyage papers from Craft Label and used both the 12x12 and 6x6 papers.  I tried using the suitcase paper as the main paper but it looked too busy. Once again I started with a layout from Pinterest but then went my own way.

One of the designs in the pack are large flight label and these were useful to cut into for the various tabs. I found the suitcase, let's go and bon voyage stickers in my scrapbook stash along with the rub on Journey. I haven't used a rub on for years and was nervous if it didn't rub on properly as that used to be a problem. However with some hard rubbing it worked perfectly.  I added a small wooden plane coloured with vintage phot DI and used a clearly besotted notebook border die.

Another card from Paradise

I haven't done much colouring lately as I have been promoting new ranges from Craft Label and simply prints from LOTV. This card was made using papers and diecuts from the new Finding Paradise range from Craft Label. The vellum sentiment and doily are from the Make a wish goodie bag which I told you about last week.

Fixing vellum is always an issue as glue shows through. I attached a little glue to the left hand corner and a small strip on the right hand side to fix it to the peach card.  I then attached the parrot image on top of the vellum and added enamel dots it the left hand side,  I used some Tim Holtx Sizzix thinlets flower dies and a MFT stitched border die.

Mowing the lawn

I have another of the new vintage boys coming soon from Lili of the Valley. I love this one and haven't seen anything similar before. I used the coloured simply print but added some colour to the grass and sky with Copics and a MFT small cloud stencil.  The papers are new digis one also coming soon. I used Aged Aqu and London sky sets. The grungy sentiment is also from a new set.

I remembered I have some green burlap from years ago from The Range and thought it would look good with the image. I used MFT stitched cloud and sun dies.

Little decorater

I love the Lili of the Valley vintage boys and there are 5 new images coming soon. I have used the simply print of Vintage boys - wallpaper paste. I diecut the image with an MFT wonky stitched circle die. The digi papers are new too. There are several grungy sets. I used one from the London Sky and Coffee Bean sets.  I went for a really distressed look. The typewriter greeting is also from a new digi set and I added some wooden stars.

Graham is out for the day working with another volunteer from the Powerboat club starting to get the rescue fleet ready. They are hoping to start racing on 24th June all being well if restrictions allow. So I have some ironing to do and then need to have a sort out of my stock to get some ready to go back into the vintage cafe and gift shop as she will be opening on Monday. I hope to get some crafting done too.

Campervan celebration

This is one of the new coloured simply prints from Lili of the Valley. I think it is an adorable image. The sentiment is computer generated.  The pretty backing paper is from the new First Edition Oh So Sweet pad. All the embellishments are from my Craft Label Make a wish goodie bag.  See yesterday's post for more details of the goodie bag and how to buy.

Happy Birthday

I said I had been using some of the lovely new goodies from my DT pack from Craft Label. The paper is First Edition Oh so sweet and features some papers with yummy goodies as well as pastels and florals. I am so glad I bought the make a wish goodie bag as it is packed full of lovely embellishments which match the oh so sweet papers perfectly. It also comes with an 8x8 and 6x6 make a wish paper pads.

I framed the vellum sentiment, added ribbon, wooden toppers, puffy stickers and bunting. It was lovely to make a card using just one collection of embellishments. You can buy the goodie bag for just £15 and it is worth over £31. also if you spend £19 you get free delivery. The link for Craft label is on my sidebar.

Summer

I have used another of the new coloured simply prints from the seasons range at Lili of the Valley. The papers are some old LOTV ones. I used MFT stitched scallop, Hunydory moonstone flowers and Joy butterfly dies.  The sentiment is also LOTV.

Well it is supposed to be heavy rain all day today so we won't be going out at all. I have a lot of crafting I want to get done this month.

Love Heart and new goodies

What a relief yesterday’s dentist visit was. We were both expecting to have to make appointments for fillings but he advised leaving them alone unless they cause any pain.

A friend asked me if I could make her a lilac heart with love on it for her friend who was dying. She wanted to give it to her to let her know she was thinking of her. I only had the request late Friday night so sewed this on Saturday for her. Sadly she passed away on Saturday before my friend had a chance to collect it. However she was going to give it to her family.

I inserted the cross stitch material into the diecut heart and made the design up as I went along. She was very pleased with it. I just wished she had asked me earlier in the week so she could have given it to her friend.

I received my latest DT pack from Craft Label. We are given codes now and as long as we chose the new papers we could decided what else to get. I have been using some of them and will share my cards soon.

Second Christmas card this month

6th May and my second Christmas card this month. I coloured the cute Penny Black stamp with Copics and diecut with a MFT wonky oval die. I also used Doohickey slender firs, The Works snowflake border and a snowflake die. The sentiment is from LOTV which I coloured with sparkle pens.  I used a clear sparkle pen on the snow too and I think you may actually be able to see it on screen for a change.

We have appointments again today, but not as nice as yesterdays. We managed to get check ups at the dentist and we are not looking forward to them. We have both lost bits of filling and I have ben getting some twinges occasionally from a back tooth. I had an Xray on it last year as it has a crown and the Xray showed some decay in the tooth underneath. It wasn't enough to warrant extraction but I know it will have to come out at some stage.

Tiger. Tiger Burning Bright

I had another play with the new Finding Paradise collection from Craft Label. I really like this range and it is suitable for both male and female cards which makes a nice change.  I layered up the papers and topper and thought they really needed something to make them stand out more. I layered each of them on brown card and was so pleased with the different effect it gave. The sentiment is from the range and I just added some twine.

We are both having back, neck and shoulder massages again today.  Only 3 weeks since our last one but having missed them for so many months feel in need of them. We normally go once a month and really feel the benefit.

Winter in Spring

I am trying to get some more Christmas cards made this month and am off to a good start with two made and another image coloured. For this one I used one of the new Seasons girls coloured simply prints from LOTV. I have the original rubber stamps of these so must get them out and colour sometime.

I used First Edition North Star papers, MFT and Joy snowflake dies, Go Kreate large frilly 10 die and flowers from Hobbycraft. The sentiment is part of the image but I cut it to use separately.  I also added some pearls.

I had a productive morning in the craft room yesterday so have some more posts scheduled. Off to Tesco this morning as we thought it might be busy yesterday being a Bank Holiday so had a nice day at home.

Colourful Fort Myers

As promised I am back with a scrapbook layout using the new Finding Paradise range from Craft Label. The photos were taken at Fort Myers, Florida. I thought this range suited these colourful photos. As we were there during the Winter as the title says the morning are cool but the days are very warm. The photo of me was taken early one morning. I loved the colourful houses leading down to the beach.

Everything I used is from the Finding Paradise range with the exception of the title which was made using Dovecraft mini letter tiles. The bright colours match the layout so well. The title is straight as I used a ruler. It must be the photo which is a bit wonky. It isn't easy getting a good photo of a 12x12 layout.

Finding Paradise

I was able to chose some items from the new Finding Paradise range from Craft Label. One of the perks of being on their DT. I love the bright fun colours of this range. I used papers, topper and sentiment from the range. The ribbon is from the Butterfly Kisses range.

I decided to add some pink diecut feathers to go with the flamingo. I used a leaf die with almost matches the ones on the topper and some of my fave Hunkydory flower dies. I also made a scrapbook layout which I will share tomorrow.
