It's a purple card

FOURTH POST TODAY!
I hope you have time to check out the other 3 posts today. I decided to post my cards separately today as it makes linking much easier. The laptop is still going with a bit of jiggling on the lead. We bought a netbook yesterday so as soon as we get that up and running and everything backed up I'll get the laptop fixed.

I haven't made so many purple cards lately so I felt the need to get these gorgeous Henbury Lane papers out again. I used a new MS corner punch which is part of a PATP set and the faithful doily punch on the border. The image is Dahlia form the Greeting Farm. I just love her but I do find colouring her hair a challenge. She is coloured with Promarlers of course with some shine added with some glitter and a Sakura clearstar pen. I made the flower from some papers scraps and EK retro flower punches, spacer, brad and charm. I really like punched flowers, should do it more.

Autumn is coming

THIRD POST FOR TODAY
It's been more like a Summer's day today for a change but here's a touch of Autumn with this card. The image is from the SN Autumn range last year. The background paper is MME Wild Asparagus. I used my trellis punch on some Dovecraft scraps for the borders and added some Papermania ribbon to the bottom one. Flowers are Primas with pearls added and Autumn leaves from my die cut pack from Michaels. Sentiment is Craftwork cards again. I normally use a girly image for the Sugar Bowl challenge so this makes a change for me. It also makes a change
to be entering so early.

My hubby is a star!

My lovely hubby took me to Thetford today to the Sincerely Yours papercraft show where we met up with my good friend and fellow crafter Lynsey. He patiently waited while we oohed and aahed and made lots of purchases and took the first bags back to the car for us. He made good use of the free tea and coffee provided by buying the entrance ticket - he managed 5 cups! There were so many lovely goodies on sale and this is what I bought. I've displayed it with my lovely new table and chairs which arrived last Friday. I also bought a very cute stamp to add to my candy I will be offering here very soon. We were there 5 hours and he never complained once.

The laptop socket is really playing up so he fiddled around with it and ended up sellotaping it to keep it working for me. We're going to look at some netbooks tomorrow and will have to get the laptop fixed. If I don't appear on my blog for a day or two, you'll know why.
Graham, you are a star.

Rudolph

I picked up this cute digi freebie from the lovely Janet who currently has another fab Christmas freebie on offer so hop over and visit her. I added some glossy accents to his nose to really make it shine. I used the lovely sketch at A Gem of a Challenge. I had to cut out the image as trying to make it into a diamond nearly filled the card! I ran the white background through a snowflakes Cuttlebug folder. The background paper is from a new pack by Kars and as it had all the traditional Christmas colours in it decided to make a colourful card. The other bits are scraps from my old Christmas papers. The large snowflake was made using a Sizzix die and the smaller ones with an MS punch. I added snowflake brads to them all.

I have some friends coming round soon and we're off out for a meal this evening. Tomorrow I'm off to Thetford to the Sincerely Yours cardmaking show so I made a list today of all the things I need. I'm really looking forward to it especially as I am meeting up with my friend Lynsey there. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

A bee, a bear and a surfer

Second post for today. Please scroll down for my Winter Wonderland card.

I had a lovely surprise yesterday as Emma at CES Challenges has asked me to be guest designer for her new challenge for September. The challenges start tomorrow so be sure to check it out. I also made the top 3 at Crafts 4 Eternity.

The socket on my laptop is playing up so I have to fiddle about with the lead to get it charging so am going to have to get it fixed. I'm thinking about getting a netbook as it is sometimes a nuisance only having one computer for 2 people to use and if it goes wrong how will I cope while it is being mended?

I coloured some images last night and as I have the day off work today I had time to craft after some housework was done. Three contrasting cards here. Teri at Delicious Doodles was celebrating her first birthday (of the online shop, not her personal Birthday!) last week and gave away a digi a day. She has a competition running to make a card using one of the free digis, so here's mine. I glittered the veins on the wings, papers are MME Wild Asparagus and Dovecraft, sparkly ribbon (which is just visble)is Laura Ashley. The sentiment was done on the PC and cut with a Spellbinder label die.
Other Challenges
The Pink Elephant sketch
One Stitch at a time Say it with shapes
A spoon full of sugar 3 flowers, 2 buttons and 1 ribbon
Papertake 3,2,1 (see above)

The second card is a bright one, no wonder he has his sunglasses on! The cool dude is from Freshly Brewed and the beach huts were a freebie. Papers are K&Co Hopscotch. I used my much neglected decorative scissors on the border, added some card candy, a couple of bird stickers and some glossy accents to his sunglasses. The sentiment is another K&Co chipboard one.
Challenges
The Craft Garden Beach huts
Stamptacular Two's better than one
Charisma Hot, hot, hot

Sorting through my stamped images I found this little bear sitting there. Some kind person stamped him for me ages ago. I used some old Papermania paper Simply Elegant and some strips of Craftwork cards lovely shiny paper along with a sentiment and some of their candy again. I added glitter to the icing on the cake and the pink candy. Flowers are Prima and Wild Orchid with leaves punched form glitter card.

All I want for Christmas

That's the challenge from Kate this week at Winter Wonderland. I couldn't resist buying some of the new Pollycraft images the other week and couldn't wait to use one of them. Isn't Kiki gorgeous, carrying her Christmas pressies to give out. I used the lovely sketch at Paper Sundaes I added glitter to her fur and used Lynsey's MS snowflake punch on the border. The poinsettia was made with my new Marianne die, which I am so pleased with as it embosses too. I added more glitter to the embossing and die cut some holly leaves from glitter card. We had so many entries last week we were amazed. Let's try to get even more this week as you could win a $15 gift certificate to spend at Whimsy Stamps.

Autumn in New England

There's a lovely sketch at Crafty Calendar this month with an optional theme of all around the world. I like to try to fit in the optional them if I can but this one has had me thinking hard until I decided to do another layout. I really enjoyed making one on Monday and have so many lovely holiday photos I want to put in my scrapbook. This page came together so easily. The background paper is HOTP, others are Papermania Boutique and Dovecraft. I added a glitter strip and used a large MS border punch, one of my favourites. The great thing about layouts is you can use larger items to great effect. The die cuts are from an Autumn set I bought in Michaels in Florida with scrapbook pages in mind. I inked the edges for more definition.

If you have never been to New England I urge you to go. It is so beautiful , the colours are fantastic in the autumn (or fall)and there are some lovely places like Peacham which are like a step back in time.

(In case you have read the journalling and don't know the meaning of pot luck, it means inviting friends round and asking them to bring a pot of food, either savoury or sweet. You then end up with a pot luck dinner to share.)

Three for Tuesday

Three rather different cards from me tonight. The first card is a seaside one featuring Grace, a digi image, from Freshly Brewed, an image I won a few weeks ago. I sued an assortment of papers for this one and some K&Co chipboard embellies along with some pearls. I saw an article in a crafting mag about grounding your image so I thought I would try it by using Saffron Promarker at her feet for sand and I think it has worked really well.

This little fella from LOTV looks in a bit of a hurry, zipping along with his dog. I used Bev's lovely sketch at Lili of the Valley Papers are MME Wild Asparagus and K&Co Hopscotch. I added some sticky ribbon from an old Dovecraft male pack but had to miss off the bow, didn't think it went with the image. Sticky corners from an old Lakeland pack and squares and a star button to finish.

I decided to make a card with no stamping for a change. Yesterday I cut out a couple of butterflies using my friend Lynsey's Marianne die. The circle was cut with a Nellie die and the border was cut with an MS punch. I made the flower using retro punches and a brad and added some sparkly flowers.

A Birthday tag

A very quick post from me today as I need to have a shower and get over to my Mum's as it is her Birthday today. This is the tag I made for her pressy. I enjoyed making my Christmas tag last week so I thought I would have a go at a Birthday one this time. I've never made them before but it's a great way of using up scraps of paper I just can't bear to throw away. I used the MS zigzag border punch and made the flower out of more scraps using the two smallest Nestie blossom dies. The sequins and flowers on wire from Crafty Bitz have been in my stash for about 2 years. No idea why I have never used them as they are so pretty. I added 3 gems and a butterfly.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Hooray Summer came back yesterday but here I am with this week's DT card for the Winter Wonderland challenge. It was my turn to set the challenge this week and I decided on Walking in a Winter Wonderland so I am hoping to see lots of snow and snowflakes abounding on the cards this week. My image is Alex and Felicity from Digistamp Boutique, coloured with Promarkers of course. The snowflakes are from Me and My Big Ideas and an MS punch with added gems. I am loving using lace on my cards at the moment and I am really pleased with the effect of it on this card. This is my 40th Christmas card now, so I am really doing well. Only 4 months to go so hope you'll join in the fun this week and you could win a voucher for Simon Says.

An apple for her horse

It was an awful start to the day, cool and wet but it is a bit brighter now so I've swapped my jumper for a T shirt and hopefully put my boots away, yes I did wear them to work today, until the Autumn.

LOTV images are everywhere at the moment and why not, as they are so cute. This is another order for a friend at work who specified a white horse and a blonde girl and a pink card, so hope she likes it. I had to give the horse a bit of colour. The corners were made with a Sizzix die and the flowers with an MS punch. Papers are MME Quite Contrary and Papermania. By the time I made it last night it was dark so couldn't photograph it until I got home from work. I am entering this into the challenge of animals at Crafty Catz and 2 papers, 2 ribbons and 2 flowers at Cupcake and best wishes at Pear Tree Designs

I hope to be back later with another card. I have the image coloured, just have to make the card.

A little birdie

I'm back again with a second post for today. The other two cards I posted earlier were made yesterday but I made this one this evening and managed to photograph it before it got dark. The only trouble with A5 cards is that you cant see the card as well as square ones on the blog. The weather forecast for the rest of the week doesn't look good, lots of rain and still only about 19 degrees. I've never known August to be so awful.

My card is for an order for a lady at work whose friend will be 90 on Thursday. The sweet image is a digi from Robyn's Fetish. To achieve the effect on the flowers I coloured them with Promarkers and then used the blender pen on the petals. The 90 is a PB stamp and the butterfly was made with an X cut punch. I just love this colour combo at the moment, pink and blue with a touch of burgundy. Papers are from various Papermania packs.

The wind has been blowing and I went to work wearing long trousers, short sleeved top, long cardigan, jacket zipped up and a hat and still wasn't very warm! At least this card is summery. It's Christmas time in August

This week at Winter Wonderland Lynsey has challenged us to make a gift tag. I used one of my favourite Whiff of Joy Christmas stamps in my fave colour. I simply cut out the layers with different sized nesties, coloured her with Promarkers, added some glitter and a few glittery stars. I do hope you will join in this week where you could win 3 digis from Delicious Doodles.

I was asked to be guest designer at Christmas Stampin' all year long where the challenges this week is to use at least 2 designer papers. I was lucky enough to be given a choice of digis from this week's sponsor, In Style and I chose Snowchick, isn't she gorgeous. The papers are almost the last of my BG Eskimo Kisses. I used an MS simple scallop border punch, added some Me and My Big Ideas sparkly snowflakes, a snowflake charm, pearly brads and pearls from the Hobby House. My stack of Christmas cards is growing nicely now so no rush in November for me this year.

I know, it's another Christmas card but when I saw that Anyone for Anya had a Christmas in August challenge I was so pleased to use this image which hasn't been out since last Winter. Two for Tuesday

A couple of different cards from me this evening. The first one is a LOTV image I haven't used for a while and it's another of Bev's fab sketches at the Lili of the Valley challenge. Crafty Cardmakers are celebrating their first Birthday so want a Birthday card for their challenge. The papers are Dovecraft with an odd strip of spotted paper punched with an MS border punch. I wanted to make this card suitable for male or female so added Dovecraft punched stars with faux stitching and buttons.

I seem to have used this Anya stamp several times lately as she suits Summer cards. I have often used citrus colours for Summer but decided to go with pink for a change. The stripey paper reminds me of deckchairs. The glitter chipboard images are K&Co and flowers are Prima with punched leaves and pearls.

I decided to use the sleigh with presents along with the Pollycraft Santa image. I added some lace with a couple of papers scraps to the main paper from DCWV. Knight in shining armour

When I saw that Pollycraft had 25% off their digi stamps plus a freebie I thought it was time to buy some more of these fab digis and here is Cuthbert dressed as a brave knight. The challenge this week at Pollycraft is fit for a princess. I decided rather than do a girly card that I would use Cuthbert here as I'm sure any princess would love him and the purple is such a rich royal colour. It is such a great image for either male or female cards which is the challenge this week at Polka Doodles. I used MS zigzag punch, X cut corner rounder punch and Dovecraft star punch for the challenge of punches at Crafty Cardmakers. I'm back with some cards and candy winner

Hello everyone,I'm back from a few days away. The hotel in Scarborough was really lovely and the concert on Saturday night was brilliant. There were 10 80's acts in the show, including my fave singer, Midge Ure, who I saw for the 17th time. We've seen him everywhere from Cromer Pier to the Royal Albert Hall. Luckily I had today booked off as well and after cleaning and ironing I spent the afternoon crafting. It will take me the rest of the week now to catch up with all of you.

I can't believe my followers are now 510. Welcome to the newcomers. I hope you like what you see and visit often. So here is the first of my cards. Green is my least favourite colour and I struggle to use it but I am pleased with the way this card came out. Not everyone wants a purple or pink card, do they. The LOTV image has been used with Wild Rose paper, Prima flowers and patterned brads. The glittery ribbon is Pepper & friends. I used an MS border punch and Woodware leaf punch.
