Annabelle's Meadow

Good morning everyone, I'm here with my first guest designer card for The Stamp Basket. I am so pleased  to have been given the opportunity to work with these beautiful products.

My card today features one of the gorgeous Annabelle's Meadow panels from Wild Rose. I have teamed it with paper from the same range and used Tattered Rose Distress Ink around the edges of both to add to the soft look. I've topped it off with some blue sheer ribbon, Hobby House pearls, Prima flowers and a pearl brad. The scrolls behind the flower were made by die cutting using a Memory Box Macarena die and then cutting them in half. I've then finished with some die cut butterflies using another Memory Box die.

You can find all of these products including the Craftwork Cards card blank at The Stamp Basket.

As well as leaving me a comment here I would really appreciate it if you hopped over to The Stamp Basket blog and left a comment there.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
ABC DT Anything Goes
Simon Says Anything Goes
just inspirational Photo (I have used the birdhouse, pink blue and flowers)

Trying something different and candy winner

Went out for breakfast this morning at the local Brewer's Fayre for a change so that's set me up for the day, so salad for tea I think, and then we went shopping at Sainsburys. The car boot went quite well yesterday. The biggest sellers were the craft items. One lady came along and said she was getting back into cardmaking and bought some ink pads for £1.50.I said I had some stamps for sale but she told me she had about 40, which I think is a mere drop in the ocean! She then had another look and bought some small punches and embellies for £10. Was about to go and then decided to have a rummage through another box, resulting in her buying some stamps and other bits, £11 this time. Well I really must go she said, oh you have some cardmaking books, so another £4 later, she finally went. We crafters just can't resist, can we.

Last week I was lucky enough to win a set of Stampin' Up love and sympathy stamps from the lovely Elaine who is having a clearout and found she had two sets. I have been wanting to try resist embossing and finally had a go. It's not perfect I know and a very different style for me, but I am liking it. I heat embossed the flower and then used DI Dusty Concorde. I used this to stamp and edge the sentiment too. I added some gorgeous lace, ribbon, a Wild Orchid rose and some pearls.
Challenges:
Simon Says Anything Goes
Crafts 4 Eternity Three of something
Delicious Doodles Texture

Thanks to all those who entered my candy. Sorting out the winner was a challenge in itself as so many of you leave me such lovely comments and therefore had multiple entries.
The winner is.........
Sandra H

Congratulations Sandra. Please e-mail me with your address.

It's my third blogaversary in June and I am collecting some yummy items for a candy which will be up next month. You are definitely going to want to enter this one.

1300 followers candy

Well when I saw that I had reached over 1300 followers I just had to offer some candy to one lovely follower. There are 70 sheets of assorted 6 x 6 papers 20 Wild Orchid flowers and a set of bunting stamps kindly donated by Jayne from Stamposaurus.

I thought I would do something different this time for my candy so the number of entries will depend upon you. I will count all the comments from this post and every post starting from today (20th March) until Saturday 31 March. Regular followers will know that I sometimes post more than once per day so that could be a lot of chances for you to win. The more comments you leave (one per post only please), the more entries you will get. You must also be a follower and post a pic of my candy on your sidebar with a link to my blog. I will post anywhere in the world.

You must leave a comment on this post as your first entry so that I know which commenters are entering my candy.

This post will remain at the top until 31 March. Please scroll down for newer posts.

Amongst the flowers

If Mr Blogger is laying nicely this scheduled post will be be up on Saturday morning as I will be setting off to do a car boot sale. It's indoor so not weather dependant fortunately. Just bits and pieces to get rid of including some craft stash from my clearout. Our challenge this week at Totally Gorjuss is swirly whirly. I went for a layout for a change as I have so many photos still to do pages for. The photo mat is K&Co. I've used DI Spun Sugar on the papers and doily. The swirl, butterflies and the corner were made with Memory Box dies and the corner has been sprayed with spray and sparkle silver. I've used a mix of flowers. Very proud of myself as the ribbon flowers were the last of a packet. Although I love tem it is good to actually use the last of something sometimes rather than have lots of packs with a few in each. The large pale pink flowers are from Crafty Emmas, cherry blossom from Wild Orchid. I made the other flowers using my new TH Tattered Flower border, Core'dinations and DI Tattered Rose.

I would like to enter this into the Anything but a Card challenge at Creative Craft and Anything Goes at Simon Says.

Enjoy your weekend everyone. Last chance to enter my candy today and also gain another entry for every post you leave a comment on. Sorting out the numbers to choose a winner tomorrow will be fun!

ABC

I'm back with a second post today and what a cutie he is. He's a new rubber stamp from Crafty Sentiments Designs. I don't think he is on the website yet but should be shortly. There's also a very sweet new little girl, called Kaye available today as a digi and not forgetting the new releases due out next week which the DT will be previewing. I've had a good afternoon, finishing off one card and making two more, one of which was using a technique I haven't tried before. I'll be sharing that with you on Sunday probably.

Anyway on to my card for tonight. I used Papermania Portobello Road papers. I love the red, white and blue and the slightly grungy look and really must use them more. I've used Di Worn Lipstick and added some faux stitching around the image which has been coloured with Promarkers. I tried a different colour combination for the bear of henna, cocoa and raw sienna and really like the golden look it gives him. I've added a couple of very old letter epoxy stickers. In fact they were one of the first sets I ever bought so must be at least 5 years old. I've added some card candi and a Craftwork cards sentiment. I felt the card really didn't need any more embellishment.
Challenges:
Sketch n Stash Fab sketch (new stamp, old letter stickers)
Simon Says Anything Goes
DYSU w it
Moving along with the times Cute n cuddly

I'll also be entering this into Lisa's (Wishcraft) waste not Wednesday challenge for using my old letters.

I have a stall at an indoor car boot tomorrow so have scheduled my DT post for Totally Gorjuss and I'll just say that it is another scrapbook layout.

It Takes Two and some exciting news

It's Friday and that means time for another challenge at Winter Wonderland. It's my turn to host this week and I have chosen the theme of It Takes Two, so we want to see two people/animals/snowman on your cards. We are sponsored this week by Simon Says, so definitely worth playing along. I have chosen to use this sweet Nellie Snellen image, edged with DI Worn Lipstick and coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with a little gold Sakura pen. I've added German glass glitter for the fur. If you use this with PVA glue rather than a glue pen it gives a really fluffy look. The papers are Forever Friends Timeless, a bargain a while ago in Hobbycraft. I've used an MS holly border punch, Craftwork cards sentiment, scrim, MS punched snowflakes, Go Kreate die cut tag and snowflake charm tied with baker's twine.

There's a lot of Easter challenges this week but at ABC Christmas the challenge is F is for furry friends and Incy Wincy have a tag it challenge so I would like to enter my card into those two challenges.

Now for my exciting news. I have been chosen as a guest designer for The Stamp Basket for April. My posting day will be Monday so my first post for them will be on Monday 2 April. They stock so many wonderful products in their store and they currently have an Easter sale running until next Thursday and a weekend sale so hop over and check them out. I've been sent some gorgeous goodies to play with and can't wait to show you my first card on Monday.

Have a good weekend everyone and remember my candy ends tomorrow.

Strawberry time

This beautiful weather continues so this image seems appropriate. Its another of the new ones from LOTV, and a very different image for them. Much as I adore cute images it is nice to try something different and when you are selling cards you need to make cards for all tastes. My least favourite colour is lime green and the Promarkers and Flexmarker I used on the colander have been used very little but I actually like them with the red and they match the Raspberry Road Summer Goodness papers perfectly. These were free in this month's Quick Cads mag and as soon as I saw the strawberry paper knew they would be perfect with this image. I've added some vintage seam binding, a couple of Sizzx die cut corners and a few of the Memory die cute butterflies to match the ones in the image which have been coloured with Sakura clearstar and rosestar pens.

Another gorgeous sunny morning and I've decided I must start some spring cleaning today by making a start on cleaning out my kitchen cupboards. Before I do that I have an Easter card to share using one of the gorgeous Sugar Nellie Pips which has been coloured with Flex and Promarkers. The papers are MME Blink of an Eye. I've added some seam binding, Memory Box die cut butterflies, an assortment of flowers some of which I coloured with a Promarker, pearls from The Hobby House and leaves from a bargain purchase at a craft show.

Daisy, Daisy

This weather is unbelievable for March, isn't it. We did some gardening yesterday and the ground is very dry. Rather worrying really as our hosepipe ban comes into effect next week. We also sorted out lots of stuff from the loft ready for a car boot sale on Saturday so I only had time to make part of this card which I finished off this morning. It's another of those gorgeous new LOTV images, coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I've used some of my fave Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby papers which have been distressed. I've use DI Antique Linen and Tattered Rose, some lace from Wild Orchid, die cut and embossed and sanded hearts, LOTV sentiment stamped with DI vintage photo onto kraft, metal scrolls from Jolee's Boutique and pins, ribbon and bow from stash.
Challenges:

Another gift bag

Well the sun did come out yesterday though there was a rather cool wind. That didn't stop some people from thinking it was the middle of Summer, with their shorts and sandals. This morning the sun is out and I want to get out and get some gardening done but before I do will share this gift bag with you. The bag is from Hobbycraft, I have lots of different bags I need to decorate for upcoming craft fairs. I used one of my new stamps from the NEC. This cutie is from Stamposaurus, coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers, I've used a couple of odd bits of paper which I have faux stitched using my TH ruler and fineliner.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid with MS rose petal punched leaves. The little kraft butterflies were cut wit a new Memory Box die which cuts lots of tiny different shaped butterflies. Really pleased with that as once through the Bigshot gives me lots of butterflies for future cards.
Challenges:
Willow Sketchie Great sketch
CES Photo inspiration (I chose pink, green and butterflies)
2 Sisters Spring is in the air

I will also be entering Lisa's (Wishcraft) challenge for fun of waste not Wednesday as I have used some odd papers on my bag.

Flying high

Good morning. It's a dull day here after all that lovely sunshine yesterday, the mist came down last night and its still murky here. I've been playing with some more of my new stash and this is one of the gorgeous new LOTV stamps due out next week. Coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with Sakura pens for a bit of glitz on the balloon. Papers are MME Blink of an Eye. I was really taken with the colours of these papers, can't wait to use them again. I've used Core'dinations and a Darice cloud embossing folder and then sanded the clouds. The side paper has been hole punched and cut to look like memo paper. I've used sanded Core'dinatiosn for the punched border and then inked with DI Spiced Marmalade. The little ticket is another new purchase, part of a Go Kreate die set with an added sentiment. A couple of punched stars and some pearls and a cute card finished.

I've used the great sketch at A Gem and would like to enter anything goes at Stampin' for the weekend and animals at Passion for Promarkers where I made the top 5 last week.

Keys to the Kingdom

This is my second post today, Please scroll down to see my Totally Gorjuss DT card. Please scroll up to enter my candy.

I had started the year off well with layouts for my scrapbooks but have been so busy lately with cards that I hadn't made one for about three weeks so decided to take time out this afternoon and make one.

On our last trip to Florida we did a behind the scenes walking tour at Disney's Magic Kingdom. I think it was 5 hours and it was absolutely fascinating. I thoroughly recommend it. We had to be there for 8.45 and as the park didn't open until 9am we were told we could come in any time after 8am which meant we got some great pics as the park was practically empty.

The unlock the magic sign was in a shop window ad I thought how appropriate it was for this page. The keys to the kingdom was part of a holder with a lovely pin inside. I sanded the edges of the Kraft core Core'dinations, papers are DCWV and Michaels. I made some bunting and then used my sew easy to hand stitch it to the page. (Tip, stick the bunting down first before sewing.) I added a couple of border stickers, a camera and some locks and keys to finish.

I would like to enter this into the Disney challenge at Glitter Geeks.

Awww, how cute

Good morning everyone. I had a lovely play with more of my new stash last night and used one of the new LOTV stamps, a card I will share with you later or tomorrow. This one is an LOTV image I bought some time ago, stamped up and only got round to using this week for my DT card for Totaly Gorjuss where the challenge is spots and stripes. We are sponsored by LOTV and with their new images out next week you are going to want to play along. I've used Papermania capsule papers with a bit of lemon from Prima Sweet Fairy. I used my TH ruler to prick some holes and a fineliner pen to join them for faux stitching. The lace I bought at the BSSB show last year, pins from the Hobby House, sentiment comes with the stamp, Nestie die cut hearts and charm from Dunelm Mill.
Challenges:
ABC L is for lavender and lace
Kaboodle Doodles How cute is that
Delicious Doodles The Wonder of Life
Crafts and Me Light airy springtime colours
Truly Scrumptious Lilac, lemon and cream
Crafty Catz Spring is in the air

Having been away I need to catch up on housework this morning, unfortunately, and then we are off to Pizza Express and the theatre tonight to see The Hollies in concert. Have a good weekend whatever you are doing. Hope the sun is shining like it is here in Norfolk. Don't forget to check out my candy above and remember the more comments you leave, the more entries you get.

Playing with my new stash

I've had a lovely couple of days away. We drove up to Birmingham Wednesday lunchtime and stayed overnight and then I went off to the NEC yesterday with Lynsey and Lisa and hubby drove down to Gaydon Motor Museum. We all had a lovely time. I had kept some Christmas money and had been saving a bit most weeks so that I could get lots of lovely new stash at the show. I met several blogging and Facebook friends, some of whom I hadn't met before. It was so lovely to meet people and I'm only sorry we couldn't chat longer but we all wanted a good look round the show.

You'll be seeing lots of my new stash over the next few days and weeks I'm sure and this card is no exception. I absolutely had to use this fabulous multi layered sketch from Christmas Challenges with Sketches so I was very pleased that one of the new stamps I bought on the LOTV stand was a Christmas one. Everything used on this card with the exception of the Marianne snowflake die and white glitter card are new. Bo Bunny Snowflake papers which are gorgeous, LOTV image and sentiment, doily coloured with chalk and part of a Memory box die. I've coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and added glitter to her wings and used a Sakura Bluestar pen.

Other challenges:
Incy Wincy Things with wings
Creative Inspirations Anything Goes
Scrapbook Sisters Anything Goes
Crafty Purple Frog Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday Anything Goes
I could have spent all my money in the first half an hour buying Memory Box dies and LOTV stamps but restricted myself. I did pick up 3 of the new stamps and 2 from the last 2 releases. There's lots of dies left on my wish list. Here is my lovely new stash.

I also bought some stuff for my next candy. In the meantime don't forget if you want to enter my candy please add a comment to the post above. Every post you comment on between 20th and 31st March will gain you another entry.

I managed to do some commenting whilst we were on the road on Wednesday, thanks to my IPad. However I fell behind with it all now so will catch up with you as soon as I can.

Keep Calm and Carry On

This was another of the samples I made recently for Stamposaurus using the keep calm and bunting stamps. I teamed them with Papermania Portobello Road paper and some punched stars. I coloured the flags with Promarker and added some faux stitching. I can see me using these a lot especially this year as this phrase is everywhere and union jacks are very popular with the Olympics and Queen's Diamond Jubilee coming up in the Summer.

I have scheduled this post as we were at the NEC yesterday and will be out food shopping this morning. If you would like the chance to win a set of the bunting stamps please see my candy post above.

CAS!!!!!

Yes. your eyes aren't deceiving you, it is a CAS card from me, a rare occurrence I know but it was a sample for Crafter's Companion where the main feature has to be the embossing folders. I used three lace borders from Darice and three shades of blue Core'dinations. I sanded two of them and added DI Broken China to the middle one. A simple ribbon, bow and rose and a sentiment from the Paintbox Popperts CD and job done.

I've scheduled this post as I am at the NEC today spending lots of money and meeting up with lots of crafting friends. we stayed overnight last night but will be travelling home after the show so it will be a late night so I have a post scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Sailing

Just one post from me today. I'm building up my stock of men's cards. I seem to have several for boys but not many for men. I bought a lovely A5 vintage set of stamps from crafty Sentiments and this is one of them. I've used Papermania capsule papers and the MS cherish border punch with baker's twine. The square tiles I bought at a show and the anchor charm came from The Works.

Please see post above for my candy and please make sure you leave a comment on that post to register your interest in winning the candy.

Wheels and cogs

Something very different for my final post today. Please scroll down for others. I love making girly cards but I also love making this type of card as it really gets you thinking when it comes to layout and embellishment. The main image ad sentiment are rubons from Michaels. I bought a sheet with about 6 on for $1. I used kraft card and Core'dinations to make this card along with We R Memory Keepers Travel Light papers. I've used some of that scrim again but this time used DI Vintage Photo on it as I didn't want it left white. Lots of tearing, distressing and sanding apart from 2 of the cogs which I heat embossed. I've used Tim Holtz clock die, on the edge steampunk die and metal cogs.
Challenges:
Pollycraft Check it out
Sarah Hurley Steampunk
The Crafty Pad Perfect pair (2 papers, 2 wheels, 2 metal cogs)

The papers are three from my bits and pieces pile, which doesn't seem to be going down much, ho hum. I've added some baker's twine which I love using and trying it in different ways on my cards. The flowers were made with two Marianne dies, paper scraps and pearls.
Challenges:

I would like to enter this into the decoupage challenge at Forever Friends.

My card was made using papers and toppers from the new Timmy Tiptoes CD. The stamp is from the new stamp set and I added some Crealie die cut swirls and a ribbon flower to make a new home card. I would like to enter this into the new home challenge at CRAFT and a bit o' green at Simon Says.

Daffodils

Here I am finally with my second post today and my DT card for Totally Gorjuss where our challenge is Spring. Our lovely sponsor this week is Heather's Hobbie Haven. I have used the second of my Sugar Nellie Pip digis which I have coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. The papers are Prima Sweet Fairy again. I've seen some people using plasterer's scrim on their cards so off to B&Q I went last week and bought a huge self adhesive roll for just £4 so you'll be seeing a lot of this on my cards. Yellow is probably the colour I use least on my cards but wanted to pick up on the daffodils so used yellow Core'dinations and a Sizzix corner die. The hearts came out of the die cuts. Some ribbon and MS punched butterflies with pearls as well.

Anyone for an Easter Egg?

This is my third post for today. Please scroll down for other posts.
I couldn't resist buying this sweet digi from Sugar Nellie which I have coloured with Promarkers. I love colouring dresses with folds and one day I may be perfect at it. I used a colour combo for her dress that I haven't tried before, marine, turquoise and duck egg blue. The papers are Prima Sweet Fairy, a pad I have rediscovered recently. Isn't t lovely when you find a paper pad you had completely forgotten you had. I've been delving in my odds and ends flower jar again. I couldn't find any small yellow flowers so coloured some white ones with a Promarker, sprayed with gold Spray and Sparkle  and added some pearls and Woodware punched leaves. The butterflies were made with a Fiskars tiny punch and more Spray and Sparkle. The card used is Core'dinations.
Challenges:
The Sugar Bowl 2nd entry using this great sketch
Passion for Promarkers Yellow and pearls
I love Promarkers Anything Goes
Willow Sketchie Embellish it

Magical Christmas

I'm back as promised with my second post today which is my DT card for Winter Wonderland where Karen has challenged us to use a fairy or angel on our projects. I've been so busy this week with samples for Crafter's Companion that I just didn't have time to colour an image but that's where these LOTV die cuts are so useful. The backing paper is from a sample pack so I don't know the name of it but the colours go so perfectly with the image. The other paper is HOTP with added ribbon.  I'm trying to use up bits and pieces and the poinsettia was the last red one in a pack I won from Hooked on Craft last year. The holly was made with a Woodware punch, embossing tool for definition and card candi. The sentiment is from an old pack from The Range.
Challenges:
Ladybug Crafts Ink Anything Goes
ABC Christmas Evergreen
Hotshot Crafts Ribbon
Simon Says A Bit O' Green

I'll also be playing along with Lisa (Wishcraft's) Waste not Wednesday challenge.

I'm off the hairdressers this morning for a cut and highlights so have packed my book to read because that will be a long session. Selling at a craft fair again tomorrow so have some bits and pieces to finish off for that when I get home.

Two Bad Mice

A quick post from me as I shall be back shortly with my Winter Wonderland DT card but I wanted to show another sneak peek of the gorgeous Beatrix Potter CDs. My card today was made using pyrimage and paper from The Two Bad Mice CD. As well as the new CDs and stamps being POTD on C&C there will also be a special offer on the other CDs too. I have also used some of the new Vintage Flower Power Core'dinations with one of the new Darice lace embossing borders ad an MS Cosmos and Xcut flower die. I have sanded them all to show off the lovely effect you get with this card. Gems from the new Beatrix Potter collection. Catch you all again shortly.

Sneak peek 3

A quick post from me this morning as I must get some domestic chores done today. I'm sharing another sneak peek from the gorgeous new Beatrix Potter collection coming next Tuesday from Crafter's Companion. I've used a decoupage frame and papers from the CD with a sentiment form the stamp set. I've used some of the fabulous new Vintage Flower Power Core'dinations with some raffia and leaf buttons.

I also used one of the inserts from the CD which match the designs so well.

Sneak peek 2

If you are looking for the blog hop post please see my first post for today. This card was made using some of the brand new products from Crafter's Companion. I tend to think of clean lines for Beatrix Potter but I do like a bit of distressing and this image seemed to suit the distressed look. It's part of the new die cut decoupage kit, which is fabulous. It's lovely quality and only a few pieces for each one so not too fiddly. I've picked up the colour scheme from the fox's outfit. The paper, sentiment and ribbon are also new Beatrix Potter products. I've used some gorgeous new Vintage Flower Power Core'dinations which has been sanded and torn. I've added some Prima flowers and a brad and used an MS border punch.

I would like to enter this into the ribbon challenges at Charisma and Hotshot.
