Have a Mice Christmas

Have been out all day today, haircut and colour, so the hair is looking good today! Went to the Bank, did a little shopping and then home to check up what is happening. I couldn't believe my eyes when I checked the competition over at Little Claire's blog where they wanted names for their new Cutie Patootie stamps. They chose my names, Bert and Mary so I have won a set of the 6 new stamps. How fantastic is that! I've never won a naming competition before.

Right, onto my card today which is an 8" card using the sweet Gillian Roberts mice coloured with Promarkers. I used papers from my 12" stash, Papermania glitter strip, ribbon, Woodward punched leaves, Crealie die cut leaves, Prima poinsettia, card candi and pearls.

Big boots

Isn't it lovely and light here this morning with the clocks going back. Won't be so good when it gets dark earlier this evening though. It means a nice early start for me today. Washing done and ready to hang out then shower and off to visit some friends to deliver some ordered Christmas cards.

I've used this gorgeous Simply Sassy girl for my card today. She is coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with loads of glitter on the fur. I used DI Broken China around the image. Aren't her boots fab. I tried a couple of different things for this card, rather than using all blue, I used some Dovecraft pink and blue paper for the backing paper and then everything else blue on top. The blue papers are DCWV Winter stack. I used the last of a piece of lace I bought at Ally Pally and after adding the strip add a small piece left which I used at the top rather like bunting. I always wrap my lac around and stick with tape before layering but as I only had this small piece left used PVA glue and it stuck it perfectly. I used an MS simple scalloped border punch and the old faithful snowflake punch with glitter card.

We are sponsored this week by Fantastic Ribbons so expect a fantastic prize.

Go Dotty

Hello and welcome to Squiggle Saturday. The challenge blog has had a bit of a change and from now on all the DT will be making cards for the fortnightly challenge rather than posting on different days. The challenge is go dotty and I use done of the cute new penguin images coloured with Promarkers, I used Wild Rose papers again, just love the colours on these papers. Although it is a Christmas pack you could use these designs all year, if there any left of course. I also used a dotty punch from Michaels.and added some pearls. We'd love you to join in the fun at Squiggle Stamps. You can use any image you like but if you use a Squiggle image available here then you get 2 entries.

I've scheduled this post as I am out all day sorting out my cardmaking classes for January and delivering some cards to a shop to sell but hope to be back later with my Totally Gorjuss card.

Clean and Simple

The challenge set by the lovely Denise this week at Winter Wonderland is clean and simple. Now regular followers will know that I don't do CAS. I don't think less is more, I think more is better. However I had these snowy scene die cutsI bought last year from Lili of the Valley and made some simple 5" square cards to sell in packs. I embossed some white Centura pearl with snowflakes and added some blue spotted ribbon. Simples. We had a lovely lot of entries last week and as I know many of you do enjoy making CAS cards hope you will come and play. I would like to enter this into the die cut challenge at Bah Humbug and no designer papers at One Stop Craft and Crafty Sentiments.

One image, 2 cards

I'm still working on lots of Christmas cards and here are 2 very different cards using the same sweet Sugar Nellie fairy. For this first card I used the Sugar Bowl sketch where the option is CAS. Now you will know that I don't do CAS but as there was only one paper in this sketch the card is pretty clean and simple for me. The paper is appropriately Papermania Enchanted, flower is from Crafty Emmas, Crealie diecut swirls.

The second card is an 8" square card so lots of scope for embellies. I love the colours of these papers from Papermania and Wild Rose. The image is coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers, as is the image above. Lots of glitter on her hat. I used an MS border punch and Marianne snowflake dies. I made a tag using a new stamp free with C&PC mag which arrived yesterday and a Nestie die. A couple of heart buttons and some jingle bell charms finish it off.

Dancing in the snow

Good morning, and a sunny morning it is too after yesterday's horrible rainy day. I popped into Hobbycraft yesterday and found some new Kraft card blanks and envelopes which at £3.99 for 30 was a good price I thought so have used one here. They seem to be gettig more products in for serious crafters and also had some items on special offer and as I had a £4 voucher if you spend £20 also bought a set of Nesties labels 2 which I have wanted for a while so got the card blanks for free.

I have so many new images to use it is hard to know which to use first. Also putting some stamps away the other day I came across some old favourites which haven't been used for far too long. Anyway today my card features one of the newer Lili of the Valley girls. She has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with a bit of Sakura gold star pen and lots of lovely glitter. I used my MS PATP snowflake set and then added the punched out snowflakes to the design. The snowflake has been made with gold glitter card and a Marianne die. There's a lot going on in this card with buttons, pins, ribbon and lace. My favourite sort of card which also has distressed edges and sanded Core'dinations.

Snuggled up in love

The weather has changed today, after several lovely sunny days it is pouring with rain. Nowhere near as much rain as some of you in the UK are having though. Awful floods so I hope you are all safe and dry.

My card today is for an order and I was asked for an A5 card. The beauty of digis is of course that you can resize them so I could make this cute Meljens image nice and big for the card. Image coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I used DI Victorian Velevt around the image, papers are Marianne Merry Little Christmas, sentiment Craftwork Cards. I added some lovely burgundy lace, Prima poinsettias and some gold holly leaves I found in my Christmas stash.

Snowy couple

After my grungy and distressed card posted this morning comes a card with nice clean lines. The image is from Crafty Sentiments coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I had forgotten I had this Marianne icicle die until I saw somebody else use it and it fitted this sketch perfectly along with the faithful MS punched snowflakes. The corner was made with a Sizzix die and the letters came from an old scrapbooking kit.
Challenges;
Sweet Sketch Wednesday Another great sketch
Marianne's Design Divas Dying to diecut

2 ways with 1 embossing folder

2 more samples for Crafter's Companion, this time with a new Darice embossing folder and some new Core'dinations. I wanted to create 2 completely different looks with the same basic card design. The top card features the Kraft Core'dinations and has been severely distressed, torn and sanded. This would make a great male Birthday card. The bottom one has a much more feminine look using the new Pastels Core'dination which has just been lightly sanded. I used Baker's Twine for the top bunting and ribbon for the bottom one and added some Prima flowers.

I would like to enter the top card into the spooky hues challenge at Papertake and Sundae Bar at Paper Sundaes (black, distressing, sparkle (with the gems)). Both cards are for the embossing challenge at Charisma.

Happy Birthday Crafter's Companion

Just a quick post from me as I have been out all day. Crafter's Companion is 6 years old and they are celebrating all week with special offers and loads of TV programmes on Create and Craft. Last week I was very busy working on lots of samples for these programmes and here is just one of the  cards I made with the monochromatic Reddy decoupage. I used black Centura pearl card for the card blank and added some Crealie die cut swirls, Prima flowers and pearls.

Rock a bye baby

Here I am a little later than usual as I decided to be good and get all my chores out of the way first. Hubby is at home today and we had a bit of a cleaning frenzy this morning starting before 8am. I've also done some hand washing and 2 loads of machine washing so I deserve some crafting and blogging time now don't you think. This card is for an order and will have a named sentiment on but as I don't want it to be seen on Facebook will add that now. I just adore this image and have used it several times. A gift from Squiggle Stamps

This is my second Christmas post today, this time featuring a brand new release from Squiggle Stamps. This is one of the Goth Kidz range released today. There are many more new Christmas digis including some very cute penguins. I've used a great sketch from A Gem of a Challenge using papers from Kars Xmas and DCWV Winter stack. I would also like to enter this into the masculine challenge at Sweet Stampin'.

I love my dog

Well I don't love my dog as I don't have one but this little cutie does. You may have seen her on TV if you have been watching the SWALK launch on Create and Craft. This is a great sentiment too I think. The papers are from the new SWALK Winter Cheer CD and the image is coloured with Spectrum Noirs. I would like to enter this into the challenge of 1 ribbon, 2 shapes and glitter, (shapes are circle and rectangle), at CRAFT and for the girls at Send a Smile 4 Kids.

I posted a large parcel of cards off to Crafter's Companion today so I can now settle down and get some other cards made so should have something new to share tomorrow. I should also have a bit more time for blogging thank goodness.

Very pink, a candy winner and oops!!!

Another gorgeous day here today and what am I doing, making cards as I have so many to get done for Crafter's Companion. Hope the weather lasts as we are off out visiting tomorrow. I decided to take a break from my DT cards and make something else and here it is. My card features one of the gorgeous Sassy girls from Sugar Nellie coloured with Promarkers. I tried the ditty background for the first time as I have seen this quite a lot lately and thought it would be fun to try it. The papers were a Birthday pressie, Kars Country Rose and boy are they pink or what! I used an MS border punch, Marianne leaf die, X cut butterfly punch, Craftwork cards sentiment and various flowers. The fab sketch is from The Sugar Bowl and I would like to enter the monochrome challenge at The Crafty Pad and dying to diecut at Marianne's Design Divas.

Ans the moment you have all been waiting for which is the winner of my Birthday candy and it is.....
That's you Lynn (Delphinoid). Please e-mail me your address and I'll pop your goodies in the post to you. Don't despair if you haven;t won any candy from me yet. I'm off to America before Christmas and I'm sure to come back with something lovely to give away.

Lastly, look what happened to me Friday night. Reaching to get something from the back of a shelf in my craftroom and down came packs of embellies which burst open all over the floor. This is just a small part of it and of course some of the embellies are tiny and being such a tidy fanatic I had to pick them up and out them all back in the right sections of the containers. What a job that was and not to be recommended.

Here's my second post today and it's my DT card for Squiggle Stamps. I've used digi Miss Evie Witchy coloured with Promarkers. I'm loving these vibrant colours. My hubby always laughs when I save all these bits of ribbon.  You can buy Miss Evie Witchy here and, along with some other digis, she is available at a reduced price. Also, don't forget out current challenge, Thanks, which ends tomorrow. You can enter using any image.
