Another Card-io card today. I watched a Youtube tutorial and found that the person making the card used torn paper to create the snow so I decided to have a go and found it worked better with the tree stamps than using my MFT stencil. Some of the snow lines came out a bit too dark but after adding some very old Martha Stewart crystal flakes I don't think they look too bad.
I need to experiment more with different inks. I found a bargain in QD, packs of 4 small ink pads for just £1.49 a pack so will be trying those out. Each pack has 3 chalk inks and 1 metallic. I bought 2 packs to try.

Fabulous scene ... interesting seeing your remarks about creating snowdrifts ... I have only just started creating scenes recently (come back to crafting this summer and am a recent convert to Lavinia stamps!) I started with torn paper and thought I would prefer acetate masks as my hands got so inky and the paper tended to tear and/or get colours of ink muddied together. I now have some acetate hill masks (Lavinia) and although I prefer them for ink blending, you can't really use them as a mask when stamping as the stamp does not stamp right to the edge of the mask as the acetate is too thick. Therefore when stamping I still get a bit of torn paper and place it carefully just at the bit of the hill where I want to stamp. I am enjoying grying different inks for blending hilss as well :-)
Fabulous scene! The idea of torn paper with flakes, it is so effective, thanks for sharing! Love the stamps and the sky too!
A lovely scene you have created Marianne. Hope you did well at the craft fairs. Hugs, Carol S.xx
