Second outing for this new stamp

I am hosting the Winter Wonderland challenge in place of Lynsey this week. You may have read about her disastrous flood at home on her blog. So what is our challenge theme this week? It is How Charming, simply add a charm. Yes no more hoarding those charms you bought to put on cards, not just to admire. Time to attach them to a Christmas card and you could win a £10 voucher from our generous sponsosr

This is one fo the stamps I bought from the recent Christmas release and it is already her second outing, isn't that good. How many stamps have we got that have only been used once, or worse still, not at all.

Over at Lili’s Little Fairies we are challenging you to make something without flowers. I thought either a male card or a Christmas card and as you can see it's a Christmas card with a male. Yes the very cute James all decorated up.

Well this is my last challenge as a Lilli's Little Fairy   Times change, and we Fairies are changing with them.  No, please, don't be too sad, read on.

We have had a blast as LLF but it is time for a new start and from next week (5 September), we are becoming Crafty Little Fairies, a new look and a new address.

Something else new and, we think, very exciting - we are opening the challenge up to use images other than LOTV.  So, you can still use your Lili's and we would love to see them, but you can also use other images too.  How cool is that?!  I am sure the Fairies will continue to share their love of Lili with you all but this does mean more of you will be able to join in the challenges with us.

So, we hope you are as excited about all this as we are - see you next week for the first ever
Crafty Little Fairies Challenge!

Please copy and paste the new logo into your sidebar and add the link to the new address when you have it.

Live Laugh Love

We had a lovely day yesterday at Hunstanton. Grace, Lynsey's daughter had a great time paddling with her doll and even had a pony ride on the beach. We did a lot of walking, the sun was shining though the wind was a little cool at times. By the time we took them home, got home ourselves, had a meal and watched New tricks on TV it was time for bed. All that sea air and an early start yesterday had tired us out so I will be catching up on blogs today.

I have seen several beautiful cards lately using sentiments as their main focus and I really love the Inkylicious ones that Nic (Coops) uses. I found them on Joanna Sheen's site and there are so many to choose from. I restrained my self to buying just two at the moment. I teamed it with some gorgeous new Prima Lyric papers, Cheery Lynn die cut butterlies and a large Marianne die cut butterfly. A few pearls and DI Victorain Velvet and job done.

Challenges

Sightseeing

Tuesday means guest designer time at Papertake Weekly and as it is the last challenge of the month Dawny P has created another wonderful sketch for us to follow.

Of course, if you prefer you can choose one of the older sketches, just tell us which sketch you have followed in your post.

I spotted this stamp in the sale section of a local shop, reduced from £14 to $4.20. I decided to use the whole stamp this time but I can see it being used without Big Ben as well. They might even appear on a scrapbook page of a holiday.

Before I go I just want to draw your attention to the fairy logo in my sidebar. Intrigued? Check out my blog on Thursday for more information and the link to the blog address.

Yeehah

I have had this little lady inked up for a while and she was amongst my pile of new images waiting to be used. As soon as I saw the Sugar Nellie Facebook challenge of gingham I thought of Nigel May on Create and Craft who always says yeehah when gingham is mentioned. I was also lucky enough to win a voucher for Stamp and Create's online shop and I chose these cowboy boots as part of my prize. Here I go again, using my charms, aren't I good.

At the Fair

Over on the Crafty Ribbons blog we are celebrating fetes.
For my contribution I made a scrapbook page of the wonderful day out we had at Dorset Steam Fair a couple of years ago. It was the biggest fair I have ever been to and it turned out to be really hot Summer's day. I've used DCWV Nantucket papers, ric rac and striped ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, K&Co bunting, Scrabble letters and some foam glitter stars I found in my stash. I have wanted some of these Scrabble letters for ages and when I managed to buy some of Facebook I was delighted. I chose to but them without the segmented box as I had one I could use and it saved on postage. The only trouble was that meant I received an envelope full of letters which had to be sorted so I could put them in the box alphabetically making them easier to find. I have a lot of other alphabets which are loose in their boxes and it take ssuch a long time to find the ones you want, if indeed I have all the letters I need.

Art Deco and new feather die

I'm off to sell at a craft fair this morning so a quick scheduled post from me. A very simple card using paper, sentiment and topper from the gorgeous Art Deco range from Docrafts. I was lucky enough to win a voucher for Stamp and Create's fab online store and I chose the gorgeous Doohickey feathers die along with some charms. I love the Doohickey dies but my goodness, why are they so much more expensive than other dies? I used sanded Core'dinations and added some Prima flowers and Wild Orchid roses. I would like to enter this into the Wild Orchid Anything Goes challenge.

Holly Hedgie

It's my turn to host the challenge at Winter Wonderland and this week we want to see your red and green projects. You can use other colours for hair/skin/fur but that's it. We will allow another bit of colour if the image requires it or a bit of kraft such as one of my snowflakes.  We  are sponsored by the fabulous

who are offering a £10 voucher.

I was sent a few images from one of my lovely followers and this cutie was amongst them. I love Penny Black images and every time I use one I resolve to use them more but I think the trouble is we are spoilt for choice with so many images to choose from nowadays. I know I am always thinking of older stamps I must ink up again. I've used two new snowflake dies and the tiny ones come out of the middle of the Rizza Snowflakes.

Another weekend comes round. Must say I am preferring this cooler weather we are having. Low 20s is my kind of temperature, lovely and warm but not too hot. We are out with friends for a meal and the theatre tonight to see Spirit of the Dance, really looking forward to that. We have seen the troupe a couple of time before and they do all kinds of dancing, including Irish dancing. Every time the show is different.

Isn't this one of the cutest snowman images ever. He is from the Gorjuss range and when I saw someone selling the stamp on Facebook for £1 I couldn't resist, what a bargain. He has been coloured with Copics, the papers are Kaisercraft Dear Santa, poinsettia was made with Marianne dies. The sentiment is part of a new set from Marianne Designs. Mum and Dad

Monday afternoon I decided to spend some time making a couple of scrapbook layouts. I just haven't had time recently and I do love making them. This is my Mum and Dad's wedding. Sadly they parted just after I got married but I wanted to preserve this happy day in my scrapbook. It's such a beautiful old photograph. The lady on the right is my dear Grandma, my Mum's mother, who passed away a few years ago. She was in her 90s and my Mum is 80 so I am hoping long life runs in the family.

I kept the layout simple as I didn't want too many embellishments to detract from the large photo. I've used some of my favourites, Tim Holtz vintage shabby papers, guipure lace, Prima flowers and cabuchons. The swirls were made with a Memory Box die and the simple title numbers are EK success stickers.

I'm Soooooooo Excited

Yes, I am so excited to be able to reveal that I am a Guest Designer of the next three months at Papertake. I could hardly believe it when I received the email inviting me to join such a fabulous talented group of ladies. So here I am with my first GDT card. Our challenge is Anything Goes with the option of vintage. Of course I had to go with the option as I love making vintage cards and it gave me the chance to use a new stamp.

He's a Tramp

This is one of those images I have loved for ages and everytime somebody uses it I think I must buy it. I found the clapperboard die half price in a local craft shop and just ahd to buy it as I love anything related to movies and thought it would be great for scrapbooking, when I finally find some more time for that of course. As soon as I bought the die I realised I had to buy this digi and what a challenge but a delight to colour.Sometimes when you really want a particular stamp the end card doesn't always live up to my expectation but I really love this card, so glad it turned out so well.

I'm sure many of you will guess that this new stamp is from Stamposaurus as it is reminiscent of the camper van and ice cream van stamps. It's another of my card samples for the new launch. Isn't it a fun and different Christmas image. I've used a new Tim Holtz stitching stamp on the papers. I found this on eBay, hadn't seen it before and I love it so expect to see it again soon.

Fairy and Bunting

I am pleased to say the hospital visit went really well. My appointment was for 8.30 and I went in on time. Saw two very nice audiologists who were very pleased with my progress. They were impressed with my determination with the balance exercises and after lots of questions and balance tests have devised some more for me to do twice a day. I have another appointment in 5 weeks.

As promised I am back with my second post today. Time for a new challenge at Lili’s Little Fairies and this week we want to see your girly creations using a Lili of the Valley image. I just had to use my gorgeous new stamp which has two of my fave things, fairies and bunting, how could I resist buying her.
