Make your own flowers

Isn't it funny how some weeks there are several challenges with the same theme. Well this week it has been make your own flowers. I love making these flowers using the blossoms nestie. It is the first time I have used the smallest one and it was a bit tricky curling the edges as they are so small. The papers are from my current fave pack by Papermania. I just bought 2 more of these, one for me and one for my next candy coming soon.

The challenge at Stampin' for the weekend is getting to know you through your favourite book. When I was young I loved Enid Blyton's books and my favourites were the Magic Faraway Tree series. A few years ago I was browsing some cheap books in a shop and found an omnibus edition with all 3 books in it for about £5. I just had to buy it and thoroughly enjoyed reading it again. I was surprised how much of it I remembered. In the books some children find the tree in the enchanted wood and there are all sorts of people living in the tree including an elf with wings called Silky. At the top of the tree they find a different land each time they visit. This digi image from Pollycraft reminds me of those stories.

Hi Marianne, Wow this is a gorgeous card! I love the pretty papers and sweet image.

I also loved Enid Blyton books when I was a child and my favourites were also The Faraway Tree series. I so wanted to visit the lands that stopped at the top of the tree lol! My mum still has all the books in her bookcase and think I might have to borrow them.

Hi Marianne - so sorry for being late commenting on this amazing card. Firstly when I saw this I thought it had been photographed upside down so had to take a closer look. To my amazement I see not only beautifully created own made flowers but even better, capsule mono paper (currently my addition) This is superbly put together a true stunner
