Trying something new

When I saw the challenge at In the pink was embossing I decided it was time to try something I have been wanting to try for ages, heat embossing and colouring vellum. I know many of you will have done this but for some reason I have never got round to it. I bought some white vellum at Ally Pally as I bought some matching stamps and dies at The Works for just £4! I stamped the flowers with Versamark and heat embossed them in white. I then coloured the backs with Copics and attached brads to the centres.

The paper is Ann Marie blissful pink. I added some builder's scrim from B&Q and some pink lace. The leaves were diecut with a Joy die and I found the sentiment in my stash. The paper and sentiment were distressed using a distressing tool.

Very pretty Marianne. I haven't used this technique for a long time but recently saw it demonstrated at a show. Your card looks lovely.

Wow this is gorgeous Marianne and what a bargain with those stamps and dies. Sorry I am not around much. I am training with the Salvation Army to become a soldier. It is taking a lot of my time.

This is really strange, as last week I got some Vellum out of its drawer to play with again. I used it all the time about 15 years ago. Yesterday I even got out my H20s for an airing! Love the flowers and a very pretty card. Great background too. Hugs, Carol S.xx

Wonderful card! A very successful go at the embossing and colouring of the vellum as the flowers look gorgeous. Teamed with the lovely paper and different textures from the scrim and lace your experiment worked out beautifully. Debra x
