New stash and my thoughts on the show

Sharing some photos of my lovely new goodies I bought yesterday. Starting with a couple of paper pads and some of the stamps. Usually I buy more dies but this time I bought lots of stamps. Yes there is yet another snowman stamp! Keep reading for more.

Stocking up on basics at great prices.

Just a few dies this time. The owl one I bought for cutting felt as I am really enjoying sewing again.

Some trees to decorate and embellishments.

And these are the things I am most excited about. Very different for me. We were so impressed by the samples and demos and I really want to give them a try. It was so hard to choose and as you can see I bought quite a selection. Some of them will be useful all year round and of course I had to buy the snowmen stamps. I am hoping to have a go this afternoon with them.

It was the first time Crafting Live have had a show at Peterborough and it was very much as we expected. Not as big a show as Doncaster. Lovely venue, free car parking and only £1 donation to the British Legion to get in, though I did win some tickets from a blogging buddy. It was 50p donation to charity to the cloakroom. We managed to see all the stalls with comfort. There were quite a few stalls with rummage bins, always good fun. A nice amount of visitors, not so busy you couldn't see the demos, like some shows. Many familiar stalls were there and we managed to spend out. I heard several people were disappointed with the NEC last week, visitor numbers were way down and a friend who goes regularly said she wouldn't go again, too expensive and too many companies no longer doing it. One stallholder I talked to said it was now too expensive for her and she won't be doing it again. Maybe smaller shows are the way to go. We certainly had a lovely day out and it only took 2 hours to get home.

Lovely assortment of goodies Marianne. I love the Card-io stamps and have a few myself. Thank you for the report, hopefully they will have it again next year. If so I may go there instead of NEC

A great haul Marianne.

I have a feeling I saw you - sitting at one of the tables near the coffee stall before the show opened ? I was going to chance it and come over and ask if it was you but hubby through that would be so rude if I got it wrong. So if that was you I am sorry we missed each other again.

I only went for a short time as been in hospital this week for a small op but wanted to catch up with Nancy and Steph, had a quick catch up with them and Toni at Stamps by me and was back home by lunchtime, but did manage a few crafty buys. Although smaller than the NEC I thought it was friendlier and seemed some good bargains, do hope they do it again in Peterborough.

A fabulous crafty stash there Marianne. I enjoyed it too and agree with the space to get round and see everything. I hear they might be doing live broadcasts of the shows from there next year which will be nice but I hope it stays reasonably small and intimate as I prefer the atmosphere of the smaller shows. It's just an hour away for us which is great as the other half was able to drop me at the show and come home. The only thing I would say to anyone thinking of going next time is bring your own food. Mum and I decided to buy food there so we didn't have to carry it around but at £5 for a baguette next time we shall be bring our own and leave the bag at the cloakroom, after all that's more pennies to spend on crafty stash! Creative Blessings, Tracy x

Fabulous crafty haul there Marianne. I also bought a snowflake set from Card-io. Not heard of them before so thought I would get one set to try out. Have to say being a Peterboroughian, I thought it wouldn't be very good, but it was well worth the 10 mins drive from my house! I have been to the NEC in the past and hated it - too long to get there, in traffic jams for ages, expensive to park and once you get in, it is so busy you miss so much. Yesterday I thought was perfect. Busy but not heaving. Could still walk around fairly slowly and browse everything without people pushing and shoving you out of the way. I also thought the workshops were a great idea, although I didn't do any as I had my BF with me and didn't think it was fair to make him stand and watch. If they do it again there, I hope they keep it fairly small. If they did one in the summer,, they could also have all the stalls outside too! :D xxx

Looks like you had a productive time dearie. Lots of lovely goodies. Interested in how you get on with the cardio stamps as the demos look amazing so I've been tempted to buy some but have yet to take the plunge. Glad you enjoyed yourself. Hugs xxx

Great selection of new goodies, Marianne. Looking forward to seeing what you do with them.

I gave a NEC a miss this year, too expensive to get in and cost a fortune for parking. The smaller ones are much better value and I seem to spend just as much! xx

Sounds like you had a great time Marianne, smaller venues are definitely the way to go. I used to go to the NEC all the time or the SECC but last year I did the material and wool show in Edinburgh, smaller scale but much better to get around.

Enjoy playing with your lovely new stash, hugs Erika. x
