Magic

I haven't managed any scrapbooking for a while and have been longing to do some so on Sunday evening whilst hubby was watching a car programme I decided it was time for a layout. I couldn't believe how easily this page came together in just 40 minutes! Sometimes I fiddle around for ages getting the layout sorted and trying to find just the right embellishments.

Whilst on holiday in Cornwall several years ago we visited an exhibition which had various cars from TV and film. This is the famous flying car from the Harry Potter film and we thought the trick photo was a fun reminder. I added some LOTV Up, Up and Away paper, a couple of We R Memory Keepers tags, Memory Box die cut clouds, letters and enamel dots and stars bought in America. I remembered I had a scarf in some old stash and was so happy to find it was in Gryffindor colours.

New Trainers

Another sample card for one of the new stamps from Stamposaurus. This comes with a smaller trainer too and I will be sharing a card made with that one another day. This was a fun image to colour with Copics. I love red white and blue for cards and this would make a great card for a teenager. In fact I think I shall be making one for my stock. The papers are Papermania Ahoy There and I added some star buttons from America and some baker's twine.

We are going into Norwich today as I am having a facial and back massage and hubby is having a back massage. We both find having a massage every 4-6 weeks really beneficial.

Commissioned Wedding Card

I had a commission for 3 8" cards and this is one I am sharing with you. I have blanked out the names on the card for my blog. I was asked to use this Cheery Lynn diecut and luckily I bought several of these from somebody on Facebook as I don't have this die as it is rather expensive and I am not sure how often I would use it so buying the diecuts was a good idea.  I used  LOTV Always and Forever papers and covered the wooden butterfly with paper for a change. The birdcage is a Memory Box die and  I added a computer generated sentiment and flowers and pearls.

Heart plaques

I have been making a few heart plaques for my craft stall and sewing plaques are always popular so when I bought the cute wooden sewing bits and MDF hearts at Ally Pally I had this in mind. The paper is a mag freebie, stamp is Kaisercraft, lace and ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. I used some embroidery thread on the buttons and cotton reel and added some pearls.

For the second one I have used a heart which I made at The MDF Man's make and take using paper from The House of Zandra. His tip on rough cutting the papers and then holding the heart over the edge of the desk and sanding the edges was really useful. It gives a really neat edge.

We only covered the hearts on his stall so when I got home I added the ribbon and embellishments. The lovely burlap paper flowers and butterfly were a gift from my friend Lynsey. I also used some paper flowers with tiny buttons from Hobbycraft, a button and pearls.

Andy at play in Making cards magazine

These were 3 cards I had published in last month's Making Cards Magazine. They don't like me showing them on my blog at the time of publication but now that the new magazine is out I can share them with you. I love Andy from Pink Gem and for these 3 cards I used the pre coloured digis. The papers are First Edition It's a Boy, dies are Spellbinders curved border and Marianne birds on a wire, ribbon from The Hobby House.

You may remember I made some lego bricks before with card and card candi. I thought it would be fun to share that idea with the magazine readers.

Same papers and ribbon and another one from the curved border set. I am so glad I bought this set as I have used it a lot, unlike some of my other dies. I must try to remedy that.

The sentiment is inkylicious which I die cut with an MFT pierced rectangle. The embossing folder is Embossalicious with sanded Core'dinations. The pink die is Joy from Noor! Ally Pally goodies

As promised I am back with a second post to show what I bought yesterday. Although it is called the Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show there wasn't a lot of scrapbooking in evidence. I used to enjoy looking at all the pretty layouts. However there were still plenty of stalls for us to enjoy and it was lovely to spend the day with Lynsey as we both like looking at the same things. It was lovely to meet up with some blogging buddies and teamies too. These are the papers and stamps I bought.

The essentials.

Items to decorate from the MDF Man

Dies, Copics and embellishments. That was the other thing there was a shortage of pretty embellishments. I wanted some red card candi and navy baker's twine but couldn't find any. there were packs of mixed candi but I only need red. I have white which I can colour but I prefer to use red.

Very pleased with my new purchases which have all been put away. Hubby was amazed it all fitted in.  Can't wait to have a play with it all now. Next craft show will probably be the NEC in November. We usually go on the Thursday, might see some of you there.

Scotties in the rain

Our challenge at Little Claire this month is to use kraft. I love kraft so this was an easy challenge for my DT card as I have used it for layering and also for the umbrella die. I used the cute Scottie dogs stamp set coloured with Copics and I added some glossy accents. The papers are Docrafts spots and stripes jewels. I used a MS border punch, Memory Box die paper pieced with tartan paper from Little Claire and some ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.

I had a lovely time at Ally Pally and bought lots and lots, pics of goodies to follow. Candy also coming soon. I do like to treat my followers. The WiFi in the Premier Inn wasn't up to too much blogging on the IPad and we didn't get home until 8pm so apologies if I haven't visited.

Maisy with roses

As this publishes I expect to be having my breakfast in the Premier In at Edmonton where we were booked in last night. This morning I am off to the BSSB at Ally Pally. Hubby drove myself and Lynsey and whilst Lynsey and I head off to the show he will be having a look round the audio and vinyl record shops nearby before we head home this evening suitably laden with crafting goodies. I am looking forward to meeting up with some blogging buddies too.

So onto my card which is my DT card for the new challenge at A Gem of a Challenge where our challenge is Spring is in the air.

Let's go fly a kite

I love the Gorjuss Girls and really should use the stamps more. When I saw the Gorjuss party at Sugar Nellie I knew I would have to play along. You just have to make a card using a Gorjuss Girl stamp, I bought these cute kites from Michaels during my recent hol in Florida and I have been longing to use them. She is actually flying with a balloon but I decided to cover the balloon with a kite.  I wanted to create a cas card as I love challenging myself to make these sometimes.

Stamposaurus Motorbike

As promised this morning I am back with a second post today to share another of the samples I made for Stamposaurus using their new stamps. Isn't this a great image which I coloured with Copics and Sakura blue star and clear star pens. The papers are a couple of last pieces of  Echo Park Boy's Life. I also used a couple of star punches and a crimper and the waste from the Tim Holtz hexagon die I used a couple of weeks ago. I left the waste pieces on my desk thinking they looked too useful to throw away and I was right.

We had a lovely day out yesterday with our friends. A bracing but sunny walk along the prom at the seaside, great musical Dreamboats and Miniskirts and then a carvery in the evening. Today we are chilling at home, hubby is cutting the grass and I am crafting and scheduling posts. Looking forward a lovely dinner later and then settle down to Sunday night TV including my favourite programme of the week, Poldark. Planning to go out for the day tomorrow, Hope you are all having a lovely Easter.

Lake Maggiore

As soon as I saw the new challenge, Spring Pin, at The Studio Challenges I was determined to play along and knew just the photos I could use. The inspiration pic for the challenge is

The photos are from our first Italian holiday in 1993 where we were lucky enough to see the beautiful flower festival. They spent al day decorating and in the evening the boats all went out onto the lake surrounded by floating candles. They then had a wonderful firework display also on the lake.

I used some old papers from K&Co and Basic Grey, tags from WE R Memory Keepers and Craftwork Cards and some flowers and pearls. I couldn't decide on a title but once I saw the chipboard Memories amongst my scrapbooking stash I thought it matched perfectly and te page does conjure up vivid memories of that day. As I used some old papers it also fits their use up your old stash challenge so one layout for 2 of their challenges.
