Where's my chauffeur?

These Art Deco cards are so popular at craft fairs and I have another simple card to share with you today. This is an 8x8 card as the image is so large. Image, paper and sentiment from the Papermania Art Deco collection and the clock was made using a TH die and spray and sparkle.

Wine anyone?

To finish off a busy week we have a busy weekend. On Wednesday we went to the theatre in Norwich to see Bohemian Rhapsody which was absolutely fantastic. I like Queen's music but wouldn't call myself a fan particularly. This wasn't a tribute band but a show with singer and dancers and amazing costumes which looked like something from a Matthew Bourne ballet. Today we are going to the coast and have tickets for the Seaside Variety show on the pier. As far as I know it is the only pier with a show in England now. It is really popular, we went last year and loved it.

Bathing Beauty

Whew, finally got a chance to sit down and post today's card. There are a couple of reasons that I have been so busy this week. The first is that I have been having a lot of balance problems and having been backwards and forwards to the doctor and neurologist for over a year, a 3 hr visit to the ENT dept last wek, with loads of tests, has now linked the problem to labyrinthitis which I first had 3 yrs ago and again a year later., something I have always suspected. I have a series of balance tests to do twice a day and then have to go back 1 Aug.

The second is that I joined Slimming World last week.My first weigh in last night and 3lbs lost. It took me a few days to get the balance of foods right so I am really pleased with that as a start. So by the time I get home that's 2 hrs gone. I have spent time sorting what to eat and reading all about it so with the forms to fill in for this and my balance tests I seem to have used up a lot of time this week which I would normally spend crafting. If I can lose some weight and get my balance problems sorted it will be worth it.

A WOW card to die for

Where is this week going? I seem to have been so busy that I haven't had much time for crafting. I usually have at least a couple of posts scheduled but I have none at the moment. Still hubby is off out tonight to watch the powerboat racing so I shall be in the craftroom getting ahead hopefully.

So here's a card I made this morning before getting on with the housework. I wanted to make something different and had a play around with some diecuts and Centura pearl card. The vase I made from cutting around a diecut Spellbinders vase which had a cut our pattern on it and I wanted a solid vase to emboss. The flowers are some new purchases, Lily of the Valley and Bluebells. Small butterfly and watering can are Marianne dies and the other butterflies are Cheery Lynn. Just a few pearls on the butterflies and card made.

Look what I caught!

Meet Curly, one of the new Lil Dumplings from Pollycraft, did you know that the lovely Paula is back with new images. I just couldn't resist the bundle of 10 digis for £7.50, what a bargain. This is Curly and he was such fun to colour with my Copics. I teamed him with Echo Patk Boy's Life papers, Dienamics surfboard and shell dies, a large button from Crafty Ribbons nautical range, raffia, DO Wild Honey, glossy accents and some old letter stickers which match the bright papers so well. I really love how this card turned out.

Sleigh full of presents

Our challenge at Winter Wonderland this week is presents. Now you can use an image with presents or make a present it is up to you. Our wonderful sponsor this week is

so I decided to use one of last year's Christmas digis and some of their gorgeous ribbon too. I coloured part of the image with red Copics and teamed it with kraft and Papermania Home for Christmas papers. I added some stickles and a wooden snowflake.

Almost 6 months since last Christmas which means it just over 6 months to this Christmas so if you haven't started on those cards yet now is the time to make a start.

If you haven't yet signed up to Bloglovin' please do. The more I have read the more people seem convinced we shall lose our Google blog reading list. I would hate to lose some of you so take five minutes and sign up. It really is that fast and so simple. That way if the worst happens you will be sure you can still find me xx

Steampunk cogs and clocks

Something very different today. As much as I love making cute and pretty cards sometimes I love playing around with something like this. I had no idea where I was going with it to start with but once I had decided on the Docrafts Chronology papers the card grew from there. I used a Marianne key die and a Sizzix on the edge steampunk die which I heat embossed with WOW copper powder. The clock charm is from Wild Orchid and I finished it off with some frantage.

Melinda Musing

I had a lovely me day yesterday with my massage and haircut. We have a Virgin Money lounge in Norwich and if you have a Virgin Money account you can use it for free, which is lovely. Comfy seats, cold drinks, tea, coffee and biscuits and iPads to use, so I popped infor a free drink and managed to catch up on a few blogs before doing a bit of shopping. When I got home I then made this card to share with you today.
Lots of ironing today and then some crafty time.

I can't remember the last time I used a Sarah Kay stamp, which is a shame as they are so gorgeous. I bought this one from somebody on Facebook, in one of the craft selling groups. I had no idea what colours I was going to use until I chose these Papermania Persimmon papers. I love blue and brown together, makes a change from more girlie colours. She has been coloured with Copics. The banner die which I use twice is from La La Land and the bicycle is a Marianne die.

Cute Anniversary

I had a fun day yesterday at Lynsey's helping her to sort out her craft room. A mammoth task and far more than we could do in a day but we made great progress. She told me I had to be ruthless with her so she didn't keep things she would never use. She now has a plan of action to move forward and get it finished. It is looking much better already and she has a pile of unwanted stuff to sell.

Yesterday was a friends anniversary and this is the cad I made them.

Making a mess of my desk with frantage

I decided to have another play with the frantage again and oh boy, what a messy desk I ended up with. Now I don't do messy and tried very hard not to make a mess. Sprinkling it on was fine as I have old card I use so I can put the unused stuff back in the pot. I have a plastic box and use the top for sanding and I use the card inside the bottom for embossing powders, glitter and spray glitter. It is when I heat the frntage the mess begins as it is fine I couldn't help some of it going on my heat mat and desk. So once I had finished heating out came the baby wipe and kitchen towel before I could continue. The frantage is so sparkly shame it doesn't show in the pic. I used it on the image, corner and metal flower.

Cowboys and Indians

I bought this stamp at Ally Pally last September and inked him up but haven't got round to colouring him until now. I just love him so don;t know why it took me so long. I stamped the sentiment from LOTV's  Summer Bears Companion set. I use this little sentiment a lot. He has been coloured with Copics and teamed with spotty paper from LOTV Nitwits and striped paper from Echo Park A Boy's Life. I looped some string to match the lassoo and added some star buttons from America. I decided I wanted to use leather strips in the buttons which was fine in the 2 largest ones but was 2 big for the smallest one. What a job it was to cut a thin strip in half but when I have an idea in mind nothing else will do.

Happy Anniversary Hubby

Last Wednesday it was our Wedding Anniversary and this is the card I made hubby. I wanted to make something different for him. He loves the vintage cards I make and loves steam trains so this is what I came up with for an 8 x 8 card. The couple in the railway carriage (a free vintage digital stamp) made me smile and they go so well with the Little Claire train. The papers are Michaels from the US and I stamped some Tim Holtz birds and a clock onto the paper. I also used a Dienamics Eiffel Tower die from My Mum's Craft Shop and some washi tape.

This is a sticky post until June 5th

I can't believe my little blog will be 4 years old in June. My first post was on 6 June 2009 and I would like to celebrate by giving away a lovely candy. I deliberated over whether to buy some goodies and then I thought why not let the winner choose their own. So I have chosen this as the prize

Teresa has so many lovely things to choose from in her online shop including stamps, papers, embellishments and a huge selection of Memory Box dies.

Usual rules apply please.

Racing Hubby

Today is my Wedding Anniversary and as well as a card which will be on my blog another day I also made this scrapbook page for Hubby. He used to race hydroplanes and then as the tag says he met me and couldn't afford us both. It isn't something I am at all interested in but he goes to watch them some Thursday evening leaving me free to craft. There is one woman who goes and moans all the time and sits playing computer games. I would rather we both spent time enjoying our separate hobbies. There are plenty of things we both enjoy together.

The papers are DCWV Nantucket and Papermania Ahoy There. The gorgeous ribbon and buttons are from a new nautical range at Crafty Ribbons.

Crafty Ribbons have now joined blogger and you can find their new blog here. They are holding a follower's candy so hop over for the chance to win these

This new blog is the shop blog. there is also of course still the challenge blog and the inspirations blog.

So after all that I would like to enter my scrapbook page into the following challenges.

Harriet and Frantage

I'm back with a second post today. I have used one of the gorgeous new vintage digis from Pink Gem. I have found getting the skin right with Copics has been challenging and I rmember I felt the same when I used Promarkers. Once I had it right I was always happy with the skin and I think I have finally cracked it with the Copics. I am actually happy with the skin for a change. This is a great image for practicing, that's for sure.

Whilst I was away I bought some frantage to try and this is my  first play with it. Again, not perfect but fun to play with. I have teamed the image with Papermania Vintage Notes papers, some if my favourite lace, Wid Orchid flowers, Craftwork Cards sentiment and some pearls.

Sew On

What a busy day yesterday with 4 loads of holiday washing, ironing and food stock up not to mention getting to grips with the upgraded laptop. It is taking a bit of getting used to. I have had to sign myself into everything, download Google Chrome and find my way around Windows 7. It is certainly much faster.

I have used one of the lovely coloured images from The Paper Shelter which goes so perfectly with the ribbon and buttons from Crafty Ribbons, which have been tied with raffia. The paper was a freebie. Hoping to get some crafting done today but first I must do a bit of housework and there is still an awful lot of ironing.

How adorable is this

As well as having our laptop upgraded we have also been away for a holiday but I never like to advertise that on my blog as it is linked to Facebook and I am a cautious person when it comes to telling people I am away from home. We should have arrived home yesterday afternoon/evening and I am hoping we are getting our laptop back today. We spent 3 nights in Harrogate and went to see our favourite singer Midge Ure in concert on the Wednesday evening. We also went to visit the Lili of the Valley shop, which was such a lovely shop with loads of samples to inspire. Then we went up to Cumbria for 2 nights. Thank you so much for all your lovely comments whilst we have been away. I did manage a few in return on the iPad, but nowhere near as many as usual.

I normally enter every Sugar Bowl challenge, usually more than once as you know I love my SN stamps. For the first time for years I won it in April and this is one of the four stamps I chose. Isn't it adorable.

Another scheduled post, fingers crossed, whilst my laptop is upgraded so no chat about what is happening or challenges this week but I hope you are enjoying my posts. I need some more bags for my craft fair stall and these LOTV diecuts are great for a quick make. I used Docrafts Me to You papers, an old Sizzix balloon die, fineliner pen and Memory Box clouds which have been embossed with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Just a few days left to enter my candy.
