Walking in a Winter Wonderland and some exciting news

Our theme this week at Winter Wonderland is Walking in a Winter Wonderland so we would like to see images of people or animals walking in snow. There's a great prize on offer from Simon Says. I've used one of the gorgeous new stamps from LOTV coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. The papers are from various pads. I thought I would try a softer colour scheme than just red and green for this one and I'm really pleased with the effect. I've used glass glitter on the fur and glitter flock on the snow.  I've used my MS PATP holly set, XCut embossed ivy punch and Woodware holly punch with a Wild Orchid cherry blosom and some red pearls. Sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Hope you'll join in the fun. I still have loads of Christmas cards to make especially as I make them to sell as well as all my own and I just don't do this less is more thing. More is better I think.

Feed the birds

I was delighted to be asked to be the first guest designer at Natalie and Amy's Challenge. They have a lovely online store and I wish them every success with the challenge and the store.

I have chosen this cute Crafter's Companion image, many of these stamps are avilable at Natalie and Amy's. Coloured with Promarkers with glitter flock for snow. I wanted to use traditional Christmas colours and these papers which are MME and HOTP, both freebies last year with magazines, were perfect. I found the sparkly twine when I was having a sort out of my ribbons and lace the other day. I have had it for years and never used it for some odd reason. I've used my new MS bird on a wire border punch and coloured a Kars wooden bird so it looks like a robin.

White Wedding

This is my second post for today and something very different fr me. I have made the occasional white on white Christmas card but never a Wedding card and I am really pleased with the way it turned out. I've used snow white Centura pearl which is fabulous for white on white cards as it has such a lovely sheen and embosses so well. I found the embossing sentiment, which I had absolutely no idea I had and have never used before but now I've found it will be using it again and again. I've embossed the background, added a die cut MB bird and cage and a heart doily. The image has been edged in DI Antique Linen and coloured with Promarkers. I wanted to keep her dress white so just added a touch of shading with Ivory and lots of pearl dots with a Viva Ice white pen.

More new stamps

Yes it's another new stamp, well 3 actually but these came as a set and aren't they cute, LOTV of course. Coloured with Promarkers with Sakura Rosestar in the centre of the flowers. I thought I would have some fun with these images and used Dovecraft Piece of Cake papers. I die cut the spotty circles and scattered lots of MB die cut butterflies using a Viva pearl pen in the centre. The sentiment is made from kraft with DI Vintage Photo and a Teddy Bo sentiment. The wooden flowers are Kars again darkened with Di Vintage Photo, definitely my most used Distress Ink by far.

Another of my new stamps

When I saw that Pops was selling some stamps on her Facebook page of course I had to take a look, well I say some, 212! I just had to buy this cute Bildmalarna couple as I make a lot of wedding cards to sell. This card though is for a couple of friends who are getting married on Saturday.I went for lilac for a change from pink, using Papermania Boysenberry papers and some lovely spotted organza ribbon. The bouquet is made up from Crealie die cut leaves and kraft and Wild Orchid flowers.

I had a couple of people intrigued by my free lunch (see yesterday's post) and they want to know more. We booked our hotels for our Autumn holiday at Virgin holidays in the House of Fraser (HOF) store and got a HOF card to collect points to spend. Bought some bedding and a couple of other things too and accrued £15 to spend. Went to Cafe Zest in HOF for coffee and asked about spending the points and were told we could provided we paid balance by card (something to do with the way they deal with the cards!) Went there for lunch a couple of weeks ago and ordered and tried to use card and were told we couldn't as they are not HOF but independent. Hubby not happy and complained, so we paid. Result manager came over very apologetic and offered us a free lunch next time. So we had a free lunch and the used the £15 in store. They do very nice lunches by the way and great customer service.

Let's fly

Well what a great weekend I have had. The craft fair on Friday was amazing, the best I have ever done. I sold 44 cards, a notebook and a doorhanger. The one on Saturday was very well organised but unfortunately not very busy, still sold another 10 cards so made a little money after paying for my stall. Will be busy restocking now. Yesterday started well as I found out I won the Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge, prize guest designer next month, 2 digis and 2 rubber stamps. EB stamps from Sugar Nellie were some of my first stamps and I have always loved her images. We went into the city and I bought some Gabor boots reduced from £95 to £45, beautiful soft leather ankle boots, found a lovely top, hubby used some vouchers to get a free box of Adnams real ale and we had a free lunch at House of Fraser (that's a long story as to why it was free). Last night was the last episode of my fave TV programme, Once Upon a Time and what a fantastic ending. Can't wait for the new series next year.

So hubby is off to watch some powerboat racing this afternoon and I will be crafting. I made this card when I got home yesterday using one of my new Sugar Nellie stamps. I have wanted Little Aviator for a while and he is so lovely to colour with Promarkers and Flexmarkers of course. The papers are Echo Park A Boy's Life, The backing paper suits the image so well ad I love the colours of these papers as well as the fact they are double sided and both sides are gorgeous. I've used my MS zigzag punch and added some star buttons tied with baker's twine.

Vintage but new

Regular visitors will know that I have been out at craft fairs the last two days. Today's activities will depend upon the weather so I've scheduled a post in case I am out today.

A simple but effective card I thought. I recently bought this Kaisercraft stamp and stamped it onto kraft card. Lots of distressed edges and DI Vintage Photo, my most used DI. The papers are Bo Bunny Timepiece and I just added a ticket sentiment and some K&Co metal embellishments.

Baby girl

Our challenge this week at Totally Gorjuss is Baby, Baby. Our sponsor is Lili of The Valley. I used one of my fave bay stamps from Whiff of Joy. The paper is Paper Cellar Victorian Velvet, sentiment from LOTV. I added some lace from Wild Orchid and MS punched butterflies with pearls. The flower is made up from an MB die cut buckle, flower, finding and brad.

I was selling at a craft fair yesterday and another one today so catch you later.

Sprinkle some love

I have been selling at a craft fair at the Hospital today. This is usually a very successful event so fingers crossed for good sales. I have scheduled this post and should be home around now so will link up the challenges.

I felt the need for some new stamps this week and bought 3 Sugar Nellie plus 1 for my next candy, 2 from LOTV and 2 from Pops who was advertising lots for sale on Facebook. This is the first of my new purchases from Sugar Nellie. She has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with glitter on their wings. The gorgeous papers are Marianne Designs Elaine's Huis. I found the butterfly ribbon in my stash, the prim poppy is an MB die and the sentiment is a Totally Gorjuss label with handwritten sentiment.

Christmas in Mulberry Wood

I'm back with a second post today, this time with a Christmas card featuring A Christmas Gift stamp from te Mulberry Wood from Crafter's Companion. They have been coloured with Promarkers. I also used a white gel pen, Sakura Goldstar pen, Letraset fineline for faux stitching and glitter. I've made a patchwork card before but with squares so this time decided to go with rectangles using Papermania Classic Christmas. I added some Woodware punched holly leaves, Marianne die cut and card candi for berries.

Well here we are at Thursday already and almost September. I've ordered some new stamps this week but before they arrive I thought I would use this LOTV stamp which hasn't been used for ages. Isn't she so cute with her powder puff. She has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I felt it was a while since I had made a purple card and I love these First Edition Dreamcatcher papers. The roses are Wild Orchid with MS punched fern leaves, corner and butterflies are MB dies and I finished off with a Viva Decor Pearl Pen.

Blue

You know sometimes wen you just want to try something different. Well I have never coloured blue hair before but these Simply Sassy girls from Sugar Nellie look great with coloured hair so I gave it a go. I decided to stick with the blue and used Papermania capsule papers. The flowers were made with a MS hydrangea punch, Woodware punched leaves and pearls from The Hobby House. I've used DI Broken China on all the edges. I found the stamped sentiment in my sentiment file, think it's Crafter's Companion.

Crystal Flakes

I haven't used this gorgeous stamp from Sugar Nellie for a while and as I want to make at least one Christmas card a week out came Crystal Flakes. She has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers with lots of glitter for the fur. I've used this great sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

The papers are my fave Christmas papers at the moment, Bo Bunny Snowfall. I added some Anita's Christmas ribbon and some crocheted flowers from my stash. I couldn't find the right colour flower to put behind the MS punched snowflake so coloured a white one with a Promarker.

Seuss Landing

Whew, what a scorching weekend we had. 28 - 30 degrees is way too hot for me. Headed off to the coast on Saturday where the sea breeze was lovely. Yesterday we were selling cards at a motor show and fun day. Did fairly well. Luckily we could have the sides off the gazebo so we did manage to catch a bit of breeze at times. So no crafting or bloghopping this weekend. However I made this layout on Friday. The photos are from Universal's Islands of Adventure in Florida. It has themed areas with the most amazing buildings and details. It also has huge rollercoasters which just aren't for me. This is Seuss landing where you can meet the Cat in The Hat and The Grinch at Christmas. The buildings are really quirky and this train ride is my sort of ride. Great views of the park from up there and nice and slow.

The backing card is Core'dinations, minimum papers on this one, which are Daisy and Dandelion A Winter's Tale. I tore and distressed the edges using DI Faded Jeans and Worn Lipstick. I cut the train photo into 6 and mounted it onto peach card to pick up the colour from the bottom photo. The borders are K&Co and I found the chipboard tag and star brad in my Christmas stash.

I have been so pleased to find some challenges specifically for scrapbooking, Creative Craft World and Cards Galore Scrapbook where they have a DT call, which I am entering.

If you haven't tried scrapbooking I urge you to give it  a try. It is quite different to cardmaking in many ways, very satisfying to make something with your photos and it is for you, whereas the cards we make are either to give away or sell. Of course, scrapbooks make great gifts too. we look at our photos far more now they are in scrapbooks than we ever did photo albums. Expect to see more layouts appearing amongst the cards on my blog.

Friends

A scheduled post from me as I am out selling in my gazebo today at a motor show and family fun day. I am hoping the weather will be a bit cooler though the forecast is for another hot day. Bit too hot for my liking at the moment.

Today's card features one of the LOTV die cuts edged in DI Vintage Photo. The papers are Bo Bunny Timepiece, sentiment is a Kanban stamp with a Craftwork Cards ticket. I have used MB dies Chloe Stem and Macarena corner with pearls from The Hobby House.

Our challenge at Totally Gorjuss this week is The String's The Thing and we are sponsored by Heather's Hobbie Haven. It's my Mum's Birthday next Tuesday and as I used to embroider and my Mum used to sew, knit and crochet I thought this card suited her well.

Arty Crafty

Quite a different colour scheme on this one for me, which was inspired by the colour challenge at Loves Ruberstamps. As soon as I found the MME Dilly Dally papers I was away. The image is from Sugar Nellie coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I used my blanket stitch Sew Stamper and a MB Cherry Blossom Die. Pearls from The Hobby House. This is my second entry using The Sugar Bowl sketch.

Welcome little one

I hope you enjoyed my panda layout this morning. I am happy to report neither of us had to have any work done at the dentist ans don't have to go back for 9 months. It does make me laugh making an appointment for next May. Who know what I will be doing then.

So, onto my card which features a cute stamp from Tina Wenke which has been coloured with Promarkers. The papers are some gorgeous new ones, Eline's Huis, from Marianne Designs. I have used MB willow dragonfly, butterflies and prim poppy, some ribbon, sentiment free with a magazine and Viva pearl pen.

Wow, Giant Panda

I'm off the dentist today for a checkup, so keeping my fingers crossed as always that he doesn't find anything wrong. I've scheduled my final layout from Saturday. We had a wonderful time when we went to Washington and the zoo there is beautiful. It is owned, as are the museums, by The Smithsonian Institute, and entry to all of them is free. It was amazing to see the Giant Pandas. I was really pleased to get this photo of one of them. They give them the bag with food in it as they vary things for them to keep them active and interested.

I have used Core'dinations Flower Power for the backing, lovely soft colours in this pack. The papers are Stampin' Up, which I won about three years ago and have hardly used. I added some scrim, MB clouds. a Jolee's Boutique panda sticker which is soft and fluffy and bought specially for this page when I was in America. I just needed something in the bottom lefthand corner as the space was bugging me and remembered I had this snag em stamp.

Sunbathing beauty

Well here I am back with a card today. This gorgeous Kraftin' Kimmie girl certainly looks like she is enjoying the sun. I used DI Wild Honey to give a beach effect and glossy accents on her sunglasses. The papers are Fancy Pants Beach Babe, corners are a Sizzix die and the sentiment is a digi from Th Crafty Pad. I am hoping to get at least one more made today but unfortunately there is a big pile of ironing waiting for me.

Magical

As promised I am back with my second layout for today. I'm really pleased with the way this one came out and love the blue and white. The two photos are of Cinderella's castle and a view from near the castle looking towards to The Crystal Palace where you can dine with Pooh and friends, and yes, we have. You just have to forget your age and go with the flow at Disney to get the most out of your holiday.

I've sanded the Core'dinations and made banners from various papers, addede some raffia, letter stickers and a Papermania journalling tag. The sketch at Sketch Saturday was perfect for a layout.

New Year's Eve in Florida

I had a lovely day on Saturday as my friend Lynsey came over and we spent the day making layouts. We managed to make three each. It was great to take some time off from cardmaking and lovely to have somebody to work with as we shared ideas and made suggestions to each other. I have a pile of holiday photos to work my way through and won;t get them finished before the next holiday I know.

Lynsey introduced me to a scrapbook blog and challenge, Sarah's Cards, and we both used the sketch for our first layout. I used a photo from a few years ago, taken in The Magic Kingdom in Orlando. They give the hats and blowers away and of course when everyone first get them you have never heard such a noise. Then it quietens down until the New Year Fireworks, which are amazing.

I have used Papermania Portobello Road and DCWV Nantucket papers, Sizzix Wingo Zingo alphabet, Woodware star punch and Xcut star dies.

I'll be back later with another layout to share.

Dress up Santas

I'm selling cards (I hope) today so am sharing another of the Stamposaurus samples with you using one of the new Christmas Mischief collection. This card actually features on the front page of the online shop. There are lots of great card ideas in the card gallery of the shop so why not hop over to see more. I have used Promarkers and glitter flock on the beards and fur. The sentiment comes with the stamp, a very useful one I will be using again and again. I've made the holly with a Woodware punch and card candi.

Another lovely sunny day, not too hot, just how I like it. It was misty first thing and you could see spider's webs on the grass, made me think that Autumn isn't far away, my favourite season. I seem to be in pastel mood at the moment as I have another soft coloured card for you today. The gorgeous girlie is a Sugar Nellie image. It amuses me that she has 2 dogs but a cat on her bag.

Bookworm

I had my friend round again yesterday for her cardmaking class. She thoroughly enjoyed herself. We made three cards in three hours. I make samples up first and then we both make them. The challenge for me is finding cards to make without stamped images that need colouring. Not sure if we will progress to colouring some day. Also she doesn't like cute images!!  One of the cards we made was an anniversary card for her husband. She did so well but when she had finished I found her laughing as she had put the image on so the card opened back to front! She left it like that as she said it would amuse him and he would know that she had made it.

Now I love reading, though since I started blogging I don't read as many books as I used to. I adore this image and she has been waiting to be coloured for some time.

In the garden

Well there's a lot going on in this 8 x 8 card isn't there. As soon as I saw the challenge of Summer Scene at Elisabeth Bell's World I knew I had to use one of my fave images. She was one of the first stamps I ever bought from Sugar Nellies and I absolutely love her. She has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. The papers are Henbury Lane with a piece of Raspberry Road. I have used the colour challenge of pink and green at Wild Orchid and pink plus one at Charisma . I've used that new MS bird on a wire border punch and a TH butterfly on the edge die. I have so many embossing folders and forget to use them so I thought I would try one on the butterflies and am really pleased with the effect. The flowers of course are Wild Orchid with MS punched leaves.

Tres chic

Here I am with my second post today as promised. After reading a mag I was keen to have a look at a website wit free vintage digital designs which you can find here. Not all the images are to my taste but I did find several that I liked and this dress form was one of them. I have distressed all the edges and used DI Vintage Photo. Papers are some new MME Dilly Dally. I have used a new tool, again which I saw in a mag and thought looked good. It is Sew Stamper and I bought the blanket stitch head which fits into my Sew Easy handle. It's self inking and you simply roll it along the paper. I also stamped a Tim Holtz corner scroll onto the green paper. The lace is from my stash and I threaded some ribbon through the holes in the lace. A few pearls and some scattered roses to finish.

View from the top and candy winner

We had a lovely day out at the coast yesterday, went for a long walk and the craft shop which isn't usually open on Sundays, was open and had 20% off so I had to pop in and take a look. I bought a small stamp, some wooden birds and a MS birds border punch which I haven't seen before. The punch was half price and then had 20% off so a bargain at £6.80.

I haven't had any time for scrapbooking lately so on Saturday I was determined to do a layout. I have nearly finished the pics of New York and Washington so would like to get them finished as soon as I can. The pictures speak from themselves really. I remembered I had this cloud paper from Craft Creations and have teamed it up with some Bo Bunny Et Cetera and Michaels papers. The clouds were made with an MB die and the postcard charm was from EBay.

At Totally Gorjuss this week we have a great sketch for you to use and the chance to win a voucher from Joanna Sheen. I have used one of my fave paper pads, Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby. I have used a neglected MS deep edge trellis punch and added some lovely glittery ribbon and bow. Rain again

This image is so typical of the Summer we have been having here in the UK. Even the days which start lovely like yesterday nearly always end in rain, yes like yesterday. Fine today so far though.

I have been admiring the set of Tim Holtz Visual Artistry stamps for some time and am so pleased I now have them, purchased from Simon Says. I don't know why but I love images with umbrellas and the sentiment is brilliant. I have used Bo Bunny Weekend Market papers, TH distressing tool, lots of DI Vintage Photo and MB umbrella and landscape dies with kraft card. My vintage cards sold so well at the weekend that I need to restock, which is great as I love making this style of card.

Pink Fairy

I thought I would share another of my Stamposaurus fairy cards with you today. This is Daisy and she is actually a Christmas fairy but she works well all year I think. I have coloured her with Promarkers and Sakura Rosestar pens. The gorgeous paper is Prima Sweet Fairy, flowers are Wild Orchid, MS rose leaf and fern punches.

I would like to enter her into the challenge of Summer at Little Claire and Dog Days of Summer at Delightful.
