Striving for perfection

I'm always striving to improve my colouring, particularly when you have such beautiful big dresses like the one in this Kraftin' Kimmie stamp Marie Antoinette. I find it difficult to leave some white and get it right. I think this is my best effort yet, which was helped by an article in January's Craft Stamper by Kim Costello.

I would like to enter this into the pearls and lace challenge at Totally Gorjuss and Anything Goes at Kraftin'Kimmie.

Image - Kraftin' Kimmie
Medium - Letraset Promarkers, Sakura clearstar and rosestar pens
Papers - Papercellar Victorian Burgundy and Papermania Blueberry Pie
Tools - MS Border punch
Flowers - Wild Orchid with silk leaves from Joanna Sheen
Embellishments – lace from stash, pearls from Crafty Emma's store

or was this the one you wanted me to comment on?
if so then I would say that you have all the shadow and highlights about right on the pink overskirt - the underskirt looks a little more difficult to handle. The skin all looks great. Personally I would take a really light shade (almond) and blend the hair a little more, make it look a wee bit softer - if it takes out to much of the depth of colour then you can always start the process over to add more depth (start with your darkest colour and go step by step like my tuts)
God I feel like a harridan now, it doesn't look like an easy image to colour - i don't have any of these stamps.

Wow Marianne I think you've done magnificent colouring on your Antoinette. The dress looks lovely and shiny, you could add a few highlighted areas to the blue underskirt the same as the pink!
Thanks so much for the mention,
BiG HuGs Kim :)
