Heart tree

Another play with some of my new stamps from Card-io and Inkylicious. I add a little background colour with a dry baby wipe and small ink pads then build up the pattern with the small stamps. There are endless possibilities with these sets and the Inkylicioud sentiments go so well with them.

Hippo Birthday

Time for a new challenge at A Gem of a Challenge and this time we want to see wet or dry embossing on your card. I have used one of Janet's newest images, Henrietta with flowers. I did enjoy colouring her with Copics of course. I went for a distressed look today using Santoro Willow papers and an old sentiment embossing folder which I embossed onto Core'dinations and then sanded.  I used a new Memory Box die, frangia bouquet. It's quite a large die but I just used the flowers and cut of the stems. I really like the uneven petals.

I hope the weather stays dry today. What a funny week it has been, sun, rain and even a little snow and hail. We are going to a 70's concert in Cromer tonight so thought we would have a day at the coast going to Sheringham and then on to Cromer. Think we will be wrapping up warm.

Don't forget to check out my candy.

Prosecco time

This is one of the images we started colouring in the folds class on Saturday.  We only coloured the skirt which I was fairly happy with. I decided to go over it again partly to remind myself of the technique and partly to try to achieve a smoother blend. I also wanted to colour the rest of the image which is  a rubber stamp from Little Darlings, Prosecco Time by All Dressed Up. I felt like making the card clean and simple so used another of the MFT basic border dies and added some doodling. The sentiment is LOTV teenage girls and I used a Copic sparkle pen on the flower.  The papers are Lilybee Sweet Shoppe. I used a Wimsy die for the banners.

Today I am sharing a few of my recent fridge magnets, some made with my new Inkylicious sentiments.  I have been amazed at how many magnets I have sold since I started making them.

Fairy wings

I absolutely loved the colouring classes at the weekend. If you love Copics and get the chance to do them I can't recommend them highly enough. Faye is a wonderful teacher and I learnt so much, This is one of the first images I coloured since the course and although it isn't perfect I can certainly see an improvement especially in the hair. I always struggled to get enough light in the hair but I am pretty pleased with how this turned out.

So onto my image and it is a new LOTV image called Fairy Wings launching on 10 May to coincide with their 13th Birthday. I love her and can see these being very popular. I used one of the new dies I bought at the DTDF pop up shop on Sunday, MFT stitched basic borders. There are 4 in the set and I think they will used a lot as I can see so many different ways to use them. The papers are Maja coffee in the arbour. I kept the design simple to focus on the image so just added a charm, a pearl string and used my Viva pearl pen. I also used a clear Wink of Stella pen on her wings so they have a lovely subtle sparkle.

Commissioned card

I was asked to make a Wedding card similar to one I made recently but to keep the flowers fairly flat as it had to be posted to Australia. I used one of the LOTV simply print images. As this is a 7" card I used one of the largest images and coloured the pink flowers with Copics as the colour combo I was asked for was peach and green.  I used Memory Box precious hearts die, lace and various paper flowers and one of my fave products, Viva pearl pen.

Watering the flowers

My back is slowly getting better thank goodness and it held up ok at the hospital on Friday thanks to a large heat patch and the tablets. Sales were very good. Yesterday's Copic class was fabulous. I learnt so much and discovered different ways of colouring. Taken out of my comfort zone and loved the results. Back again this morning and then as hubby is out for the day I will be able to play at home this afternoon practicing what I have learnt. I thought I would try something a bit different as I am really enjoying sewing again. I diecut the flowers and watering can, sprayed them with fabric spray and the added some embroidery to the flower centres. I also stitched the watering can in place as I wasn't confident the spray would hold that well. In hindsight I would have split the embroidery thread as the stitching is thicker than I would have liked. Not bad for a first attempt and I will be experimenting some more with my fat quarters.

Say it with flowers

I am very excited to be at a Copic colouring class all day today and I shall be there again tomorrow morning. We are doing Copic one this morning and then this afternoon three classes, skin, hair and folds. Tomorrow morning is Copic two.

This is one of two thank you teacher cards I made for Papercraft Inspirations. I was asked to make them suitable to be adapted for any occasion so nothing too school based. I went for a shabby chic style using some Maja designs coffee in the arbour papers and flowers from Hobbycraft. I also used one of my favourite leaf dies from Britannia and Memory Box butterfly dies.  The sentiment was computer generated.

Foamarin flowers

A very early start for me this morning as we are at he hospital shop with my card and gifts. We like to set up the night before but now that the powerboat racing season has started we have to set up this morning as hubby was volunteering driving a rescue boat last night. I hope my back holds out as it is still rather painful.

So I wanted to share my first foamarin flowers with you. There are some incredible flowers around made with this but I am quite pleased with my first attempts. I watched a demo at Ally Pally and bought some foamarin and stamens and had a go. Here is the lilac one in the middle on this box.

And here is the white one which actually has lilac edges I coloured with ink but they don't seem to be showing in this picture very well.

So these boxes will be on sale today. I will be experimenting with the faomarin some more. If you haven't seen it then it is a very thin foam which stretches especially after heating, There are some great videos on you tube and some wonderful examples in blogland and on Facebook.

Comments on here are appreciated but do not count as an entry.

It's a snowman!

I haven't had time to make a Christmas card for quite a while so thought I had better get cracking on some. I bought this lovely pper pad Authenique Wintery in America and teamed it with a very cute Hobby House topper, a doily and some ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. The bow is from Hobbycraft and I used some fliffy stuff I bought at Ally Pally which you heat with a heat gun. Never tried it before, great fun watching it all puff up. The snowflakes were cut from silver glitter card using a Joy die.

Strawberries and flowers

I visited both the Card-io and Inkylicious stands at Ally Pally last week and came away with some new stamps from both of them. I have so many ideas for the Card-io stamps and this is the first one I made. They go so well with the Inkylicious sentiments, which is straight, blame the photographer!  I added a little colour to the background using a dry baby wipe and small ink pads. The Card-io stamps are from various sets. Their samples are fabulous, way better than mine, but I am enjoying playing with the stamps and trying out various ideas. Watch this space.

Party time

I hope you are all having a lovely Easter weekend. Mine hasn't quite gone as planned. Those who follow me on Facebook will know that I had a bad fall last Thursday. I caught my foot in the hoover cable which hubby was using and fell into the lounge hitting my back on our heavy oak coffee table. Thankfully nothing was broken but I have a nasty bruise, internal bruising and a very painful back. I have two lots of tablets, arnica cream and heat patches and it is slowly improving. Today we should have been going to see Lynsey and her family and go out for lunch but my back couldn't take the long bumpy journey so we will be going somewhere more local for a little trip as I haven't been out for the last two days.

Today I have a card as a guest designer again for My Mum’s Craft Shop
Image - Hobby House precoloured topper by Elisabth Bell
Papers - MFT dots and stripes confetti
Die - MFT sentiment label strip

All of these are available at My Mum’s Craft Shop.

I also used some new Nellie Snellen flower dies I bought at Ally Pally, pearls and pearl pen,  ribbon from Meiflower and a sentiment I found in my stash which fitted the image perfectly.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket

As it is Easter Sunday I thought I would share an Easter basket I made for Papercrafter magazine.  I was asked to make three cards and two papercrafted items using the free papers in the magazine. I had the idea of a basket and with the help of Pinterest I found some measurements which I adapted for my basket. The trim is part of one of the papers and I simply punched holes in it and added some ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.

What a sweet couple

Today we have a lovely new challenge at A Gem of a Challenge and it is to use ribbon or lace. I love both and decided to go with both of them on my 8x8 Wedding card.   I actually made this card using a precoloured Pink Gem digi for Crafts Beautifl but as it fit the theme so well am using it for my DT card.  The papers are Santoro Willow, lace and ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. The church was made with a Marianne die, flowers from Wild Orchid and I tucked a wooden heart in amongst them.

Disney's Boardwalk

Although we didn't visit any theme parks on our last two Florida holidays we did visit Disney's Boardwalk as it is one of my favourites. It is based on a seaside Boardwalk with a hotel and vacation villas. There is a small artificial beach with swinging seats, a lighthouse, stalls, restaurants. surries to hire and it i a lovely circular walk around the water. I used two ribbons from Crafty Ribbons for my scrapbook layout, MFT scalloped border and lamppost dies and added some chipboard arrows and sentiment.

And another Ellie

I took my samples to Jayne on the Stamposaurus stand yesterday at Ally Pally, where we had a fabulous time. I have lots of lovely new goodies to use and some candy to give away soon. Not long to wait for these cute stamps to be relaunched due to popular demand. They were on sale at the show and will soon be on the website. Ellie has been coloured with Copics of course.  I used the lovely pink papers from Craftwork Cards and again they look more lilac on my laptop, sigh. I added cheesecloth and some lovely pink lace from Crafty Ribbons. The flowers were cut with Joy dies and the butterflies are from Poundland.

Padded bunting

As promised I am back with some padded bunting I have been making. I bought some fat quarters and have been looking at different ideas for using them. I love sewing my felt hearts so I thought I would ese if my Spellbinder heart dies would cut the material and they do. I really enjoyed making these and I can sew these whilst watching TV as long as it isn't a gripping drama which needs all my attention. So far I have made these two.

Something completely different

Very early start for me this morning. When this publishes we shall be on the road to Ally Pally. I have my list and purse and looking forward to a lovely day with Lynsey.  Hubby is driving us and will come in for a while then go off for a walk to visit an audio shop he likes.

I like trying different things to make for my craft stall and decided to have a try at stamping some canvas bags. I bought the bags from Hobbycraft and used Inkylicious sentiment stamps and Card-io stamps. I am really pleased with the way they turned out. Hubby was out when I was making them and when I showed him her was very impressed.  Let's hope they sell.

I would like to enter the anything goes challenge at Stamping Sensations.

I will be back with another scheduled post with something I have been sewing.

This is the second of two A6 baby girl cards I was commissioned to make for Papercraft Inspirations. The designs had to be easily adapted for baby boys. I love this sweet LOTV Elephant digi. These gorgeous stamps were discontinued and due to popular demand they are being relaunched. Jayne at Stamposaurus has very generously given me 2 of the new stamps to give away.

Spring Card-io

I enjoyed making some Card-io Christmas so much last year that I bought some everyday stamps. I am looking forward to visiting their stand at Ally Pally for more ideas on how to use them. I used Backyard Blooms and Springtime sketchy floral stamps sets. The Inkylicious sentiment worked perfectly in the centre. I love the way the sketchy stamps work. First I stamped the flowers, tiny leaves and butterflies in coloured ink then stamped the outline stamps over the top in black. They say they don't have to match perfectly which is just as well as my first attempt isn't perfect.

I have coloured Ellie with Copics and diecut him using a Lawn Fawn stitched circle die. I have used an old Memory Box dragonfly die and a  Lawn Fawn puffy cloud die. The roses are from Wild Orchid.

Capri Pants

We have a new LOTV facebook challenge to tie in with the new decades girls and the challenge is to feature a female. I used one of the simply print precoloured digis, Capri Pants from the 50's. I used another of my older Spellbinder dies, labels 10. I can remember wanting these for ages and them being sold out all the time. I was so pleased when I found them at Ally Pally craft show several years ago. Talking of which I am looking forward to going there next Saturday. The papers are a mix of older MME ones and I used a MFT jumbo fishtail stax die, a sentiment from LOTV, pearl pen, spotted buttons and raffia.

Pirate teddy

You don't see a pirate for months and this week I have had two on my blog. Our new challenge at A Gem of a Challenge is furry friends and Pirate Barclay is one of my faves of the cute Pink Gem bears. Coloured with Copics and I used the Papermania Ahoy There papers and ribbon from Crafty Ribbons again. The sentiment is Craftwork Cards and the bunting die is Memory Box. The wonky stitched oval die is a real favourite of mine from MFT.

I would like to enter this into the anything goes challenge at Simon Says.
