Christmas Dinner

This is such a fun sentiment and I am sure we can all relate to the last line. It's yet another of my Cardmaking and Papercraft samples, The yummy ribbon from crafty Ribbons was perfect for this sentiment. I also used the gorgeous curved Spellbinder dies along with the wonky square dies. I added some pins and berries and used the Marianne poinsettia die.

Define Good

This is probably my favourite of the 5 samples I made for Cardmaking and Papercraft using the HOTP sentiments and Dovecraft Vintage Noel papers. I stamped the image with brown ink on kraft and used DI Vintage Photo, I love th different textures with the burlap and baker's twine and the cute wooden reindeer. I also used my corner rounder punch for a change.

A second box

This is the second of the MDF boxes I decorated. This one has been painted cream. The gorgeous ribbon around the sides is from The Ribbon Girl. I then attached lace around the middle.

The top has been covered with fabric paper from the First Edition Rose Garden pad. I then used DIs on a wooden birdcage and bird and added a large rose, cabuchons and pearls.

Another of my favourite stamps

Challenge time again at The Sugar Bowl and once again it is anything goes using a Sugar Nellie image. I made a card using this adorable image in similar colours a few weeks ago. One of my regular customers asked to buy it but I had already sold it at the first craft fair I took it to so I made another but this time with more purple as I know she loves purple.

Winter Wonderland Let's get sentimental

The weather here has been awful. We decided to get the food shopping done today and treat ourselves to a lovely carvery lunch. I have been busy working on more magazine commissions today and have more to do tomorrow. Looking forward to The Apprentice this evening. Hope you have all managed to stay dry today.

Flying high

Less than a month to go and I really must print out the inserts for our Christmas cards. I have been so busy making cards and gifts for my craft fairs that I haven't had time to write our cards yet. Still plenty of time and as always everything gets done in time. Most of our pressies have been bought and once the craft fairs are over we will start wrapping them.

I do love playing around with diecuts and making cards without stamped images for a change. This one sold at the first fair I took it to. I used a large Memory Box die and Impression Obsessions Santa die, added some Stickles and sentiment rubon. The backing paper is First Edition.

Tangled tinsel

This is my second post today. I recently made a series of 5 cards for Cardmaking and Papercraft and this is the first one to appear online and on their Facebook page. I loved using the HOTP sentiments and Dovecraft Vintage Noel papers. The gorgeous vintage holly ribbon from Crafty Ribbons matched my distressed vintage design perfectly. I do love cas cards and they are not that easy to achieve, though they look simple. Getting the design right is key. I love this stamp from Sheena Douglass and used it several times last year but not so much this year. I think I have had so many new stamps to use and still have some Christmas stamps waiting to be inked. Oh well there is always next year!

My first decorated MDF Box

I bought 2 MDF boxes at the NEC show from the MDF Man and now I wish I had bought more as I loved decorating them and they look so pretty. This is the first one I am sharing with you today and it will be on my stall at the hospital shop. Hubby undercoated it in white and then sprayed a mottled pattern in purple on top. I attached guipure lace and pearl trim from The Ribbon Girl around the sides.

The top and inside of the lid were covered with paper and I then added pearl sprays and flowers. The middles have been Stickled (is that a word?)

Chilly

Time for another challenge at A Gem of a Challenge and this fortnight our challenge is kraft plus one other colour. I love kraft as you may have noticed and it goes so well with red for Christmas. I have used one of the lovely new snowman images, Chilly with snowflake. Yes another snowman! Somebody asked on my blog recently how many snowman images I have. Well I couldn't possibly say, but it is a lot.

Snowflake

A simple card today using some of my new dies I bought at the NEC. I absolutely love the Tim Holtz snowflake die and matching embossing folder. I used DI weathered wood on the embossed snowflake. The sentiment dies are also Tim Holtz and used with the Stick It were so easy to stick down. In the photo the second n in wonderland is sticking up slightly I noticed but it just needed pressing down harder.

Gorjuss Girl Pictures

These are a first for me and I am really pleased with the way they turned out. I bought the wooden frames in America in January and finally got round to making them into pictures. The frames were painted with cream paint and I then added the Gorjuss Girl decoupage. I sprayed the decoupage with spray and shine to give it a longer lasting finish as there isn't any glass in the frames.  I used Marianne branch and parasol dies with kraft card and DI Vintage photo, added some wooden embellishments, flowers, pearls and Stickles.

This has to be one of my most used images which is ironic as I don't like football. Maurice is such a great character and so good for male cards. I thought I would make him a bit trendy by giving him bleached jeans using my blender on top of the Copics.

Birthdays

I seem to have sold a lot of cards for older men recently so I thought I had better make some more and this Woodware stamp is perfect for male cards. I sprayed it with spray and shine which of course meant the flash shone on it but these dull days the pictures look awful without a little flash and my daylight lamp.

The papers are really old Dovecraft ones which it seems many of us bought and I am down to the last few odd sheets now.I am really trying to use old papers as I hate having little bits of pads left.

Decorations

So this year I decided to try making some Christmas decorations to sell at craft fairs. I bought a small silver and gold tree from The Range to display them on my table.

These are some I made using MDF baubles and stars, ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, papers and various embellishments.

When we were in Florida in January I bought some of these decorations from the sale bin at Jo-anns. I cut off the wire, threw away the tatty ribbon and hubby painted them with cream paint.

This is how a couple of them finished up. All the ribbons are from Crafty Ribbons. I used baker's twine to hang the little decorations and added various embellishments. Here is one of the stars I made too. I am at a fair from 10-2 today so hoping I sell some more of them today.

Do you wanna build a snowman?

We went away to Birmingham again this week. As you know I went to Hobbycraft last week. Well this week we stayed overnight again and went to the Classic Car Show, which was great, unlike the journey home. The traffic was awful, there was an accident on the A14 so we shot off at Huntigdon and found our way home from there. It took us over 5 hours to get home so I am all behind with visiting blogs and commenting. Anyway on to today's card. I wanted to buy this Tim Holtz stamp and die set last year at the NEC but never got it. You can never afford everything you want and so I didn't buy it. It therefore became top of my list this year and I found just one set on a stand and about £6 cheaper than last year. Patience is a virtue they say. I am delighted with it, so much fun to use. I stamped the snowman 3 times and decoupaged him and then his hat and scarf. The label and sentiment and matching die are also included. There are dies for each piece which makes it all so much easier and quicker than cutting out. Vital at this busy time of year.

He has been coloured with Copics. Edged all distressed with worn lipstick distress ink and Tim Holtz tool. The paper is a new Craftwork Cards Magic of Christmas pad. I also used a Woodware holly punch, red liquid pearls and a new Britannia pine cone and branch die. I bought some Stick It at the show after reading about it on Kath's blog. It is brilliant for using on intricate dies like the pine branch.

Twins

I picked up an order at a recent craft fair for an 8x8 card for a man who is soon to be the proud father of twins. The lady who ordered it had been looking for a suitable card but all the cards she could find were for the woman having the babies, saying she was leaving to have a baby. Solution - a handmade card. She popped into the craft fair again last Saturday and said how much everyone at her work liked it and wanted to know where she got it from. Always nice to please customers.

New LOTV stamp from the NEC

One of the first stands we visited at the NEC was the LOTV stand as I wanted some paper pads. I wasn't going to buy any more stamps but there were a few new stamps ahead of the official release date. One look at this little elephant and I knew he had to come home with me, so cute. I also bought a new Wedding stamp and an older stamp too. I have been so busy since I got back last Thursday that I have had hardly any time to play with my new stash, Hopefully I should have more time today after doing some chores.

I have always thought this Mo Manning image was fantastic and when a friend recently joined the North Norfolk Railway as a volunteer I knew this would be the perfect image to use for him. He took a while to colour with Copics, as always, but I really love this card. I teamed it with First Edition paper, some baker's twine and a new Cheery Lynn choo choo die.

A simple snowman card today using the cute Sweet Snowman stamp by Penny Black, coloured with Copics and teamed with those Carta Bella Bundled Up papers. I really do love the bright colours of these papers. The sentiment is from Little Claire. I kept this card simple by just adding some faux stitching and glitter. New stash and candy

I had a lovely time at Hobbycrafts at the NEC on Thursday. Here is my lovely new stash and below in more detail.

Goodies from the MDF Man, card blanks, card stock and Stick It which I want to try.

Papers and embellishments.

My favourite items, stamps and dies. I was so pleased to find some brand new LOTV stamps so had to buy 2 of those. I have wanted the snowman blueprint doe and stamp for ages. I almost bought them last year at the NEc and didn't so when I found just one set on a stand snapped them and cheaper than last year too.

CANDY

And this is a candy for one of you. I really appreciate al the visits and lovely comments. Some of you comment almost every day and I am so grateful otherwise I am just rambling on to myself on here each day. To enter please visit my candy page.

You are lovely

Yes another of the new stamps from Little Claire.  I love this stamp and can see me using it a lot. I embossed the background with an Embossalicious folder and sanded Core'dinations. Can you guess what the white material is? It is actually an offcut from a new voile roller blind in our lounge! A great piece of recycling, just what I wanted for added texture to my card.

The image has been coloured as always with Copics and I used a Sakura pen to highlight the butterfly. Lots of distressing, some lace from The Works and a Prima butterfly.

You all know by now I am sure how much I love snowmen stamps so I couldn't wait to play along and this is one of the latest snowmen stamps from LOTV. So adorable. I have coloured them with Copics. I often use aqua fr the snowmen but tried pale greys for a change and I think I prefer them. I used C1 and C2 and a blender pen.
