Patchwork

I love the patchwork effect of both the paper and the wording on this card. They just seem to work so well together. The papers and tag are First Edition It's a Boy and the image is from an LOTV art pad. I added an Xcut diecut heart, some lace and seam binding.

Summer!

Yes a taste of Summer today with my DT card for The Sugar Bowl. It was lovely to see so many of you playing along last month. Let's get even more entries this month as we continue with an anything goes theme. So as long as you use a Sugar Nellie image you can play along.

This is a card I made for a friend's Birthday and I decided to go with a Summery card as a change from all the wintry images I am using at the moment. The beauty of digis is that you can crop them but increase the size so you still have a good size image.

As soon as I saw the challenge at Little Miss Muffet I knew I wanted to use a Pollycraft bear and my lovely new birch tree dies. I chose to make a non traditional coloured Christmas card.  Although Little Miss Muffet stock a lot of Pollycraft digis sadly I couldn't find any Bronson and Beaker images in store.

Happy Sunday everyone.  Another good craft fair yesterday. I had 3 of the 6 gift card holders left that I made and they sold with people wanting more for the next fair. White on white

Well Blogger threw a hissy fit for me yesterday morning and judging by some comments on Facebook I wasn't alone. It said there had been unexpected activity and wanted me to enter a code, which I did, and then enter another code and so on, just wouldn't let me in. Thankfully it did let me in after I left it a while but it meant I couldn't do my normal morning commenting.

Anyway all was well when I scheduled this card yesterday afternoon so hopefully it is still working so I can catch up. I love white on white cards but they are not the easiest to photograph. I used an Embossalicious folder with Core'dinations, Sue Wilson filigree poinsettia, shabby white frantage, pearl sprays from Wild Orchid, pearl strip from a friend and white ribbon.

Making Cards paper challenge

I decided to challenge myself on Monday afternoon to make a batch of cards using the papers, toppers and sentiments that came with the latest edition of Making Cards. It was so much faster using one set of papers and I was very pleased to make 8 that afternoon. They are all varied as I added various embellishments.

This one is my favourite, well it is a snowman and I love the colour combination. I simply added some Stickles and Joy die cut snowflakes from white glitter card.

I love the chalkboard effect of the sentiments. I shall be looking out for some of these to buy at the NEC. For this one I added half a doily and some Marianne diecut and embossed poinsettias with pearls.

I still have a lot of materials left to make another batch. A great way to build up my stock.

This is one of many simple 5x5 cards I have made for my craft fairs. I will only be putting a very few of them on my blog but I really love the sweet simplicity of this one. The papers are old Forever Friends and I simply fussy cut the image from one paper and decoupaged it and added 2 Doohickey slender fir diecuts. Simples.

All aboard the Mayflower

Another layout today and a much simpler design. I love the variety of layouts you can create with scrapbooking and if you have never tried it I urge you to give it a try. The photograph is of a replica of the Mayflower which is in Plymouth, New England. Of course this is where the Pilgrims landed after setting sail from England.

The paper is DCWV and just perfect for this layout. The tag is Craftwork Cards and the lovely ribbon and striped buttons are from Crafty Ribbons. I also used a Go Kreate seagull die, Tim Holtz word stickers and words and journal cards from Bo Bunny and Papermania.

Christmas Wishes

Great craft shop sales yesterday and a lovely treat day today. Off for a facial and back massage and a look round the shops in Norwich. Very tiring day yesterday as we were up at 5.30 and standing all day selling so I didn't get much blogging done last night. Will have to catch up later or at the weekend. The second of my vintage Christmas cards in the November issue of Making Cards. I used a lovely Inkylicious stamp with white ink on kraft card cut with a postage stamp Spellbinder. The papers are Echo Park Keepin' Cozy. I used Marianne poinsettia and Tattered Lace ivy dies with tiny red berries from The Ribbon Girl.

NYC Streets

Back with another scrapbook layout today. I loved our visit to New York and really want to go back. It is just like you expect it to be from seeing it in movies and on TV. These pics were taken in Greenwich Village and Brooklyn. The bottom picture is of the famous brownstones which I have read about in many novels. Very tranquil walking around here away from the hustle of Times Square.

I tore and inked some old papers and added some vintage ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.I used a Tim Holtz on the edge townscape die also inked with DI Vintage Photo. The love lamp post is a new die from Doohickey I got with a voucher I won a few weeks ago at Winter Wonderland. I didn't have enough of each letter in the alphabet stickers I wanted to use so I used a mixture and I really like the effect.

Two of my crafting friends who sell handpainted ceramics and textiles are sharing the shop at the hospital with me today. We did this a couple of months ago and we were very busy as is is right by the outpatient's reception. They have different people in there every day and we are hoping to get a regular day a month next year. It is an early start so I won't be around all day today.

Pumpkin People!

I haven't created any scrapbook layouts for such a long time but I thoroughly enjoyed making 3 last Friday when Lynsey came for the day. It is so different to cardmaking and lovely to make something for myself. We love New England and one of the fun things to do in New Hampshire in October is to follow the trail and find the pumpkin people. This is just one of the many displays. I used some papers from my stash with a GO Kreate die and aTim Holtz die for the leaves, The pumpkins, spotted shape and pumpkin pie diecuts are from a set I bought in America. I also added some burlap and felt letters for added texture.

New snowman stamp

I had a lovely day on Wednesday, my Birthday. We spent the day at Freeport shopping outlets. Hubby had already bought me a silver ring from a craft fair and a Gorjuss girls diary and I said I would like some new clothes too. In Gap I got 2 pairs of skinny jeans and 3 jumpers, then across the road in Next (not the Outlet store) I got a lovely top. My Mum gave me money so I bought a gorgeous new Radley handbag reduced by £90! The rest of her money has gone into my NEC fund for next month. We also bought a couple of Christmas pressies while we were there and stopped for a meal before coming home.

You know how much I love snowmen and this is another of the stamps I just got from LOTV. I went with traditional colours for this one.

Sweet James in the snow

How much stash do you have that hasn't seen the light of day for a while. Well I haven't used my X cut shape tool for absolutely ages. I got it out and thought either use it or sell it. Mmm, the diamond shape worked perfectly with the image so I am keeping it and going to use it. The larger shapes are particularly useful for scrapbooking.  I was lucky enough to win a £10 LOTV voucher last week so I got 3 new stamps including this older James stamp which I needed. Last time I tried colouring on kraft card I wasn't very happy with it but this time I used Desert Storm colouring card from Crafter's Companion and I am delighted with the result.

Joy

Another cas card from me today. I would never get all my Christmas cards made if I made them all fussy and fancy and as we all know not everybody appreciated how much work has gone into them. These Sassy Cheryl images are such fun and of course they make a lovely quick card. I am enjoying experimenting with cas with different embellishments and minimal papers. For this one I just added pearls, twine and a charm. Placing the image at an angle just adds a bit of interest.
