Gift card holders

Last Christmas I was going to make some gift card holders for my stall and never got round to it so this year I was determined to have a go at designing one,  Once I had worked out all my measurements, and written them down for the second one, I was away.

I used papers from LOTV, Frosty Christmas. The filigree poinsettia was made with a new purchase of Sue Wilson dies and glitter card. they look beautiful but took ages to poke all the bits out. I think glitter card is more difficult to work than ordinary card actually. The snowflakes are a Memory Box die and Martha Stewart punches.

This is the inside. The To and From look sideways in this picture but are the right way when the holder is opened. I bought some velcro dots when I went to the LOTV shop in  May and they were perfect for fastening.

My first Santoro stamp

This is the card I made for my friend Lynsey's Birthday yesterday. I had been admiring the Santoro stamps for a while and in the end succumbed to buying just this one. Lynsey is a big fan of pink and green. I added some pleats to the dress to give it more shape and I am really not happy with them but it isn't a technique I do often so more practice required I feel.

I'm so excited

I was so excited to receive an email on Friday saying I had been chosen to join The Sugar Bowl DT. Thanks for all your supportive comments on my post a while ago when I submitted my card for the DT call. Sugar Nellie were some of the first stamps I ever bought and I have always wanted to join The Sugar Bowl DT.

This is a first for me typing a blog post on my phone so I can't link to the challenge. Our next challenge is September 25th so I hope you will play along. If you are a Facebook member there are some cute freebies on offer as part of the Kit and Clowder party.

Scroll down for today's card and up for candy xx

18th

This is my second DT post for today. Please scroll down for my Little Claire card and scroll up for candy which you need to enter via my candy page.

Our challenge at A Gem of a Challenge is milestone Birthdays. Although it isn't my team's week to play I often join in with the other team as I love using these images so much. I had an order for an 18th Birthday card in purple with a girl with dark hair and a horse and here it is. I merged three images, Chloe, horse and straw in Photoshop. It's the first time I have done that and I couldn't believe how easy it was using the PNG images.

Love you to the moon and back

Another new stamp from Stamposaurus, This one was requested by Jayne's son so I assume he had somebody in mind to use it for. I used a Spellbinders die and inked the edges with DI Weathered Wood. I wanted to make a girly card so added some large flowers and quilled leaves made with a Sue Wilson die.

We have been away in Worcestershire since Monday, driving home today so I hope you enjoyed all my scheduled posts these last few days bringing you lots of new released stamps. We stayed in a lovely barn conversion in the countryside. The WiFi wasn't great in the barn and we were out a lot enjoying the sunshine so apologies for not commenting as much as usual this week.
I hope you have entered my candy too, see my candy page.

Yes today brings yet another of the new stamps from Little Claire and this is such an unusual one. I coloured the image with Copics adding Stickles for the snow and then made a frame with kraft card which I then sprayed with gold spray and sparkle, the same as I used on the Little Claire sentiment. The papers are First Edition Vintage Noel and I added some MS punched snowflakes.

Zentangled owl

I had some fun with this new stamp, snowflake owl from Little Claire. As the image already had some zentangling I decided to zentangle the rest which gave a lovely contrast against the brightly coloured paper which is a very old Papermania one I found in my pile of oddments and was perfect for my card. The sentiment is from Little Claire and I added some snowflakes using glitter card and Joy and Marianne dies. The snowflake border was made with a TH on the edge die and I inked the edges.
