We will be out and about today. I have a dress and a skirt to be altered. The skirt I bought from Laura Ashley a few years ago. It was a bit tight and I thought I will get into it one day. Well I still haven't worn out as it is now too big! The dress I bought from Dash for a Wedding a few years ago and it is now way too big. With the nice weather hopefully coming I would like to wear them and I know a dressmaker so she is going to alter them for me. Also have the food shop to do and want to get some plants for the garden.

Still a few days left to enter my candy, see post above.

Butterflies galore

A rather different card from me today using the Little Claire May club stamp set. I cut an aperture using a Nestie, stamped the Little Claire image and then sprayed with Spray and Sparkle before attaching to the back of the circle. I used MB birdcage and butterfly dies and a Britannia Happy Birthday die. The large butterfly is recycled from some acetate hand cream packaging.

Here is another of the gorgeous digis I bought from Funky Kits last week as they have 20% off until the end of May. I wanted to go for soft pastels and I just couldn't wait to use my new dies too. I have wanted these mushrooms for ages and last week I sold some stash on Facebook so treated myself to these and the Joy butterfly border, another on my wishlist for a while.

Abi Ballerina

I hope you all had a good Bank Holiday weekend. We had a lovely day out on Sunday at Freeport outlets in the sunshine. I got some new clothes, hubby got a shirt and we had a lovely meal. We drove home through the Suffolk countryside and stopped  at a lovely old thatched pub where we had a coffee in the garden. I hd a lovely crafting day yesterday while hubby went to watch the powerboat racing.

So her is one of the cards I made yesterday. I just couldn't resist using the second of the free ballerinas from All Dressed Up as they are sooooooo cute.

3 layouts

I promised to share the 3 layouts I made last Friday with you, and here they are. The first is of me at school. I am sure you can easily spot me. This is the layout I am most pleased with, perhaps because of the texture. I used DCWV Burlap paper for the die cut clock and I love the effect. The days of the week were made with stamps I bought in America.

This is my favourite of the 3 photographs and shows me and my hubby not long after we first met. He used to race the hydroplane we are sitting on. I love using wooden embellies. I bought the figures in America but the heart is part of a set from Little Claire, check them out they have 2 fabulous sets of wooden embellies.

This is me with my lovely Grandma on her 90th Birthday and a smaller pic of her in the seventies. Sadly she is no longer with us. I would like to enter this layout into the celebrate a special lady challenge at Sparkles.

As I have a male 21 card in my stock I decided to use the Woodware stamp and make a girly card with some paper pieced oddments. The backing paper is First Edition Rose Garden, to which I seem to be addicted at the moment. I added some flowers from Wild Orchid and used an MS punch for the fern leaves. Yes as the title says this is still my favourite fairy LOTV stamp and here she is in my favourite colour too. Definitely CAS

I have been making a few samples for Little Claire using some of their dinky stamps and I decided to have a go at a really clean and simple card. The card is 5x5 and the cute image is coloured with Copics with added Stickles. The sentiment is from the Fabulous Day set also from Little Claire. I simply added a doodles stitched edge and mounted on red Cor'dinations, simples!

Running out of baby titles!

Finding a title for the post is sometimes really easy but I think I am running out of baby ones. I bought a couple of the new art pads at LOTV as they have some gorgeous images which aren't available as stamps. I teamed it with some new Time Flies papers from Craftwork Cards, a new Memory Box baby die and some older MB precious hearts dies, ribbon, pearls and a pearl heart. I thought the tiny pearls added to the crib were a cute finishing touch.

60's

Yes, it's another layout for my DT piece for Crafty Ribbons where we have the very popular challenge anything goes with ribbon. I have gone for a flower power inspired layout. The journalling says it all really. The photos are not the best quality but I can't go back and get them retaken! I found the slide mounts from HOTP in my stash and as the backgrounds aren't very interesting thought I would use them to highlight the subjects.

We have been revamping our conservatory and have bought some retro stuff including some 60's badges which I photocopied and used on this layout. I have also used some lovely velvet ribbon and some narrow red ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, washi tape and a large brad.

I just didn't know which of my new stamps to play with first but this one does make me smile so much and when hubby came in the craft room just after I had coloured her he laughed and said she looks like Grace, our friend Lynsey's daughter when she puts her sunglasses on so now I think of that and smile even more.

A few photos from the weekend

I just have a few photos from the weekend to share with you. The first few are from the LOTV Birthday Party. This is me with Lynsey and Debby.

And here we are with Gretha from the LOTV DT and also our fellow DT member at Crafty Ribbons.

These are my purchases. I have a card made with one of the new fairy stamps to share with you tomorrow.

And these are a few other goodies I bought after visiting Sir Stampalot in Peterborough and a Samuel Taylor shop I found in Harrogate.

I still seem to be playing catchup with commenting so apologies if I haven't commented on your blog for a little while. I have some card orders and DT work to do and the ironing pile is ridiculous for just a few days away. Please scroll down for today's card and up for candy.

Watering the pots

Here is my third and final, for now anyway, sample using the lovely set of A5 stamps from The Isobel Craft Collection. This time I used 2 of the pot stamps coloured with Copics and a sentiment stamp from the set. The papers are First Edition Rose Garden again, I really love these papers. The watering can, topiary and birds are on a wire are all Marianne dies.

This is the set
which costs just £8.99 and is available from Facebook (link on my sidebar) or Ebay.

Guest Designer at Bunny Zoe's Crafts

I was so surprised and delighted to be asked to be a Guest Designer this month at Bunny Zoe's Crafts where the challenge is flowers and charms. I got to choose a stamp from the store. Oh my word have you seen the choice, amazing? I decided to keep the colours very soft and one of my new paper pads was perfect for the idea I had in mind. As I wanted to keep it soft I didn't add any glitter to her wings for a change.
One of my blogging buddies has this card now for her Birthday earlier this month.

Transport

Thanks to all those who have left me comments whilst we have been away. We stayed in Peterborough on Thursday night and then in Harrogate for the last two nights. I had a wonderful time at LOTV's Birthday party yesterday and met so many blogging buddies. I bought 5 of the new fairies, some older stamps, a paper pad, a die and a couple of art pads

I have two cards to share today, both made using some postcards I bought at Ally Pally from Kraftyhands. Hubby declared these cards a hit so hopefully they will sell well. For the first card I used Papermania Al aboard papers. The map was made using DIs, Frayed Burlap, Broken China and Evergreen Bough and then overstamped with a Papermania stamp. I can take no credit for this idea which came from a blogging friend Lorraine (Rainey). I told her I loved it and would try it.

The second card uses papers from Bo Bunny Weekend Market, wooden arrow from a new set I bought from Little Claire, wooden chevrons from Studio Calico and baker's twine.

Time for another challenge at Little Claire and spots and stripes is our theme this month. A nice easy one for you so do hop you will play along and remember you don't have to use a Little Claire product though we love it when you do of course.

Zentangle Just For You

I have been longing to have another go at some Zentangle cards and these Woodware stamps are perfect for it. It is so much fun learning the patterns and experimenting on altering them as well as I did on the U. I thought I would try using kraft card instead of white for a change but brighten it with some red striped paper from Dovecraft Curiosity Corner, baker's twine and a star button. Not too much to say about the card really other than I had fun and really like the way it turned out.

Hope you have entered my candy, see post above.
