Time for a layout

After a busy morning in the garden yesterday I left hubby painting the fence and made some roast squash and carrot soup. Then it was time for a relaxing afternoon and I decided I would spend some time creating a layout. My plan at the beginning of the year to do at least one a week never materialised but never mind. There's a great sketch on the Docrafts site which was just perfect for a layout. I wanted to keep to a red, white and black palette and these Gorjuss girl papers, tag and buttons from Docrafts were a perfect match. I also used MS PATP Cherish set, washi tape, Tim Holtz clock die and some card candi. The alphabet is from EK Success. it didn't have an & so I used one from another set.

Have a hoot this Christmas

You may have seen some of these fabulous new Christmas ribbons, digis and toppers from Crafty Ribbons. The DT were asked if they would make some samples and this is one of mine so if you are going to any of the craft shows you may see this on the Crafty Ribbons stand. A great image for a male Christmas card.

I used one of the digis and printed him off nice and large as I really wanted to make him the main focus of the card. He was such fun to colour with my Copics. The papers are some old Wild Rose Milton ones and the embellishments ad sentiment are from Craftwork Cards. I also used DI Worn Lipstick.

Last weekend when I went to Springfield outlets I bought a few things in the craft outlet there, this stamp being one of them. It is a Stampendous stamp and was reduced from £8.99 to £4.99 and I couldn't resist it. I stamped it with DI Dusty Concorde as I thought it was time for a purple card. I used some lovely old Papermania Capsule papers, MS scallop punch, Gorjuss girl buttons, Marianne Designs parasol die, Craftwork Cards sentiment and lace and bow from stash.

New ribbons from Crafty Ribbons

We have been away in Dorset this week, returned home yesterday. Had a great time and walked on the beach in West Bay, where they filmed Broadchurch. Unfortunately David Tennant was nowhere to be seen. I scheduled posts for every day and have been managing to do a little blogging at nights on my iPad.

I hope you have seen some of the fabulous new Christmas ribbons from Crafty Ribbons which have started to be released this week. I thought last year's ribbons were gorgeous and couldn't be bettered but I have to say I think Ali and Tony have created even more gorgeousness this year. I have used one of the new owl ribbons and there are some digis to match so I will be creating some cards with those. Somebody gave me some stamped images of this fab Santa ages ago but I don't know the make of stamp and I believe it isn't available anymore. The papers are Papermania spots and stripes jewels and the sentiment is LOTV.

Snowman Song

Thanks so much for all your good wishes. I have always dreaded having an MRI scan as I don't like enclosed spaces but last week's Reiki treatment and the Bachflower remedy really helped. I stayed calm and just shut my eyes and breathed deeply and thought happy thoughts. Just have to wait for the results now.  Will keep you posted.

Christmas Friends

I sold a few Christmas cards at the fair last Saturday and I was asked if I could do some more traditional cards, snowmen, Santa, robins etc. I love this cute Sugar Nellie image which I have coloured with Copics. This is quite a simple card for me as I found the K&Co diecuts in my Christmas stash and thought the colours went perfectly with the Kaisercraft Dear Santa papers. I added a sentiment and some stickles and that was all.

I am at the osteopath's this morning so will catch you later, hopefully without a backache, which has been getting worse this week.

Purple and Aqua

Thanks for your good wishes for my hospital visit yesterday. The consultant was so pleased that the balance exercises had worked so well and I was discharged.  So I just have the visit to an osteopath on Wednesday which will hopefully sort out my backache and then the MRI brain scan on Thursday which I am really not looking forward to. I am praying this will show everything is normal and that will be the end of all my medical appointments for a while. Of course I may need more than one appointment at the osteopath.

Yesterday's craft fair was much better than Saturdays, thank goodness. At a recent craft fair I was asked if I had a card for a Civil Partnership, which I didn't. However I thought I would make a card which would suit either that occasion or a Wedding so I bought this Inkylicious sentiment stamp from Joanna Sheen. The papers are Prima Lyric. I cut the two corner pieces from a sheet and attached them to the backing paper.. I also used DI Worn Lipstick and added some die cuts, pearls and roses from Wild Orchid. The birdcage is MB, small butterfly Marianne and the larger butterfly Cheery Lynn.

I have a hospital appointment this morning regarding my balance problems, which seem to have been resolved through the exercies so I am hoping this will be the last Audiology visit. We are then meeting a friend for lunch and then I have an appointment at the hairdressers so another busy day.

Ahoy There

The craft fair yesterday was disappointing. As it is a Framer's Market as well it is usually busy but even the produce stalls had lots of stock left. I wonder if many of the regular older customers have gone away now that the schools are back. There was a lack of ladies who lunch there yesterday and they are my best customers. I am at a craft fair all day today so I hope that one will be better.

I am so sorry if I haven't visited you recently. I have been getting ahead with some DT work as we have a short break coming up soon and I have been at craft fairs all weekend. Next week is very busy too with 2 hospital appointments, a haircut and a massage. I do appreciate your visits and comments so much.

Sparkle and Shine

Yes it's another card today using the gorgeous Stampendous Snowy Postcard stamp.I have noticed a few cards around already this year and this is the second time I have used it so far and I know I will be using it again as I love it. I have really gone to town with the sparkle and shine on this one. The backing paper is First Edition Silent Night. I have used the Tim Holtz on the edge snowflake die which I heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  I added fine glitter and Martha Stewart snow crystals to the image and the gold corner has been sprayed with iridescent spray and sparkle. I have also used DI Vintage Photo and a distressing tool.

We hd a great night out last night with friends, lovely meal and fantastic show. If you love 60s music and get the chance to go see Dreamboats and Petticoats, I can thoroughly recommend it.

I just love making something totally different to the cute cards sometimes and I had great fun putting this card together. I've used a Kodak image from Free Vintage Digital Designs, Marianne camera die, Spellbinders Mixed mediage papers, ribbon, string, K&Co metal embellies, hessian and a photo frame.
